THE MYA FUNKE CUSTOM TOY BY DSNG! - PART 2 [WITH HER AFRO PUFFS]

Finally got done with Mya Funke. And I personally like the results. Mya Funke is an Original Character from the DSNG Sci Fi Series. She is briefly presented in the ebook DSNG Book 19, which will be released later this year. And If you look carefully in the gallery bellow, you'll see at least one pic that matches that pose on the left!

Brief Character Bio:
Her full name is Mya Funke Inaki.  She hails from the mega state of Dalterland on Planet Avera, which is akin to a tropical continent; hence she has chocolate skin and her black hair is tied up in two afro puffs. And Mya is a tech whiz and a skilled acrobat, with limitless stamina. She also has another super ability per her family heritage, but I won't get into it right now. Her full name is actually of African origin. And the girly name "Funke" is actually Nigerian [pronounced in dual syllables as Foon-Kehh]... although here in the States we call it "Funk", which is fine.
Mya is one of the Mega-Wolves, a team of supervillains led by the rogue Alpha Senturi soldier named General Azaji. And the Mega-Wolves all hail from the Dalterland continent. And there are four city districts in Dalterland, namely Caldernia [the capital], Mahajah, Dalzeria and Tanzara.

Brief Toy Recipe:The base figure was a mixture of Marvel Legends Enchantress [torso and heels] and MockingBird [top bust and the afro-puff head, which was repainted]. The two sculpted puffs are attached by magnets, so they can  be easily removed. And the second helmet-wearing head, featured in the second gallery, came from ML Captain Marvel Carol Danvers. Her legs came from Mockingbird as well. I did a lot of sculpt work on her and eventually gave her four guns. There is a magnet concealed on her left hip, and another magnet on her back, to help with the weapon storage. Tamiya  and Vallejo paints were used, and she was hand painted.
And yes, she is thick, and baby got back; that's part of her original design.

THE MYA FUNKE CUSTOM TOY BY DSNG! - PART 1 [WITH HER HELMET]

And here is the second gallery for Mya Funke!! Mya is an Original Character from the DSNG Sci Fi Series. She is briefly presented in the ebook DSNG Book 19, which will be released later this year.

The base figure was a mixture of Marvel Legends Enchantress [torso and heels] and MockingBird [top bust and alternate afro-puff head, which was repainted]. And the second helmet-wearing head, featured in this gallery, came from ML Captain Marvel Carol Danvers. Her legs came from Mockingbird as well. I did a lot of sculpt work on her and eventually gave her four guns [but just two are featured in this gallery]. There is a magnet concealed on her left hip, and another magnet on her back, to help with the weapon storage. Tamiya  and Vallejo paints were used, and she was hand painted.
And yes, she is thick, and baby got back; that's part of her original design.

EXPLORING DSNG PART 29 - FAN ART OF MYA FUNKE INAKI! [ORIGINAL CHARACTER!!]

I finally got around to coloring this pic. Mya  Funke is one of the super villains from DSNG Sci Fi Series, currently presented as ebooks on Amazon.
She is sexy, feisty and has super strength, along with limitless stamina; so she never gets tired in a long fight. Plus she's an alpha female with a mind of her own. She is a tech-whiz, and a programmer / hacker, per her day job. But she has a penchant for crime, and putting her hard fists in the faces of her foes. She'd probably make a good rival for Yatalia, one of my former characters, shown HERE.

Yeah, Mya has afro-puffs and she's thick; that's all part of her unique design. She also has other powers that will be revealed later. And she is slightly humorous, while she is tied to two different villainous factions. The first group is the Mega-Wolves and the second group is the Jakk-Hammer Squad.

Mya would fit in perfectly with Black Panther and the Advanced World of Wakanda... but she doesn't belong to Marvel, she is 100% mine.

The DSNG Series is an evolving tale, so most of the main characters has a past, a present and a future [when they survive the scripted sci fi adventures, which can often been extremely chaotic]. And from 30 years ago, Mya's past is tied to General Azaji and the Mega-Wolves [she was a follower in that evil group], while her current adventures are tied to the Jakk-Hammer Squad [and she's a leader in that group of hitmen].

GotDamn she's thick... :D Anyway, as teased in this former blog article Here, I've been working on her action figure toy and I will post that project soon.
Mya Funke makes her debut in DSNG Book 19, which will be released later this year. The other ebooks which can be downloaded to your PC, laptop, smartphone or kindle, and they range in price from just $0.99 and $2.99, up to $5.99 depending on their page length, are available over HERE.

Btw, the DSNG tales are Rated M for Mature, per the uncensored sci fi action, adventure and romance... a hardcore fan once called it "Game of Thrones in Space", per a book review; and another guy called it "TechPunk", as opposed to regular Cyberpunk, over on Deviantart....

CUSTOM SHAZAM! CAPTAIN MARVEL HEAD SCULPT / HAIR SCULPTING

Just wanted to post these additional images, for those that care about the process for my Shazam Custom Toy [6-inch scale, with a Marvel Legends base]. I used Green Stuff for his hair, which is slightly flexible putty. And I also had to use grains from black shoe-wax for his facial hairs / beard. And I used Tamiya acrylic black paint for his hair color. And later his face was painted and his eyeliner was added. But his eyeballs were left blank, since he has lightning powers...

CUSTOM SHAZAM! CAPTAIN MARVEL TOY BY DSNG [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE]

Something new: Shazam! aka the original Captain Marvel! Those who grew up in the 70s / 80s should remember the cartoon featuring this guy. I created an updated version of him, showing him as an adult superhero.

I started this custom over 1 month ago. Turned out that it was taking more time and effort than I expected, so he'sbeen sitting on the sidelines for a long time. Yet the final product looks majestic & cool, so I'm pleased. Plus the Shazam film starring Zachary Levi is slated to be released in 2019.

Truthfully this tough guy should be just as strong as Superman, if not stronger. Yet it is wise to note that the history of the Ownership Rights of this character have a long twisted story… Shazam [aka Billy Batson] was created back in 1940 and he was actually the property of Fawcett Comics, not National / DC Comics… you can do your research on that stuff via Wikepdia.

Hell, this is my blog, so I'll tell you some of the old story: The copyright infringement court case was sponsored by National Comics  [DC Comics] and it was tied to jealousy / greed, since Shazam was the #1 selling comic book in the 1940s, beating out  sales of Superman who was introduced in 1938. But the thing is, their origins and costumes were totally different. And Shazam could fly, while Superman could not. Take a look at the toy pics below and compare the two characters. One of them was even known for wearing goddamn red speedos on top of his blue tights back then, for cryin' out loud!! How the hell could they be full copies of one another??
- Sigh - American greed... DC Comics did win the lawsuit in an appeal, which forced Fawcett Comics to shut down. And they paid DC roughly $400,000 in damages for "copying Superman". But DC eventually bought the rights to Shazam back in the 70s, and they fully owned the Shazam / Captain Marvel character library in the 90s... But what they originally did to a smaller comic company, simply because they had the money, just wasn't right. Yet even big companies eventually reap what they've sown...

Anyway, you're alive and here so Smile!! And I still made this cool custom toy Damn It!!!!! :)
The base body was Marvel Legends Red Guardian. I sculpted his gauntlets and the lightning bolt on his chest, his belt, the sash, plus a back-plate [not seen because of the cape], and also his new hair style & stylish beard, while his basic face came from ML WonderMan. His fists came from Ironman, while his knee-pads were sculpted. His cape was customized from Lady Thor, while the short chain is from Thundra’s weapon. Tamiya acrylics were used, hand painted. Two early pre-paint samples are also shown below. Enjoy and Share!

WORK IN PROGRESS - THE MYA FUNKE CUSTOM TOY BY DSNG [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE!]

I don't usually post articles solely about WIPs, but I figured I'd make an exception today. Mya Funke is an Original Character from the DSNG Sci Fi Series. She is briefly presented in the ebook DSNG Book 19 [which will be released later this year].

The body mold used for this toy was three Marvel Legends toys: Captain Marvel Carol Danvers for the top, and The Enchantress for the central body, while her legs came from Mockingbird. Dem heels also came from The Enchantress... and dat ass, well I made that. Yes, my toys are thick... they're my customs, done in my art-style ;)
Plus her guns were heavily customized, and she may have a backpack in the future. I may have to give her an extra head... we'll see... It might be 3 weeks before I get her fully done, since she has to match the concept art, which was posted in Facebook HERE.
Anyway, stay tuned for more!

CUSTOM LADY THOR REMIX [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE TOY] BY DSNG!

Today we're going to take a look at one of my fav customs so far. It's a remix, based on the Lady Thor that Marvel released last year 2017 [and a sample of that original toy is over HERE]. I decided to repaint her and upgrade her from head to toe, while utilizing fodder from my storage bin and also from the original toy.

So the base model was Marvel Legends Lady Thor, while the head remained the same, but the helmet's ears were ungraded with putty. Her right am received a new bracelet with studs, as well as an armband on her bicep [which was also added to the left arm]. Her left arm has a tied rope added to it, almost like a watch. Her removable cape was cut and customized; so it has  a connecting chain like Power Girl would have. And the "plug" in the back of her cape was removed. Her boots were upgraded with putty, while her chest, her butt and her thighs received upgrades as well. Her frontal loin cloth was also changed, while I added some "pocket-chain side-laces" and a new belt for her, with some yellow-painted painted gemstones. Her new metallic bra has upgraded silver swirls. Then I gave her a bigger hammer handle. Plus I added a holstered short sword to her right thigh, which she can grip in her right hand. Enjoy the custom gallery and don't forget to share this page!

CONCEPT ART - AFRICAN FEMALE NUBIAN WARRIOR

I've been super-busy lately, and I just wanted to share something to keep the blog active ;) I didn't draw this one. I found it on the Web and touched it up a little. I couldn't find the original guy who drew it, per the old disconnected pin on Pinterest. And she seems to have a tally on her right arm, documenting the number of her kills in combat...  and I'm not too sure if you can call her an Amazon...

Honestly, I came across that pic on the left last night [although it dates back to 2015], when I was searching for costume ideas for an African female warrior... but the thing is, different parts of Africa have had different female warrior costumes, over the centuries. And Africa is actually bigger than the USA, if you really check out the continent sizes...

Anyway, enjoy the pic! And make sure you follow me at Facebook, where I post more stuff than at the other social Websites:  http://www.facebook.com/The-art-of-Dsng-166224470060382/

CUSTOM JODIE SHOOTER G.I. JOE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!

This Jodie “Shooter” Craig has been sitting on my desk for a while. I just didn’t have time to take the pics. Anyway, as a brother, I had to make her, since there aren’t enough female Joes with chocolate skin tones...

Jodie is tagged as an expert marksman / sniper. Her origins as a character were almost a joke by some Marvel Comics editors back in 1982, which tag her as the 14th original GI Joe, but it's something you'd have to read up to understand. Not a big deal though.
The base model for Jodie was Marvel Legends Enchantress, and I sculpted some parts of her body, along with her gauntlets, her boots and her primary belt. Her second belt came from Demolition man, and I added a rear holster to that second belt for one of her handguns. Her gripping hands came from Mockingbird, while her head came from Captain Marvel Carol Danvers [so I had to give her new hair, a new skin tone and a new eye color].

There is a small 5mm magnet adhered to her back; and three of her weapons [the modified Deadpool blaster on her back, the custom shotgun in her left hand, and the sub-machinegun held in her right] can each be stored on her back, because those three weapons all have magnets placed upon them. Tamiya flat black, gloss black and metallic gray paints were used for her costume, while her hair was colored with three colors: Hull Red, light brown, and black.

When the photoshoot started, getting her to stand was a bit tricky, due to her heels. Plus I decided to add my custom G.I.Joe Stalker to the mix; so some pics show Jodie and Stalker standing together, like a mixed tag-team. Per her weapons, Jodie has a total of 6 guns, along with 1 dagger. I made a seventh custom handgun gun for her, but there was no place to store it, so I left it out. Stay tuned for more...

MAJIN ANDROID 21 - FROM THE DRAGON BALL FIGHTER Z GAME!

Haven't posted art on this blog in along time, so I thought, what the hell... I probably should put this here. I was browsing through Youtube when I found this new character, from the new Dragonball Fighter Z game.
I haven't researched her much, but I believe that Majin Android 21 is an alternate version of Android 21 [who is also a new gal in the DBZ universe, and she was presented in the new game].
I made her curvy / thick / voluptuous etc, per my art style...

More recent art gets posted more in my DSNG Facebook Page, over HERE!- Article written by the artist & author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series
