I signed books at Bull Moose on Saturday, and it was my first time showing up to an event without a built-in audience. Sure, I'd publicized the event on Twitter and FB, but I really didn't know who (if anyone) was going to show up.

There were times when I felt a bit lonely and didn't know what to do with myself. (FYI: in one of those moments, I took Maureen Johnson's The Last Little Blue Envelope down from the shelf and started reading it - it's awesome!) There were other *fantastic* scenarios...

Follow Friday-ing - Rooting for the Villain?

I'm back on the Follow Friday bandwagon this week!

The question at hand: Have you ever wanted a villain to win at the end of a story? If so, which one?

This is a really interesting topic for me these days, given the fact that my book offers an ambiguous take on villains and hero/ines. Are the Furies villains? Do we root for them because Em and Chase have made such terrible mistakes? Or do we root for Em, Chase, and everyone else who has ever made a mistake and wished they could take it back?

Okay guys. My Envy revisions are due *gulp* tomorrow. I've been working all day and I'm taking this mini-blogging-break to say hi and catch you up on what's been happening over the last few days!

What to do on the day after your book comes out if you're Elizabeth Miles

1) Drink some Alka-Seltzer Cold Plus - your throat kills and you feel under-the-weather, probably because you've been slightly overextended.

2) Have "breakfast" - tortilla chips dipped in salsa and a spoonful of peanut butter. Please don't judge.

3) Walk to work. When you arrive, get some work done. 

4) Realize that you have one more hardcover copy of Fury to GIVE AWAY and decide to host another contest - this one with more exciting rules. Winner gets:

So far: two pieces of cinnamon raisin toast with butter from Arabica, + coffee. Later: sushi lunch? Fancy dinner? Who knows.

Fury Book Release - TOMORROW!!!!

Well, my debut novel is officially on bookstore shelves tomorrow. Feeling weird. Feeling nervous and excited and giddy and, like, WHOA!
