Army Ousts Egypt’s President; Morsi Is Taken Into Military Custody
Egypt’s military ousted Mohamed Morsi, the nation’s first freely elected president, suspending the Constitution, installing an interim government and insisting it was representing the will of the people.
Egyptian democracy in action.
Lots of ways to cut into this. Morsi was certainly not acting much like a democratically elected president. Then again, the same could be said of several of our own presidents. The seizure of incre...

First time through “Fear Fun" my ears skipped right past “Now I’m Learning to Love the War." It took a few listenings before it hooked me. Father John Misty is not everyone’s cup of tea. If the album cover isn’t a dead giveaway, this is some major hippie, funky, folkfest rock. Shit is lodged in my headphones right now.
Anyway, this song has entered my consciousness as a totally impropable theme song for SKINNER. You’d need to read the book for that to make sense, but that’s the point here at c...

For anyone keeping score, this is the second time in three years that the Egyptian military has ostensibly sided with the revolutionaries against the government. Which reaffirms, for anyone with any doubts, who is really in charge over there.
It’s all well and good for the...

And the video? Not to make light of what’s happening (again) in Cairo, but:
It’s a revolution!

Snowden’s Fate Is Up to Russia, Ecuador Says
President Rafael Correa said it was up to Russia to decide what happens to Edward J. Snowden, the American intelligence leaker, but Russia maintains that Mr. Snowden is not its problem.
Hot potato!
This doesn’t seem to be going well for anyone except for the FSB.
