CUSTOM SCARLETT G.I. JOE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!
All right guys, I’m an OG… I’m 37 years old, and I enjoy this hobby; I mainly worked on Transformers before getting into action figures last year.… and I’ve learned to take things slow, when making these customs…
This Scarlett gal was ready over 3 weeks ago, but it just didn’t feel right, so I held off on posting her. Finally, yesterday I decided to add some more stuff and touch up her paint a lil’ bit. And that’s how she got her uzi submachine gun, the cool shoulder-pad and the radio-thingy attached on her other shoulder strap. It’s those little things that make her standout.
Anyway, the base body for my Scarlett was a fusion of Captain Marvel Carol Danvers [main body and legs] and Thundra [arms and chest]. Her vest, boots, gloves and costume were sculpted and her guns were customized. Her belt was from Deadpool and I customized it. And her custom M16 blaster rifle is held via a magnet to her back. Her hair was fully sculpted, and her ponytail also has a magnet holding it in place. Her hair was colored with two shades of Tamiya red, one as the base, and the other for blood-red highlights. The Duke custom toy [shown in some pics with Scarlett] was posted in my blog, and at my Figure Realm gallery. Stay tuned for more Joes!

CUSTOM FLINT G.I. JOE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!
Another new custom for 2017, and he is one of my hefty 6-inch G.I. Joes! This version of Flit has some special customizations for his weapon's storage, on his body [I’ll explain later].
The base body was ML Punisher, and I had to sand down his hair and then sculpt his beret hat. Then I sculpted the lower hem of his pants and his new armored best and all the pouches. His sleeves and gloves were sculpted, and then I sculpted & added a radio thingy to his right shoulder strap. His boots were fully sculpted as well, and I didn’t bother to prime him before I painted him with Tamiya paints [since his overall scheme would still be rather dark].
And now, his weapon storage: On his back, as opposed to having two Katana swords like Deadpool, I created a rectangular holster for his handguns, which are inserted on each end, and that pouch is held via a 5mm magnet upon his back. So that gun-holster-backpack is removable, and it also hosts a stored dagger, which you can see if you focus carefully on it. Then upon his right thigh, I added a double-gun holster, partly sculpted, and created with some cardboard as well. Thus he actually has two more handguns held on his right thigh.
And then on his left thigh, he has the Demolition Man’s holster, so that was pretty standard. His chest armor also has another handgun, held close to his left armpit.
In total, my Flint custom has about 8 guns, when you count the two machine-guns that he holds with both hands.
Sometimes my G.I. Joes don’t look exactly like the cartoon or movie versions; and that’s fine, because I’m creating them in my own style, while ensuring that they have high quality and cool details.
BTW, the custom Duke shown in the background of some pics was uploaded previously in my gallery... Anyway, stay tuned for more Joes! - Article written by the artist & author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series

CUSTOM DUKE G.I. JOE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!
This Duke is a new custom for 2017. I’ve made about 5 other G.I.Joes [one of them is teased in the background of the first pic] and I’ll try and post them soon. The base body was the Marvel Legends Netflix Punisher and I had to sculpt his armored vest and all of the pouches from Milliputty. His head was taken from the ML Steve Rogers toy [the one from the Civil War Three-pack] and his high-top hairstyle was sculpted.
Duke [Conrad Hauser] has about 7 guns holstered and held on his frame. Most of the guns were customized and some were attached via magnets on his back. I painted the small flag on his right arm with Sharpie markers, after sculpting its base. One gun holster came from Demolition man, while the other was fully sculpted. His belt was sculpted as well. Finally, Tamiya paints were used and I tried to weather him a little bit, with some metallic shades. Stay tuned for more!- Article written by the artist & author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series

CUSTOM ROADBLOCK G.I. JOE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS STYLE] BY DSNG!
Here's Another new one, from 2017. I’ve made a few other G.I.Joes, and I’ll try and post them soon. This Roadblock [his real name is Marvin Hinton] was based on a hybrid original design, and I drew inspiration from the character portrayed by Dwayne Johnson in the G.I.Joe Retaliation movie from 2013. The base was the ML Netflix Punisher, fused with a WWE Basic Series 68B [I think that’s the one], which presented the head that I needed.
The muscular arms were sculpted, and they were borrowed from a ML Whirlwind. And his new armored vest was sculpted as well. His left thigh’s dagger holster was sculpted, while a small 5mm magnet was installed inside the pouch affixed upon his right thigh, in order to hold the submachine gun affixed there. Plus the dagger held on his right thigh was custom made.
Since Roadblock is a Heavy Gunner, he needed a heavy weapon; so the heavy machine-gun came from the other ML Punisher toy, the Walgreens exclusive. I also gave him black gloves but I didn’t give him the movie version's beard; since I felt it wasn’t necessary, per my chosen design. He has about four guns and two daggers, plus I attached a walkie-talkie-thingy to his leftward shoulder, right on the strap of his armored vest. The gun holster for the large two-toned handgun affixed on his lower back was custom made from cardboard and duct-tape. Finally, Tamiya paints were used and I tried to weather him a little bit, with some metallic shades.
Stay tuned for more!

CUSTOM LARA CROFT FROM TOMB RAIDER LEGENDS [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!
This gal is a new custom from 2017. And she is an original design loosely based on the costume in the “Tomb Raider Legends” video game, from 2006 I think. Some fans have said that the new rebooted Tomb Raider [from 2013] seems more like “Lara Crofts daughter” than the true original character, per her looks and personality… anyway, I digress… although I do prefer the original Lara, per her wit, her courage and her attitude.
The base model for my Lara Croft was a hybrid of Marvel Legends Thundra [upper chest and shoes] and Captain Marvel [lower body, arms, thighs and head]. Her Hair was fully sculpted and a small 5mm magnet was used to connect the ponytail to the back of her head. Her boots were fully sculpted as well. Her jacket was fully sculpted along with the collar and the t-shirt. I also gave her a larger bust and a bigger butt. My custom, my choice.
Inserted within the core of her long hair is…. Craftwire, bent and shaped like an “S”. That was the embedded skeleton to guide my sculpting process. And then I used Green Stuff [the Warhammer40K standard putty, which comes as blue and yellow segments] to sculpt her long ponytail, since that putty is actually like Procreate putty in its bendable nature; but it is actually far more sticky than Procreate. And the other popular putty that I used for making her body enhancements is Milliputty, which hardens solid and doesn’t bend when it has fully cured, after like 3 hours. And Tamiya paints were used to color her.
The gun holster came from Nick Fury, while the four other handguns came from the Casting Cave website – I highly recommend that site for buying your weapons, unless you sculpt / create them yourself, which I often do. I actually modified / upgraded her two extra silver-toned handguns, holstered at her hips – initially, they were as small as the black ones held in her hands in the first pic.
The cool axe latched upon her back was bought from a guy in China, via ebay. And I created her thigh straps from rubberbands, before painting them. I also created her thigh-latched gun holsters, using cardboard that I folded, before wrapping them with duct-tape. Obviously my Lara Croft custom is thick / voluptuous; yet she stands very well, despite her special underlying boot-threads, designed for her hiking adventures. I had to sculpt that feature as well, but it was a fun project. Thanks for checking her out! And stay tuned for more!- Article written by the artist & author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series

CUSTOM TRANSFORMERS: HUNTER SHOCKWAVE TOY! [TRANSFORMERS PRIME VOYAGER SCALE]

All right, this time I wanted to paint a custom that was fully original, per the accessories. This Hunter Shockwave was built upon the Transformes Prime Voyager Shockwave toy. Initially he was painted with a purple and gray scheme. So I gave him a full repaint and spray-painted him with Tamiya silver / chrome, and then I added gold accents, along with some silver highlights. Yet he looked rather plain, per his metallic color scheme [if you are familiar with the original G1 cartoon, then you know that the Key to Vector Sigma has the power to turn matter into metal, and Megatron once tried to use it to turn the Earth into a new Cybertron, hence my Shockwave has be infused with that metallic power, and it affected his color]. Therefore, I decided to weather him, and I used Tamiya metallic grey.
Lastly I added Tamiya Gloss black, which is shiny like crude oil. It is stained upon his legs, his left blaster, his boots and a bit of his body [front and rear sides]. But the oil is from stomping upon his fallen Autobot opponents, so it had to be splashed more on his legs and lower body. In his right arm, His handheld arm-cannon came from the Voyager Sharkticon Megatron, the one with the awful colors. And he has another lengthy custom blaster cannon attached to his forearm. Hence he can generate a special scissors-effect with those two blasters on his right arm – so one cannon can aim upwards, and the other can shoot downwards simultaneously. He has some extra three-part Gundam wings, which are attached to his rear tank-treads, on the left and right sides of his standard backpack. His shoulders have some new mini-gattling guns as well, pointing upwards.

Along with two Dr. Wu swords and a small shotgun holstered at his back [placed vertically right beside one of those swords], Shockwave also has a large blaster, sourced from the Marvel Legends Cable toy, adhered via a magnet to his left arm-cannon, which replaces his left arm. And that left arm-cannon was heavily customized with putty and polystyrene pieces, so it is bulkier than the standard one.
[You may need to click the words "Read More" slightly below and on the right, to see the rest of this long article]
Thanks for checking him out! And here is the short story that I wrote about him:
####
After growing utterly loathsome of the endless failures of his liege, Shockwave the Scientist returned to Cyberton, only to hear that Megatron had finally been defeated by Optimus Prime and his Autobot strike team. Yet a certain new leader of the Deceptions has arisen here on Cybertron, one that Shockwave does not trust, per the dark energon that constantly radiates through his optical sensors….
Forlorn and frustrated by the cards that had been dealt to him by the merciless hand of fate, Shockwave turned his back on his surviving battle brothers, and he departed on a pilgrimage across the ravaged robotic planet. While being relentlessly pursued by Ultra-Magnus and some of the reassembled Wreckers, Shockwave encountered the scattered hordes of Tarn and the other former members of the infamous Decepticon Justice Division, who were hiding within a crashed Bulk Cargo Dropship, located at the rear of a spaceship graveyard site with numerous scattered wrecks. Within the main hull of the rusty derelict transport, Tarn and his crew offered Shockwave a hand of fellowship.

And now, with new power surging through his cyber-frame, Shockwave became a relentless slayer; a slayer of all those bots that opposed his new trajectory, whether they be Autobot or Decepticon! His boots have been stained with oil, the lifeblood of those that he has slain. And his soul has been tainted with pride, as his lust for supremacy has arisen. Tarn and his supporters has fled from him in fear. And after their brutal skirmishes against Shockwave, the Wreckers have also started falling back, as they send out distress calls for reinforcements. The body of Springer lies fallen in Shockwave’s rear wake, while the skull of Bulkhead is a disdained crumpled trophy buried beneath his feet. And the fleeing Ultra-Magnus has sworn to avenge his fallen brothers one day...
And now, with his unwavering mindset, Shockwave forges onward, moving on a new savage path; a path that will lead him to a confrontation with the current leader of the Decepticons… Galvatron! Yet that will not be an easy task… hence the Decepticon scientist decided to utilize one of his cloning chambers, similar to the ones he utilized for reviving the Predacons back on Earth… and soon he contrived the two Megatronus Repliods, clones which are fully submissive to his will!

CUSTOM ARMORED DEATHSTROKE TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS STYLE] BY DSNG!
Here's another custom from this year 2017. And this is my second Armored Deathstroke custom, since he is one of my top 5 – 7 DC Comics characters. BTW, the first Deathstroke I made last year [2016] was recently posted in this DSNG blog, over HERE. And it looks different, since it didn’t have the same armor like this guy.
The base figure for this Armored Deathstroke was Marvel Legends Blizzard, and I had to fully sculpt the new body armor for him. Some of the weapons came from the Casting Cave Website [which had the perfect duplicates of Deadpool’s weapons that I needed], and some of the other weapons were custom made [like the long hybrid staff / nightstick, which is holstered at his back]. His hands came from Marvel Legends Whirlwind, and I cut the plastic holing down the trigger finger, thus setting it free. The deep-sea blue and flat orange paints for this Armored Deathstroke were done with Tamiya, before he was weathered with silver streaks from acrylic paint and also silver sharpie markers. Next, the gun holsters were cut and shaped from slim cardboard [used for posters or presentation projects], then wrapped with duct tape, and then painted wit metallic gray, and finally glued to his body at various points.
And his helmet was custom made with putty layers. The blaster adhered on his back is held via a small 5mm magnet, and I had to sculpt the back-holster for his custom nightstick.
In one of the pics, he is holding a long "Dr. Wu Double Pole sword" purchased from China [I got it via ebay; I think its "two for 10 bucks"]. Stay tuned for more!

CUSTOM SNIPER DEADSHOT TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS SCALE] BY DSNG!
Been posting a lot of old stuff lately. But this is something new... I built this sleek guy earlier this year [2017]. Deadshot is one of my fav DC Comics characters, and I like just between 5 to 7 of them, because I'm very picky ;)
And this Sniper Deadshot took a long time, per the details I added. The base figure was ML Captain America from the Civil War 3-pack. The modified head came from Disco Iron-Man [I think it's Mark 27] and the hands came from Marvel Legends Whirlwind. His body-armor was sculpted from putty, and his arm-cannons were sculpted as well, while I cut and used the interior tube of an empty ink pen to create the slim central gun-barrels of his arm-cannons. The extra gun cartridges on his thighs were sculpted and glued into place, and I did some sculpting for his shoulder-pads and boots as well.
Then I painted him Tamiya gloss red. And his entire body had a base coat of black. His red body was weathered with black shoe polish... yeah, that's right... that stuff is almost like solid paint, which can be cleaned off with a wet napkin, before it dries... I like it, but I just don't like using shoe-wax / shoe polish for adding tones to human muscles, like on the body of a He-man or Conan, because black is not good for that... technically, a shade of brown polish is more realistic and it looks better in that scenario ;)
Anyway, Deadshot's handguns and his right thigh's gun harness came from ML Deadpool, and I also bought some more handguns from Casting cave!! [Shout out to Corey!! Thanks man!!].
And Deadshot's customized sniper rifle came from a McFarlane Walking Dead toy [it was some chick, I can't remember her name]. But the strap of the chick's machine gun, and its grip, both had to be enlarged before I could use it. The AK47 weapon latched on his back [attached via a magnet] came from ebay, some guy in China was selling them. And the cool katana blade came from China as well, per the Dr. Wu line of 3rd Party Transformers accessories.
At one point, I thought I'd make my version of the entire Suicide Squad, based loosely on the animated movie called "Assault on Arkham", which was released back in 2014, before the Will Smith and Margot Robbie Suicide Squad movie was released in 2016... But I dunno.... we'll see how things go. Just search for "DSNG Custom Killer Frost" and you'll see the first member of the squad that I created last year [She was posted HERE, in my DSNG blog]...- Article written by the artist & author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series

CUSTOM MARVEL LEGENDS WARZONE CABLE TOY BY DSNG!
Almost everybody that gets into custom figures has probably done their version of this tough guy, so I decided to add mine to the mix...
Cable used to be one of my fav comic characters, back in the late-90s. And since he's a time-traveler, his comic books seem to come and go like the wind. The original toy base model is shown Here, so that you can compare it to what I did...
This Warzone Cabletook a long time. I did him halfway and used him for my Domino and Deadpool custom pics over Here.
Anyway, I built this guy upon the original base and added his new armor pieces with putty, along with shoulder armor and shin-guards. His X-belt was sculpted and he was given lots of guns, along with a Gears of War Blaster that was adhered via a magnet to his back. All the silver parts were custom-made. And I added a "nano-engineered cloth" around his mouth, since it's a makeshift air-filter intended to counteract the smoke that he encounters in the futuristic wasteland.
I customized the barrel of the rocket launcher that's added to his back, via a drilled hole and a matching peg that the long weapon came with [I think the weapon came from my Deadpool fodder]. I also customized the handgun that the Cable toy came with, adding a Gundam-model barrel to its underside. Strapped around his chest is the belt of the BAF Juggernaut, and I added some bullet rounds and other straps to it.
After painting his guns silver with Tamiya paints, I added a gray-toned gun-metal wash to them, to make them look weathered. Then his entire body was weathered. And his silver armor pieces were weathered as well. You can observe the left-side and right-side comparison images above, to see what I did to one of his arms [per the added armband and the gauntlet]. He stands very well, and he has about 5 guns and 2 daggers. The holster on his left hip was fully sculpted and glued into position. Stay tuned for more!- Article written by the artist & author of the DSNG Sci Fi Series

CUSTOM LADY ZORA TOY [MARVEL LEGENDS STYLE] BY DSNG!
I made this custom last year [2016]. I would do some work on her and then put her aside, since I was learning the customizing process back then, and my job takes up a lot of my time.
Lady Zora is an elite warrior maiden, an ancient Paragon being from the ebook tales of the DSNG Sci Fi Series. She is a powerful clan leader with a motherly heart, and she is known for her gentleness, which is in sharp contrast to her incredible brute strength.
I used the 6-inch Marvel Legends Captain Marvel [Carol Danvers] body as the base figure - that's pretty much my fav female base-build, although I use others like Lady Thor and Spider-woman. The two axes came from that same Captain Marvel's package, for the Odin BAF. Her large broad sword came from The Hound, a Game of Thrones toy. But I had to customize the grip and repaint the whole thing.
Her light body-armor, her belt, her gauntlets and her shin-guards were all sculpted and painted lemon yellow, which resemble a bright gold; while the blades on both sides of the Axes were customized with putty and painted with the “old gold” shade from Tamiya paints. And her cape came from the ML Scarlet Witch toy. Plus I created a holster for her sword, via a folded piece of cardboard, which was colored and placed inside her cape and glued in place. And when she holds her broad sword, she can store one of her axes behind her, within the cape.
I used Tamiya paints for her whole body, and some slightly bendy procreate putty for her hair. The reddish gem placed in a gold setting upon her cape was sculpted and painted with a gloss-red shade. A cloth cape probably was not the right thing to use in this custom, because I needed the strong background of a solid cape for holstering her sword, since the sword was not held by any sheath that was magnetized to her back. Additionally, I took some pics of Zora without her plastic cape. Those pics look a bit plane, but she still has her sensual & strong vibe.
