how does one go about being the object of your affection? cause yo i gotta crush. (on you)
ahahahaha i am so floored by this. thank you. i have been trying to figure this out w my therapist for like 5 years. right now we think the best way is to be emotionally unavailable, don’t respond to my texts in a timely fashion, absentmindedly touch me on the arm in a way that makes all my chemicals happen but also in a way that’s nbd to you - in fact you touch everyone on the arm like that, when you finally do respond to my texts, talk about the intrinsic magical holiness of wolves or the subtle & precise variations of your sadnesses or the way the body can quietly continue its work beneath the brain’s terrible & steady monsooning and say these things in such a charming and funny way as to make me forget i haven’t heard from you in eleven days, probably play the piano like you just got out of hell, have complicated & acrobatic eyebrows, and be in love w someone else. of course, all this goes out the window if you’re gemma arterton or natalie prass. wait, are you gemma arterton or natalie prass?

but don’t let him be too gone.
He’s got to be candle blown out
in the other room gone.
Or exhaust pipe
huffing down the block gone.
Not closure-gone. Not someone-else’s-
baby-gone. Not cut your hair gone.
He can’t ever be too far
away to hurt you, honey.”
