Trojan Horse
This weekend I finished this drawing of the Trojan Horse for the Toy Museum in Mechelen, Belgium. Quite a job. I'm beginning to draw armed knights and castles now.

Man in town
Little sketch in between about a man in a town. Don't know where, don't know how. But he knows something is going on. Look under the bridge on the left. You see police men and regular people running in the same direction.

A British square at Waterloo
A British Square at Waterloo
As used in the Napoleonic wars, the formation was constituted as a hollow square, or sometimes a rectangle, with each side composed of two or more ranks of soldiers armed with single-shot muskets or rifles with fixed bayonets. This type of formation was earlier used by the Romans (source: Wikipedia).
I've been working on this drawing for a week. I sketched the figures on separate papers and put them together in the end.

Napoleon's cavalry attacking at Waterloo
A new assignment for an illustration. This time for a museum. If everything goes on the image will be printed on a canvas of 2.9 meters to 8 meters in length. Here you can see Napoleon's cavalry attacking at the battle of Waterloo.

A lot to do in Belgium around the young Giel, who wanted to go the Tibetan
Jonang Monastery at the age of fourteen. A social research took place and interviews with a psychologist, but Giel was eventually allowed to leave with the moral support of his mother. It reminded me of the story of the Dutch girl Laura Dekker, who wanted to make a sailing trip around the world at a very young age, and eventually, after some legal wrangling, she was allowed to leave. Maybe we adults have sometimes to admit that what young people want is not necessarily bad for them.
Another tip for Giel: don't talk on social media about the quality of the fries in India, it sounds a bit weird for a convinced aspiring monk.
For the rest, all the best and say hello to your colleagues over there!

Pope Francis comforts and blesses a man suffering from neurofibromatosis
For me this was one of the catchiest images of the past year. Pope Francis comforts a man who suffers from neurofibromatosis, a rare and painful disease characterized by terrible growths on the skin, say the same disease as the "Elephant Man".Francis pushes the man against his chest and kisses him on the head.
