Citizen's Eco-Drive Mickey Golf Watch Is 50% Off Right Now, and It's Perfect for Sports-Loving Disney Fans

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

To some, a stylish watch might mean a Rolex or Bulova. To others, a unique pickup from a lesser-known brand. Yet all of it comes down to having that perfect combination of classic elegance and a dash of playfulness that you can feel confident and relaxed with. Few brands balance the two like Citizen, which regularly features fun pop-culture characters in its otherwise classic timepieces. The most popular has to be Mickey Mouse, and right now, one of the brand's most illustrious Mickey watches is half off on Amazon.

The Citizen Eco-Drive Mickey Mouse “Tee Time” Watch is just $213 for this limited-time Amazon deal—50% off the normal $425 price. It has an incredibly high 4.7 Amazon rating, and 90% of shoppers rate it at 4 stars and above. Furthermore, shoppers like this watch once they have it in their hands; Amazon notes that it has fewer returns than other watches like it.

Citizen’s Mickey Tee Time watch has a stainless steel case and band, featuring a green dial that doubles as the fairway and green for Mickey’s driver. Every element is designed to draw in your eyes, and there’s an aesthetic playfulness even to its sedentary parts. Mickey's post-swing stance sits between the 7 and 8 o'clock markers, projecting a bouncy line in a striking yellow that arches over the midpoint of the watch. From there, it bounces off a date window at the 3, before ending at the struck ball, ready to sink into a flagged hole. As you check the date or watch the second hand move, your eyes will be drawn to this suggested movement again and again; a small meditative joy.

One shopper said they "wanted a green face plate just to be a little different. My wife suggested I get a better watch this time, and not any ‘Mickey Mouse’ watch I might find. That did it, there it was: A green-faced watch with Mickey right there hitting a golf ball, my favorite sport. She had to laugh, but liked the watch after all. Go Mickey!” Sometimes playfulness is a hole in one after all.

Another shopper discussed the quality of the watch. “I like the face design and color, and also the concept of Eco-Drive. The movement is just beautiful and accurate.” Many Citizen watches are Eco-Drive, meaning they are light-powered and gain energy from both the sun and other light types.

Getting a Citizen Mickey Tee Time watch for just $213 is a great deal, but it is one that will end soon. Pick up yours today before it does.

More Details Emerge in Teen's Arrest in Murder of Maine Paddleboarder

A murder in Maine that seems like it was taken right out of a Stephen King novel has shaken the communities surrounding Crawford Pond. 17-year-old Deven Young was charged with murder after 48-year-old Sunshine Stewart went missing during a paddleboard trip.

Stewart and a friend were staying at the Mic Mac Campground in early July when she decided to go for a paddleboard ride. Her friend went to look for her by the lake when she didn't return to the cabin later that night, sparking a week's long search by camp staff and local police.

Campground owner Katharine Lunt told ABC News about the details surrounding the search efforts, "we first thought that maybe she was hurt," she said, "maybe she had been hit by a boat. We had no idea why she hadn't returned."

Lunt details law enforcement and her own staff sifting through security footage around the lake, trying to catch a glimpse of the missing Stewart or somebody who may have intruded into the campsite and hurt her. "I was looking for a stranger, somebody out of the ordinary," Lunt said, "absolutely nobody was looking for a child."

Reports claim that the defendant Deven Young seemed eager to help police find the missing woman. Lunt recalls him bringing investigators on "a wild goose chase," taking them in the opposite direction of Stewart's body to avoid its discovery.

Lunt apparently stated that the 17-year-old was "acting totally normal" for two weeks following Stewart's disappearance, "it's haunting," she said. She suggested that his own insistence on helping the police led them to suspect Young himself. Two weeks after Stewart's disappearance, on July 16, Young was interrogated and later arrested and charged with murder.

The defendant is currently in a juvenile detention center and awaiting trial. He pleaded not guilty to his charges. State prosecutors in Maine are looking to try the 17-year-old as an adult, which would give Young a harsher and longer prison sentence should he be found guilty.

A report published on Nov. 9, 2016 indicated that Cocles, the beach where the beloved star drowned, was once named "the most dangerous beach in the Atlantic Coast because of the rip currents as well as the irregular conditions on the beach."

The report in the Costa Rica News, viastarted with an ominous warning:

"Take note of some of the most dangerous beaches in Costa Rica, and stay safe during your next vacation."

Another dangerous beach listed is Bejuco, "with 21 deaths from 2001 to 2015."

As previously reported, Warner, who played Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992, was on vacation in Costa Rica with his wife and daughter. It's unclear if they witnessed the heartbreaking incident. He was swimming in Cocles, a beach in Limon, Costa Rica, when tragedy struck.

ABC News reported on Monday that Warner got caught by a rip current Sunday afternoon and drowned. Bystanders came to his rescue and brought him to shore, to no avail. People reported Warner was "declared lifeless" on the beach. He was 54.

Not only are there dangerous and potentially deadly rip currents in Cocles, there was also a persistent problem with no lifeguards on duty.

Adam Sandler Admits His Taylor Swift Fandom at 'Happy Gilmore 2' Premiere

If there’s any person in Hollywood completely comfortable in their own skin, it’s Adam Sandler. That stood true as always when Sandler arrived at the Happy Gilmore 2 premiere on Monday, July 21.

While Sandler has fielded questions for weeks, or months for that matter, about the highly anticipated sequel to his 1996 hit film, the topics ranged more than ever at the movie's premiere.

However, when the topic of Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift and her diehard fans, the Swifties, came up, Sandler was happy to discuss all of the above. Even beyond that, the beloved actor also had no problem putting his own fandom on full display.

Access Hollywood asked Sandler if the Swifties were behind Kelce's role in Happy Gilmore 2, to which he replied that they "certainly were happy when Travis was in it."

Then, unprompted, Sandler detailed his fandom of Swift's music.

A post shared by Access Hollywood (@accesshollywood)

"Me and one of my daughters drove to—she was working on something, [and] we listened to 'All Too Well,' which is 10 minutes, three times in a row," Sandler said. "I swear to God. And it's tremendous, by the way...It got me rockin'."

The honesty from Sandler is always refreshing. Additionally, hearing that the 58-year-old actor is a Swiftie will only add to the excitement of fans of Kelce and Swift's relationship, who are eager to see the Kansas City Chiefs star in Happy Gilmore 2.

This was also not the first time Sandler had mentioned Swift, as he offered high praise to the 35-year-old pop star in a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"Taylor is so damn nice to my family," Sandler said after confirming that the 14-time Grammy winner had met his children. "My kids met Taylor just a bunch of times over the years, and she's ridiculously nice to them and warm."

Monday night's premiere brought plenty of familiar faces back together, and the official release date for Happy Gilmore 2 is set for July 25.

Bill Cosby Gives Strong Reaction to Malcom-Jamal Warner Death

Malcolm Jamal-Warner led a more than 40-year-long career as an actor and director in TV and film.

That all came to an end when he tragically drowned while on vacation with his daughter in Costa Rica.

The 54-year-old officially died of asphyxia, police told ABC 6.

Bill Cosby, famous for his star role on The Cosby Show, among other things, said the tragedy brought back horrible memories of when his own son was murdered, according to TMZ.

Before getting into Cosby's story, it's important to first note that he called Warner "brilliant."

Cosby's thoughts came via his rep, Andrew Wyatt, who said when Cosby got the news of Warner's death, he was reminded of how he felt when he learned of his own son's death.

He was filming on the set of The Cosby Show in January 1997 when he got a call informing him that Ennis Cosby was shot and killed in a robbery attempt.

He remembered when Ennis and Warner used to play together when they were younger. Wyatt added that Cosby felt the same way when he learned of Warner's death as when he learned of his son's.

Cosby also recalled a time when Warner visited the Cosby family's property in Massachusetts and made his relatives laugh hard than they ever had, Wyatt said.

Cosby also told ABC News in an interview that Warner "was very professional."

"He was always a great studier, and I enjoyed working with him very much," he said.

Cosby also said Warner "calls here regularly," talking about their close relationship.

"He was very professional," he added. "He always knew his part... He always knew his lines, and he always knew where to go."

Warner will leave a lasting impression for years to come and was a role model for young kids growing up in the projects, many of whom wanted to be just like Warner and have a family like the Huxtables, Cosby told Wyatt.

Warner leaves behind his mother, wife and daughter, all of whom he rarely spoke about in public. But it's clear from at least one post about his daughter that he was extremely proud to be her father and cherished every moment he had raising her.

His acting career began in at least 1982 and lead to a litany of memorable roles, .

Popular Above-Ground Pool Recalled After Deaths of 9 Children

More than 5.2 million above-ground swimming pools sold across the U.S. and Canada are being recalled due to a potential drowning risk after nine children died over a 15-year span, according to a press release by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada.

The recalled pools, which includes popular brands like Bestway, Intex, Polygroup and Coleman, were sold by retailers as far back as 2002 and come equipped with compression straps which “may create a foothold” for small children, giving them access to the pool even when the ladder is removed.

The CPSC believes that nine children under the age of 3 drowned after gaining access to the pools via said compression straps, which wrap around the outside of the product, according to the release.

"These straps wrap around the pool on the outside of the supporting poles, and may create a foothold, allowing a child to access the pool and drown," the CPSC states in the report.

Those deaths occurred between 2007 and 2022 and involved children between the ages of 22 months and 3 years old, according to the report. The products have been sold at a variety of popular retailers, including Walmart, Target, Costco and Amazon, although the recall specifies pools that are 48 inches in height or taller.

The affected products include:

According to the press release, the recalled pools were manufactured in China and have been sold since 2002 at stores nationwide, including the following: Walmart, Target, Sears, Lowe’s, Kmart, Toys “R” Us, Sam’s Club, The Home Depot, Big Lots, Costco and BJ’s, among others, as well as online at Amazon.com, Wayfair.com and Bestway USA, Intex, Funsicle and Summer Waves websites.

Consumers in possession of any of the models of recalled swimming pools are urged to immediately contact Bestway, Intex and/or Polygroup to receive a free repair kit, which will consist of a rope to replace the compression strap. If you are unable to do so, consumers are urged to immediately drain the pool until the repair is made.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner's Wife Begins Heartbreaking Task

New details are emerging about Cosby Show actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner's wife.

It turns out that Warner was vacationing with his wife and daughter when he drowned in Costa Rica.

That's according to NBC News, which also reported that Warner's wife has now started a very difficult task.

His wife "is in the process of trying to bring his body back to the United States for a planned funeral," a source told NBC News on July 21.

The actor died in a tragic accident on a Costa Rican beach, NBC News reported.

Over the years, Warner shared family photos on his Instagram page, but he never revealed the names of his wife or their 8-year-old daughter.

He posted a photo on Instagram in 2020 that showed him with a woman, each holding his daughter's hand, and wrote, "Goodbye 2020! No matter how badly 2020 affected you, it showed what you’re made of. You’re here. You survived it, even if only barely. Be good to yourself. Be kind to yourself. Love yourself in the way you deserve to be loved. S/O to Relationships that ended during quarantine, the pandemic did you a favor."

Warner also posted photos of his daughter on many occasions but typically hid her face from complete view.

A current pulled him out to sea while he was swimming, NBC reported.

According to ABC News, Warner's official cause of death was asphyxiation. He was rescued by bystanders who brought him to shore, where there were attempts to resuscitate him, but was too late, the network reported.

Warner gave rare comments about his wife, without naming her, on the Hot and Bothered podcast.

He initially didn't want kids but changed his mind when he realized that “even if something happened and we weren’t together romantically anymore, she’d still be the person I’d want to raise children with," according to the podcast.
