Will Publix Be Open on Labor Day 2025?
The last official holiday weekend of the summer is upon us, and if you're fortunate enough to live near a Publix store, you may be planning a stop to load up on celebration items like their famous "Pub Subs", deli-fried chicken and fresh bakery cakes. After all, that lineup is what makes for a successful party.
You may be wondering, given it's a federal holiday, if Publix is open on Labor Day, September 1, 2025, and if they are, if their store hours remain the same as usual.

"Holiday hours of operation will be posted in stores with adequate notice. We value our associates and want to provide them time around the holidays to spend with their loved ones. We hope you understand!", said a Publix representative.
Publix also confirmed they close early on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, but not on Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day; their hours remain the same on those days.

While we are trying to plan ahead for the weekend, sometimes (okay, most of the time), we need to make that last-minute stop, and we're glad we can.

According to Huberman’s website, the unique technique uses your body to help relax your mind.
“These relaxation techniques use the body to affect the mind: rather than trying to think your way into feeling relaxed, you lean into a state of physical relaxation that your nervous system then matches. Whereas we often think of being awake or being asleep as a binary, research has shown it is more accurate to consider it a spectrum, with NSDR landing somewhere in the middle,” Huberman explains.
The practice is done while typically listening to guided audio for breathing and in a comfortable position, such as lying down. Ultimately, the goal of NSDR is to remain in what Huberman highlights as the “liminal state” between wake and sleeping.
Andrew Huberman Highlights Key Benefits of Non-Sleep Deep RestThere are several noteworthy positives that come from NSDR, but two areas it helps are likely pivotal for many people who enjoy taking naps—providing an energy boost and improving focus.
“NSDR is a great tool for those who can’t nap without feeling groggy or grumpy or find that it disrupts their sleep at night. An NSDR session replenishes dopamine levels and decreases cortisol, which supports the optimal mental state of alert yet calm,” Huberman writes in the guide.
He goes on to explain that while NSDR doesn’t directly impact the pathways responsible for focus, the practice itself makes it easier to get into a focused mental state afterward.

Functional beverages are the latest to adorn their shelves, which are popping up at retailers across the country.
Functional beverages are those with added ingredients that may provide health benefits beyond their basic nutritional properties. Foods with probiotics, antioxidants and fiber are considered functional, for example.
Pop and Bottle Oat Milk Lattes Are Dropping in Aldi StoresPop & Bottle Oat Milk Lattes, hitting Aldi shelves, contain not just one, but a host of functional ingredients. Their main ingredients include oat milk, dates, cold brew coffee or green tea and matcha, organic natural flavor, Himalayan pink salt, gum acacia and rosemary extract.
Each can is 100-, 110- or 120-calories and offers 2-grams of fiber and 1- or 2-grams of protein with 0-grams of added sugar. They’re available in Caramel Cold Brew, Mocha Cold Brew, Vanilla Cold Brew and Matcha Green Tea.
The functional ingredients vary depending on which canned latte you choose.

The Vanilla Cold Brew flavor contains marine collagen, which may help with bone and muscle health, per the NIH.
What Are Fans Saying About Oat Milk Lattes?Pop & Bottle Oat Milk Lattes are sold at other retailers, and there are mostly positive reviews. One Target customer said "I absolutely loved my vanilla latte. It was light, very smooth, and tasty. It’s my new go to." Another stated, "Great tasting coffee drink with added collagen as a bonus!" referring to the vanilla flavor.
"Pleasantly surprised that the flavor was very smooth and actually enjoyable. I am not a fan of canned coffee products usually as they tend to just taste off compared to their fresh counterparts, but this was enjoyable, especially considering there is no added sugar and the addition of collagen (from fish and seaweed I'm assuming) that did not add a weird aftertaste", explained a Mocha fan.

Kathy Garver, the beloved star who played Cissy Davis on the 1960s sitcom Family Affair, announced that her husband, David Travis, has died.
The actress, 79, who played orphaned teen Cissy Davis on the CBS sitcom from 1966 to 1971, shared the sad news in a Facebook post on Aug. 30. Garver posted a series of family photos with her husband and their son, Reid.
She captioned the post with, “I am sad to report that my beloved husband of 44 years David Travis passed away at 3:00 this morning losing his brave battle with cancer.”
As of 2015, Garver had been living in the Bay Area with her husband, whom she married in 1981, per the Los Angeles Times.
The following year, she told The Readerthat she met her future husband, an Omaha native, on a tennis court in Palm Springs.
Kathy Garver Revealed What Made Her Marriage WorkIn a 2021 interview with Closer Weekly, Garver shared the secret to her four-decade marriage. “You have to really like the person,” she said. “My husband is a very nice person, in some ways nicer than me! So you have to like them, and recognize their niceness, and also, we have separate bank accounts! I think that is very important. I couldn’t imagine having a shared bank account with someone and needing to ask, ‘Oh, what did you spend money on there?’ I’m very independent and it works for us.”
On social media, fans offered Garver support following her husband’s death.
“My deepest condolences on your loss, Miss Garver,” one commentator wrote on Facebook.
“So very handsome, beautiful family,” another wrote.
On Family Affair, Garver played big sister to twins Buffy (Anissa Jones) and Jody (Johnny Whitaker). Jones died of a drug overdose at age 18 in 1976.
Garver continues to work as an actress, most recently in the 2024 movie Christmas Romance at the Roanoke Ranch.
