Detail from the space War-drawing...

Work in progress... A detail of the drawing space war. Given the drawings are for a toy museum, I have worked with more colors here. That is easier for a science fiction-like subject.

First World War: finished drawing

I just finished the drawing of the First World War. Boy, what a job, that coloring. The people of the museum are so far satisfied, so tomorrow i'll start the next drawing. That will have something to do with a Space War.

Work in progress(2): World War One

After sketching the coloring follows. This activity, which is very unnerving, takes the most time. It moves forward as "buttoning beans", so slow.

Work in progress: World War One

I'm finishing about now the drawing on The Trench War: World War One.I've been looking for uniforms of British, Belgian and German soldiers. Along with the books that I have on the subject, I had a pretty good idea of how things looked like.I recently read " Trench Warfare" from the French comic book author Jacques Tardi. A better picture of the living hell that war was, is hardly to find. It was pure madness. A shameful massacre. Political leaders in that time would now have to answer in The Hague.

D-Day 6 juni 1944

Just finished this World War II drawing for the museum. I chose to draw D-Day.  I was impressed years ago by the opening scene of 'Saving private Ryan'.  This was probably the widest front of the Second World War. American, British and Canadian soldiers were our liberators, for which they still deserve respect. Many soldiers lost their lives on that beach, for a war that was in essence not theirs.

Knights with swords and others on horseback

The final drawing. Knights with swords and others on horseback. In the foreground a few villains, some of whom wisely flee while others are being defeated. There is still some work to perform on the coloring. In the background the castle of Beersel.
