To answer your question on lack of fictonpress reviews/signals of life: fictionpress is a site that relies on pretty steady updates. It wasn't always like this, but unless a story is updating once a month, people tend not to review because there are so man

mistressswitch answered: AO3 because there’s fabulous options. also life got super busy. good reviews take time and care. I’d hate to cause insult because I’m rushing.
riverlace said: Um, honestly I’ve stopped commenting as much as I used to. I didn’t feel like I was giving meaningful feedback, and that combined with slower updates from many of my favorite authors (not just you) made me go pretty silent too. I am most likely to reply here on Tumblr,…
neongreengummiebears answered: I don’t go on AFF much anymore because I kind of hate the format. I mostly go on Fictionpress and AO3 (especially AO3. Better search options)

Thanks guys! I am definitely not worried about traffic. If you told me when I started posting online that I’d be getting folks coming through my fic at the rate they do now, I would not have believed it. But maybe that isn’t really in my best interest, especially when all the work is going in one direction? More than anything my relationship with these sites is changing and I might just be ready to try something new.

hey can I mumble some writer feels at you guys?

Almost no one talks to me on AFF anymore and fiction press is pretty quiet too. It’s a little weird because the actual traffic for stories is as high as it’s ever been. Maybe it’s me? I’m not the howling, chatty update twice a week madman I used to be for sure. I went through some shit that knocked what was left of my 20s right out of me. Can you be happier and more somber at the same time?

I’ve also been thinking about transitioning to not making my writing process so public, so in the middle of sorting out what the hell I’m doing, but I also credit a lot of my growth in the last few years to reader feedback & guidance, a place to find a toehold as I scramble up the mountain. I’ve been writing a serial piece for yaoifix for the last 6 months so I am getting used to writing in what I’d call a much quieter environment. The words do still come.

I don’t know, where are you guys reading and writing these days? Where’s the party at?

are you planning to publish Art Criticism?

Yes. Art Criticism has been picked up by Less Than Three Press. I have been reading great LGBT romance stories from LT3 for years so I could not be more excited to be working with them. The manuscript is currently being edited and I will let you all know when I have more updates!

Amanda Curreri

Misfits, 1979 (Sex and Art), Hand-dyed, screenprinted, and sewn fabric; powder-coated aluminum, 68 x 48 inches
In 1978, an eight-color Rainbow Flag was designed in by Gilbert Baker. Baker and friends hand-dyed and sewed the flag here in San Francisco for the first Pride March. A year later, in 1979, two colors, hot pink and turquoise were dropped from the flag due to the limitations of commercial printing. Each of the original colors in Baker’s flag were assigned meaning: pink – sexuality; red – life; orange – healing; yellow – sunlight; green – nature; turquoise – art/magic; blue – harmony; and violet – spirit.
