Chris Cobb, an artist based in San Francisco, has created an amazing installation in bookshop called Adobe Books- he catalogued every single one of the 20,000 books by color. The project is titled There is Nothing Wrong in This Whole Wide World. They were arranged by hand over a 10 hour period, and he enlisted the help of 16 volunteers. Such beautiful results, they transformed the bookshop overnight.

Haha it’s amazing this project is still making the circuit. He first did this to the little art library at school where I was doing work-study and my boss was not pleased. I love the title, I still have the postcard.

Found: The Pequod! (Almost)

Marine archaeologists at the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration have found the sunken wreck of the Two Brothers - the second whaling ship helmed by George Pollard, Jr. Pollard had previously been the captain of the Essex, which sunk after being attacked by a sperm whale. The sinking of the Essex was the inspiration for Melville’s Moby-Dick.

This is relevant to the chapter of swallowed by the whale I am finishing right now

A sneak peek at our new live/work space in downtown Portland. It’s not gigantic but I think it will shape up nicely for small art shows, performances and film screenings.
