Was 4Chan Hacked? 'Down Reports' Explode
Unconfirmed reports that the controversial messageboard 4Chan was hacked circulated on April 15, 2025, as "down reports" escalated.
According to DownDetector, the reported problems were listed as being 72% website, 24% server connection, and 4% posting.
The down reports spiked around 10 p.m. on April 14 and continued on April 15.
According to Reuters, 4Chan is a "notorious internet messageboard."
Unconfirmed posts "circulating online" reported that 4chan was hacked, Reuters reported. Some posts "said that an alleged hacker involved had revealed identifying details of the site's moderators," Reuters reported.
According to Wired, the hack reports emerged when "a previously banned board on 4chan briefly appeared online and the site was defaced with a message saying, 'U GOT HACKED XD.'"
"4chan is an anonymous message board that enables often offensive and hateful content. The content leaked, if genuine, would remove some of the anonymity from 4chan administrators, moderators, and janitors,” Ian Gray, analysis and research director at the security firm Flashpoint, told Wired.
Though the exact details of the situation have not been confirmed, community infighting seems to have spilled out in a breach of the notorious image board. https://t.co/OR2AOU6RoG
— WIRED Science (@WIREDScience) April 15, 2025
"The image board’s billing as an 'anonymous' platform may have given users a 'false sense of security,'" Gray told Wired. “Some users may have registered their email addresses years ago when they were less aware or concerned about their operational security."
Screenshots "showing what appears to be 4chan’s back end circulated online," TechCrunch reported. According to TechCrunch, data showed "the site’s alleged back end, source code, and templates to ban users."
According to Mashable, social media users "latched onto the alleged last post they reportedly saw before the site went down." It's a picture of Jack Black in the Minecraft Movie with the phrase, "Chicken Jockey," Mashable reported.
Cause of Death Revealed for Iconic Gameshow Host Wink Martindale
Iconic gameshow host and lifelong friend of Elvis Presley, Wink Martindale, passed away Tuesday, his publicist announced. The Hollywood icon was 91 years old.
In the same announcement that revealed his passing, Martindale's publicist gave some more background on the health issues that the legendary host had been facing in recent years.
"He'd been battling lymphoma for about a year, and was doing well, according to his rep Brian Mayes," reported TMZ. "But about 2 weeks ago, Wink took a turn for the worst, and was in a hospital getting treatment when he died."
“He was doing pretty well up until a couple weeks ago,” Mayes told The Associated Press in a phone interview from Martindale's native Memphis.
Lymphoma is a cancer of the body's lymphatic system, which plays a role in fighting diseases. The Mayo Clinic notes that the lymphatic system includes the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, tonsils and bone marrow. Lymphoma is typically divided into two subtypes: Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin.
Martindale rose to fame as the host of Tic-Tac-Dough, and would also go on to host shows like High Rollers, Debt, Headline Chasers, Trivial Pursuit, What's This Song?, The Last Word, and The Great Getaway Game
Legendary Game Show Host, Lifelong Friend of Elvis Dead at 91
Wink Martindale, the host of a number of iconic gameshows and a lifelong friend of Elvis Presley, has died at 91. TMZ reported the news, citing his publicist.
Martindale passed away after battling lymphoma for the past year, his publicist said. He was reportedly surrounded by family, including his wife, Sandra Martindale, in the California city of Rancho Mirage.
Martindale was a Tennessee native, and cut his teeth in Memphis radio. In 1954, he became the first to play "That's All Right," the debut single by a then-local artist named Elvis Presley. He even conducted what was reportedly the King's first radio interview, and became close friends with him until Presley's death. His wife was even one of Elvis' former girlfriends.

“Elvis is responsible for me marrying Wink,” Sandra said in a 2015 interview. “When [Martindale] said he was from Tennessee, I said, ‘He must be a nice guy,’ because I loved the state, I loved all the guys, I loved everything in the state of Tennessee because Elvis was such a wonderful part of my life.”
In the late 1960s he moved to Hollywood, where he found breakout fame hosting Tic-Tac-Dough. He would also host shows like High Rollers, Debt, Headline Chasers, Trivial Pursuit, What's This Song?, The Last Word, and The Great Getaway Game. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006.
In fact, a revival of Tic-Tac-Dough was announced just yesterday, set to air on the Game Show Network hosted by Brooke Burns.
Martindale is survived by three daughters, numerous grandchildren, and his wife, Sandra.
United Airlines Announces Important Change for Travelers
United Airlines released its Q1 earnings report on April 15, and between all the numbers and statistics about its revenue, the airline also announced a change for passengers starting soon.
In the earnings report, the airline said that it's seeing increased demand for premium seats and international trips, but it's going to scale back on another offering.
United Airlines will lower their number of domestic flights, due to decreased demand, with the airline saying they will be "removing 4 percentage points of scheduled domestic capacity starting in the third quarter of 2025." United also said that it's changing how often its fleet flies, most obviously on days that travel is slow, and that will happen through the end of 2025.
"United is removing 4 percentage points of scheduled domestic capacity starting in the third quarter of 2025," the airline said in a statement. "United is also continuing to make prudent adjustments to the utilization rate of its fleet, including ongoing reductions in off-peak flying on lower demand days."
They added, "The airline expects to continue this approach into the fourth quarter of 2025."
United had some good news to share in their earnings report. Despite the airline reducing domestic flights, they stated that customer demand is growing. International travel, they said, has increased 5%, and bookings for premium cabins have gone up 17% compared to 2024.
"United reported a first-quarter profit, with record revenue of $13.2 billion, and total revenue per available seat mile growth of 0.5% year-over-year," the airline said in their report.
United also stressed that the future is "impossible" to predict amid the current climate, stating, "the Company's outlook is dependent on the macro environment which the Company believes is impossible to predict this year with any degree of confidence" in a securities filing.
United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby added that the airline "will continue to execute our multiyear plan that has allowed United to thrive in any demand environment."

Kettlebells tend to get overshadowed by their more popular sibling, dumbbells, but that doesn’t mean they’re not important. Bowflex SelectTech 840 Adjustable Kettlebell, $130 (was $199) on Amazon
The SelectTech 840 combines a set of six kettlebells into one unit. It features a classic kettlebell grip, and a dial on the top allows you to quickly adjust the resistance. There are six increments to choose from: 8, 12, 20, 25, 35, and 40 pounds. The included stand holds the weight you’re not using, and it’s super easy to change the resistance between sets: Just place the kettlebell back on the stand, turn the dial to your desired weight, and pick it up again. And that’s it—no gimmicks, no extra features, just a highly functional kettlebell that’ll help you get a good workout.

First Drive: 2025 Audi RS eTron GT Performance Is the Most Powerful Audi Ever
My right foot is already pushing the pedal to the metal as I lift my left off the brake for a hot launch at Speed Vegas. The Audi RS eTron GT explodes down the track with such force and speed my vision goes blurry at the edges. It’s an almost cinematic effect, but this isn’t a movie…right?
In reality, the 2025 RS eTron GT Performance is so quick off the line it’s a bit scary for those of us without a Formula 1 license. Thanks to battery and electric motor upgrades, the new RS eTron GT Performance can throw down an insane 912 horsepower, up 275 from the previous generation, and catapult from 0–60 mph in an advertised 2.4 seconds (…it's probably at least a couple of ticks faster), which is 0.8 quicker than the 2024 version. That’s serious speed and those supercar specs now make this screaming sedan the most powerful and fastest accelerating Audi ever.
The Proof Is in the Electrons
Courtesy Image
The new 97 kWh lithium-ion battery, compared to the previous 83.7 kWh pack, is actually the same physical size, but with a revised chemistry ratio of nickel, manganese, and cobalt. The result gives the cells increased energy density and 12 percent more battery power with a 25 pound weight savings in the RS’s battery and charging system.
The front motor is mostly the same as in the previous generation, but with some modified electronics. On the other hand—and axle—the new rear motor is smaller and 22 pounds lighter. Coupled with battery upgrade, the duo not only offers the kind of incredible power that requires great responsibility, but also better range—278 vs. 249 miles on a full charge.
Speaking of, the time it takes to juice the batteries on a DC fast charger from 10 to 80 percent has quickened from 22 to 18 minutes.

Drive Time

On the road, the RS eTron is quick, nimble and spacious. But in the driver’s seat, the first thing you notice are the two red buttons on the wheel. Sadly, neither controls a tractor beam for moving slow pokes from the left lane. The one on the right changes the driving mode from “comfort” to “RS,” which, as you’d expect, sharpens throttle response and tightens the standard two-chamber, two-valve air suspension. The other is a push-to-pass button. In most driving situations, the RS eTron is using a more reasonable 818 hp, but push the red button on the left and you can engage all 912 ponies from the battery for up to 10 seconds at speeds above 19 mph.
It’s a nice feature for dispatching dawdlers on Nevada’s two lane highways with ease. But go full throttle even a breath too long and it’s far too easy to find yourself moving at “Hi Honey, I need bail money,” speeds. Top speed is limited to 155 mph… and that’s probably for the best, because this thing could get there mach schnell.
After about four hours of driving the new RS eTron from Las Vegas out to Red Rock Canyon, up to Mount Charleston and back again, the steering proved sharp, precise with a near-perfect weight. In RS mode and the active suspension steeled, the eTron ripped through the corners and elevation changes with incredible, sports-car-like composure and next to no body roll - impressive for a 5,200lb four-door and an obvious testament to suspension tuning and torque vectoring!

Courtesy Image
In laid-back, cruising conditions, the RS eTron was supple and incredibly comfortable. Chalk that up to the air suspension’s equally impressive potential for elegant ride quality. The cabin is well-appointed, thoughtfully laid out, and easy to live with. The central touch screen and digital instrumentation are intuitive and efficient. The heated, air-cooled seats are supportive plus a massaging function comes standard.
The test model we drove was outfitted with a few optional extras including the $8,400 Forged Carbon package, which adds external and internal design elements in forged carbon fiber (front and rear fascia, door inlay, mirror housings). Our tester also added the ultra-grabby carbon ceramic option and the Dynamic Plus package with active dampers and rear-axle steering.
As with most sporty EVs, paddles on the steering wheel toggle between regen modes. The RS eTron’s now recuperate up to 400 kW – a 110 kW improvement from the previous model. You can also turn off regeneration for traditional coasting.

Back on the track, Stefan Reil, the GT’s chief technical engineer and Audi’s head of research and development, toggled through the settings, to showcase and feel the virtues of their new dynamic dampers and suspension, which were less perceptible on the road. The car actually thrusts its nose down during hard acceleration and inversely pushes the rear down during braking to keep the car balanced. The dampers play a similar shuffle side to side in the bends and the car raises itself when the time comes for passengers to get out. It’s a system other makers might find too clever by half, but professional jealousy is a thing.
Earlier during our drivers’ briefing Reil said, “It’s a new car that looks the same as the old car.” While it’s true, aesthetically the 2025 RS eTron GT Performance isn’t much of a departure from the original. Audi made some modest updates to the exterior, a new grill, some different color and wheel options. But “under the hood,” the sequel is twice as compelling. After all, it’s the most powerful Audi ever—of course, that only really means so far....

Nike's Iconic Killshot 2 Shoes Are Up to 44% Off Right Now, and Shoppers Say They're the Best Kicks for Daily Wear
Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Originally released in 1979 and revived as a J.Crew exclusive in 2009, the Killshot 2 is one of Nike’s most popular styles and maybe the greatest casual sneaker ever made. It’s certainly worth paying full price for a pair of shoes this versatile, but for a limited time, you don’t have to. The Swoosh brand has an assortment of Killshot 2 colorways on sale for as little as $50.
With a normal price of $90, that’s a hefty discount on Nike Killshot 2 Sneakers. The Black/Gum Yellow/Sail colorway gets the biggest discount, but other options—including some flashier options like Stadium Green/Gum Medium Brown/Laser Orange/Sail for $68—still get solid discounts. These shoes have earned 227 five-star ratings out of 279 total, with customers calling them “great shoes” that are “cool” and “comfortable.”
Nike Killshot 2 Sneakers in Black/Gum Yellow/Sail, $50 (was $90) at Nike
These sneakers are made of premium materials, including real and synthetic leathers, suede, and a rubber gum sole that adds great traction and a vintage look. The shoe is low-cut, a reference to the original low-top Killshot tennis shoe, Nike’s first for that sport. They aren’t the most padded shoes you’ll ever wear, but you can save the thick soles and high-tech cushioning for shoes that aren’t meant to be worn while relaxing outside on a Saturday afternoon.
The 20-somethings of 2009 are 30-somethings now, and this “34-year-old father of two” is proof that Killshot 2s are great dad shoes (complimentary). He called them “my new daily drivers.” After going up a size, “these fit perfectly. Break-in was fast, about a day, and now they feel even more comfortable. Like a well-worn baseball glove for my feet.”
Nike Killshot 2 Sneakers in Sail/Black, $61 (was $90) at Nike
Another shopper with a flair for the dramatic wrote, “This is the greatest shoe of all time” that “increases my rizz by 100%.” We can’t guarantee a doubling of your rizz, but this reviewer also wrote that he feels “like a god walking on clouds when I wear my Killshot 2 leathers,” which “are and always will be the best thing to ever happen to me.” Is that exaggeration? We assume so. Is this kind of exaggeration more understandable when talking about Killshot 2s than any other casual sneaker? Also yes.
If you don’t have a pair of Nike Killshot 2 Sneakers, now’s the time to get one. If you do, now’s the time to get another one. A few size-color combinations have already sold out, and pricing this aggressive means others are almost sure to follow. This markdown is also due to end on Apr. 19, which is even more of a reason not to dawdle.
This Little-Known Diet Could Be the Key to Longevity and Bone Health
While no one likes to think about death, preventing it becomes a growing priority as we age. From lifting weights to avoiding excess sun exposure to eating a well-balanced diet, many people are willing to tweak their habits to extend their lifespan. But once we reach midlife and beyond, the stakes get higher—and fractures, especially hip fractures, and heart disease emerge as major threats.
Fortunately, a recent study shows that a specific eating pattern—known as the "prudent" diet—may significantly reduce the risk of bone fractures and death from heart disease.
According to the study, a "prudent" diet is a diet "characterized by high consumption of fruit, vegetables, whole-grain cereals and oily fish, with low consumption of white bread, chips, sugar and full-fat dairy products."

The study, originally published in Frontiers in Aging, followed almost 3,000 older adults for a 20-year span. The individuals agreed to both home and clinical visits during this time and provided the researchers with their healthcare records. They also completed questionnaires about dietary and lifestyle choices.
Over the 20-year follow-up, hip fractures occurred in 2% of men and 5% of women. When looking at all types of fractures, 9% of men and 22% of women were affected. As for cardiovascular-related deaths, 11% of men and 5% of women died from heart disease during the study period.
Researchers found that people who followed a "prudent" dietary pattern had a slightly lower risk of hip fractures and mortality from heart disease. They also observed that participants with more balanced diets tended to be more physically active. However, it’s unclear whether the participants' diets alone reduced the risk of fractures and death from cardiovascular disease or if their overall healthier lifestyles contributed to the benefits.
While there may not be a clear answer, the study highlights how important it is to educate aging individuals on the right dietary and lifestyle choices. Simple steps, like making sure you're eating a balanced diet high in whole foods, might not only help increase your bone health but may also give your heart a boost.
Walmart Has an Outdoor Rug on Sale for Just $25 Right Now That's Easy to Clean and Feels 'Good on Bare Feet'
Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
It's easy enough to set up nice overhangs and plant gorgeous gardens to make an outdoor space more liveable and beautiful. But sometimes, it is the little, often-overlooked details that truly count, like an area rug for your patio set. Right now, Walmart is selling a stylish, reversible, waterproof outdoor rug for just $25 that will give your space all the warmth of your living room.
This limited-time Walmart Flash Deal grants you a 5-by-8-foot Sixhome Outdoor Rug at 42% off. That takes $18 off of the rug that usually costs $43 and has earned over 450 five-star ratings. It's available in this size in five great colors ranging from $25 to $30, and it even comes in larger sizes up to 10-by-14 feet. But the best deal right now is on the dark gray and white color combination.
Sixhome 5 x 8 Outdoor Rug in Dark Gray and White, $25 (was $43) at Walmart
You’ll want this rug for a combination of its design, materials, and functionality. It uses a Boho design that nearly implies movement and hints at the designs and sensitivities of old-school weavers and craftspeople. You can reverse it, too, with the black-on-white and white-on-black sides looking equally pleasant. The rug is made of a type of woven plastic straw that makes it waterproof and easy to hose off when muddy, and it is properly treated to avoid fading after long hours in the sun.
One customer who called the rug “pretty and effective” described the texture as “soft woven plastic” that feels “good on bare feet.” They also noted that their furniture doesn’t slide across the rug, possibly due to the nature of the weave. This isn’t some thin, slippery piece of plastic but instead a true woven rug.
Sixhome 5 x 8 Outdoor Rug in Blue and White, $27 (was $43) at Walmart
While shoppers found several use cases for the rug—including the pet room, small office, deck, and patio—we found that campers especially loved the rug for its rinse-off cleanup. One satisfied camper mentioned there was “a lot of rain” the first time they used it, but “the rug dried quickly. It was easy to fold, and it actually fit back in the carrying bag with ease.” Another camper said they liked the rug under the canopy “when the ground is wet.”
The Sixhome outdoor rug is only $25 as part of a Walmart Flash Deal, so be sure to get it soon. These deals end sooner than your average sale, and that's if it doesn't sell out first.

Rapper Tells Angel Reese She's Doing 'Exactly What LeBron Is Doing'
Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese has been vocal about the pay gap between WNBA and NBA players in recent months. The former No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft signed a four-year, $324,383 deal and is set to make an annual salary of just under $75,000 during the 2025 season, per Spotrac.
While her pay is slated to jump to nearly $82.4k in 2026 and $93.6k in 2027 (pending a team option), the differences in pay between the two leagues are glaring. The pay gap between men's and women's basketball is something Reese has referenced on numerous occasions.
During a recent conversation on her podcast Unapologetically Angel with rapper Chrisean Rock, the two discussed the differences in pay. This is when Rock dropped a response that quickly raised a few eyebrows.
"Yeah, because you're doing exactly what LeBron is doing," Rock said to Reese.

Reese laughed at the comment, and Rock then asked "What's going on?" with the pay gap. The Sky forward responded that they don't "have the money for us just yet, but it's coming."
While the responses poured in on various social media channels, it's fair to point out that this discussion has been ongoing among sports media personalities and players.
Reese's fellow 2024 draftee and Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is arguably the greatest college basketball player ever and is set to earn just over $78k in 2025 after signing a four-year, $338,056 rookie deal. Clark was named WNBA Rookie of the Year and made the All-WNBA First Team last season.
Reese had a strong rookie year as well, averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds while being named a WNBA All-Star and leading the league in rebounding.
