CUSTOM ZARTAN COBRA G.I. JOE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!

This Zartan custom was sitting on the bench for a while; but I honestly had fun working on it.
The base figure was Marvel Legends Wonderman. The hood and belt came from Taskmaster. The bow came from Hawkeye, and I had to sculpt everything else [boots, gauntlets, body armor, gun holsters, looping sword holsters, long quiver and long arrows etc]. His three arrows were made long on purpose [via the interior ink barrels of clicky pens], so that he could hold them in a dynamic pose. The bow was heavily customized as well.
After sculpting, Zartan was hand-painted with Tamiya acrylics and I painted his eyes white in their cores [thus getting rid of the former red], before adding the classic black face paint to him.
He carries about 5 guns and two swords, along with his customized bow and 3 heat-seeking arrows. The large "WTF JUDGE Dredd HandGun" held in his right hand is the only weapon that can't be stored on his body via a magnet or holster.
The last three pics show his back without the custom rectangular quiver, so that you can see the large machine gun being vertically stored via a magnet, as well as a hidden handgun behind his belt. Stay tuned for more!

CUSTOM ELENA EDEN V3 TOY BY DSNG! [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE]
Another one from 2017. This is one of my Original Characters, Elena Eden. I’ve posted about 2 other toy versions of her in the past.
Elena is one of the main characters from the DSNG Sci Fi Series, currently a set of mature ebooks available at Amazon.com. She is a supermodel / entrepreneur and the girlfriend of General Obed Primon [one of my super soldiers]. And Obed is a friend of Prince Azzar, the main character in DSNG.
The recipe was quite simple; the base body was Marvel Legends Captain Marvel and the upper body was Thundra. Her arms were from Lady Thor and the gripping hands were Thundra. Sculpted her feminine features, and also sculpted the rest of her costume, including her hair, boots, gun holsters, thigh straps etc. Her belt was from Thundra, while the pouches were sculpted from Milliput putty.
Tamiya paints were used to hand-paint her. And she has four guns and one sword, held to her back via a magnet. Her ponytail is held by a magnet as well. The original DSNG blog article on Elena is over Here. Enjoy!

CUSTOM HARLEY QUINN TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!

I have just between 5 – 7 favorite DC Comics characters and Harley is one of them. This one took a few months, since I finished her and then still had a feeling that something was missing. Eventually I pulled her out a few days ago and added the silver pocket chain and an extra gun.
The mixed base model for this Harley Quinn custom was obtained from: Marvel Legends Spider-Woman [Thanos Wave] for the torso and legs, while the top/bust was Marvel Legends Thundra. Plus one arm came from Thundra and the other arm came from Lady Thor. The head came from Black Cat. And I had to sculpt the “dangling jingles” and the balls for her head, from green stuff putty.
Her boots, her chest, and other features of her costume were fully sculpted. I made her voluptuous; my custom, my choice... And then I used Tamiya paints for coloring her. Gloss Red was used to highlight certain features on her body.
Her clown hammer is very heavy. It was created from a slim base sledge hammer that comes from one of the WWE HHH toys. And I sculpted the enhanced center piece, along with the heavy round mallets fixed on either end [from soda bottle lids] and I added all of the blingy gems, and colored the gems gloss red. She can hold it, but it weighs her hand down.
For her weapons, my Harley Quinn has three guns and one dagger [down at her right boot], plus the heavy hammer. And there is a custom holster placed upon her back, created from cardboard, for storing one of the guns.
Lastly, I added a few pics of the DC Icons Harley Quinn, for size and design comparisons. Stay tuned for more...

CUSTOM LADY JAYE AND SCARLETT! G.I. JOE TOYS [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!

Lady Jaye [Alison Hart-Burnett] is a busty brunette from the comics and the cartoons and her character in the G.I.Joe Retaliation movie was portrayed by Adrianne Palicki. Her original costume is all green, but I chose to utilize green and black, since it looks more badass.
For this custom, the base model was a fusion of Marvel Legends Thundra [upper body] and Captain Marvel Carol Danvers [lower body]. I had to sculpt her entire costume, her pouches, her sleeves and her boots. The frontal segment of her belt buckle came from Casting Cave, while some guns came from that Website as well.
The repainted head of Lady Jaye was Carol Danvers, with brand new sculpted hair made from green stuff putty. Her leftward gun holster was fully sculpted, using putty and cardboard. Her hat was custom made as well…. I made it a lil’ bit bigger than needed, so any of the guys can wear it too ;) Finally, Tamiya paints were used to hand-paint her.
Her weapons were customized and I cut a small white cloth to make her scarf [after I repainted it black]. Plus I added a gimmick with her sniper rifle... so the weapon's long barrel can be disconnected and held in her hand, or it can be attached to her right hip via a holster and a small 5mm magnet. And per the magnets, the machete / sword held upon her back can also be attached to her right hip as well.
In total for her borne arsenal, Lady Jaye has 4 various guns and 1 sword. The gallery in my DSNG blog includes over 30 pics of her and Scarlett, together [And Scarlett was one of my former G.I. Joe customs]. Stay tuned for more!

CUSTOM SNAKE EYES G.I. JOE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!

Anyway, the base figure for this Snake Eyes was Marvel Legends Deadpool. That is a very common base. But once you take a closer look at my design, you’ll realize that it is original, since that is what I strive to usually do with my customized “GI Joe redesigns”. And that way, an old character looks fresh and unique.
I sculpted the body armor of Snake Eyes and his pouches via putty. Plus his helmet visor was also built from scratch—so it looks sharper and more lethal than the standard versions. And I had to heat and glue his “Deadpool pinky”, because it just looked awkward. Two 5mm magnets were added to his sculpted back armor, so that his combined triple-swords and his rear machinegun could be held in place.
There is a sculpted cool “I-phone device” attached to his right gauntlet, while his left gauntlet hosts an extra dagger. The right thigh’s gun holster was from Deadpool, but everything established on his left thigh was sculpted from scratch, and an extra magnet as added in there, for his submachine gun. And Tamiya paints were used to color him, in shades of flat black, metallic gray, German gray and gunmetal. In total, he has 6 swords and 5 assorted guns, which are held on his frame.
Thanks for looking, stay tuned for more!

CUSTOM STORM SHADOW COBRA G.I. JOE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!

The base model for this Storm Shadow custom was the Marvel Legends Vance Archer toy. Everything you see on him was sculpted with putty, from his boots and pants to the various straps, pouches, holsters, his left shoulder-pad, knee-pads, ninja mask, belt and his gauntlets.
After the sculpts were done, Tamiya paints were used, along with Americana paints. The removable hood was cut from a white cloth, and craftwire was used to give it the shape. All of his weapons were customized in some way. Some swords & daggers were made from scratch, other were bought on ebay, like the large katana blade. The uzi stored upon his chest is held there via a small 5mm magnet, and there is another magnet placed behind his red belt, so that the submachine gun can be stored there alternatively.
In total, my Storm Shadow has 7 swords [small and large], 3 assorted guns, and 1 grappling hook [which is wrapped around his left shoulder]. Btw, my custom Snake Eyes was also posted in this blog! Stay tuned for more!

CUSTOM STALKER G.I. JOE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!
Another new one for 2017! Today I’m showcasing Sergeant Stalker from G.I.Joe!
The base model for this Stalker custom was an Elite Roman Reigns WWE toy. I chose an Elite mold, because of the added articulation it offers. I had to take off his long hair, and after that I sculpted an army green beret hat and his ears. After the head modification was done, I decide to give him an original costume. Hence all of his gear was sculpted, while his boots were standard.
His guns were modified and sculpted as well. And I added a small 5mm magnet to the pouch sculpted on his left thigh, so that one submachine gun could be attached there. The four cylindrical frag-grenade canisters attached to his right thigh-strap were all sculpted. And there is another magnet on his back, for attaching his assault rifle. The shotgun that he holds in his left hand also has a magnet in its midpoint, so it can be swapped with the weapon held on his back. And the last magnet was added to the pouch locate on the right side of his torso - for attaching another submachine gun, held below his right armpit. In total, Stalker has 6 guns that he can hold and store on his body.
I refrained from adding a saber / ninja sword to his back, since I didn’t feel that it was necessary [But my Destro Custom had such a feature]. The pouches on the sides of his biceps were sculpted, while the pouch held behind his belt was fodder, as was the M18 Smoke-grenade storage canister held on the left side of his torso. After the sculpting stage, I painted him by hand, using two different greens, gun metal and black [Tamiya paints].
And this guy is actually bigger than the standard Marvel Legends, by about an extra 0.6 – 0.8 inches, so he’s roughly 7.0 inches tall. Stay tuned for more!

CUSTOM DESTRO - JAMES MCCULLEN, COBRA AGENT [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!
Here is my Custom Destro, the Cobra Death Dealer / Arms Smuggler, who founded the sinister M.A.R.S. corporation. It took a while to make this one. I utilized ML Tombstone as the dark-colored base, and I added the head from Draxx, before modifying it and adding putty for the metallic plates on his face.
The body armor, gauntlets, boots, etc. were all fully sculpted. His weapons were heavily customized as well. And rather than given him a regular WWE briefcase that can hosts some handguns, I decided to give him a handheld boxed-mini-gun, which is held like a briefcase. And that mini-gun has a sword holstered to it, placed on the inside. There is an extra sword fastened upon his back and an extra dagger as well, behind his belt.
His left arm and his left hand are from a HHH basic series toy, while his right arm was standard from Tombstone, and the clawed open fist on his right hand came from Draxx. Both of his gun-holsters and thigh straps were custom-made. And the customized heavy machinegun held upon his back is fastened in place via a magnet. His left gauntlet has three heat-seeking mini-missiles, which are glued in place.
Additionally, I gave him a removable phantom mask, obtained from a WWE Elite Warlord figure. Tamiya paints were used to color him, along with two shades of red. I have a habit of loading up my Joes… so my Destro has five guns [including the machinegun and briefcase], two swords and one dagger. I couldn’t add more than that, without blocking out his gut / his chest design.
No stickers on him… the design speaks for itself. Had to include his sexy Lady, Baroness; I also posted here here in my DSNG Blog gallery, and at Figure Realm.

CUSTOM MATT TRAKKER AND GLORIA BAKER, FROM THE 1980s MASK CARTOON [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!
Prepare for a Blast of Nostalgia!!!! First, a Brief Cartoon Role Call: In the 2000s, we had Justice League, My Little Pony, Avatar Air bender, Danny Phantom, Samurai Jack, Ben 10 and Young Justice. In the 1990s we had TinyTunes, Animaniacs, Batman, Duck Tales, Goof Troop, Xmen and The Gargoyles [Fawk Yeah!!!] And back In the 1980s, we had the G1 Transformers, Voltron, The Centurions, Heman, G.I.Joe, and Ma-Ma-MA-MASK!!
And my customs are based on two characters that I greatly admired as childhood heroes, back in the 80s, from the MASK Cartoon Series. Matt Tracker [or often spelled Trakker] was the ultimate good guy, cool-headed and always calm, and he was a loyal father. He also showed a fatherly spirit to his men [and women] and he was always a good father to his son, Scott, even when the young lad would get himself in trouble. Those traits in my eyes, made him a true hero, even though he had no super powers.
Truthfully that cartoon was way ahead of its time in the 80s setting, because the good guys & villains were using advanced nanotechnology, finite-particle manipulation and zero-state quantum mechanics to create those masks with diverse customized powers. Although fans never got to meet the wife of Matt, they did get to see the Karate Hottie, Ms. Gloria Baker [who is shown as my female MASK agent]. As far as I can remember, these two characters never hooked up in the series, but as a childhood fan, I thought it would be nice to put them together as a power couple.
The base toy for Matt was the ML Captain Britain [and I enhanced his chest with putty before adding the body armor, gloves and boots]. And the Captain Marvel Carol Danvers was used for Gloria’s base; plus the extra mohawk-head from the Carol toy was used as the base for creating Gloria’s aquatic mask via putty, in stages. Their removable masks and costumes were fully sculpted and hand-painted with Tamiya acrylics, and the base of the mask for Matt was gotten from a McFarlene TitanFall toy – but I had to enhance it greatly with putty as well. Some of their weapons have magnets and those guns were customized. Like and Share! - Article written by the artist & author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series

CUSTOM BARONESS G.I. JOE COBRA TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!
Baroness [Anastasia Cisarovna] is one of the sexiest female villains from the 80s. And I added some of my artwork, to show some of the inspiration that I was drawing from, in order to get the custom job done swiftly. There is another pic that inspired my artwork’s pose, which was done by a popular comic artist guy called Adam Hughes [You can search Google for “Adam Hughes Baroness” to see it].
Anyway, the Baroness base figure was ML Enchantress, but I later opted to utilize the top body of ML Mocking Bird, along with the head from that toy [since it came with the iconic glasses that I needed]. I borrowed the handguns from Star Lord, which are adhered to her hips via magnets. And her grasped submachine guns were heavily modified, and they originally came from Casting Cave [I highly recommend that site, for your 6-inch figure guns!].
Some gemstone stickers were added to her costume, placed on her belt and her gauntlets, to give her that extra bling factor, since she is supposed to be very affluent in the cartoon series. And on her right hip she has a sculpted pouch adhered to her belt, while on her left hip she has some sculpted C4 explosives.
The armored thighs, legs, vest, and the rest of the costume of Baroness were sculpted with Milliput, and then I painted her with Tamiya black and metallic gray highlights. I also sculpted some extra hair strands for her, before planting them in the front section of Mocking Bird’s bleach-blonde hair. Then her hair was painted, while black gloss highlights were also added. I didn’t want to load her down with weapons like my other 6-inch G.I. Joes, since I felt that the simplicity of her design didn’t warrant the extra layers of the heavy weapons shown on the other guys like Flint.
[You may need to click the words "Read More" slightly below and on the right, to see the rest of the pics in this long article!]
