Selling Sunset's Jason Oppenheim Reveals New Relationship at Star-Studded Premiere

Jason Oppenheim is officially off the market—again. The Selling Sunset star debuted his new relationship with fellow realtor Jessica Vargas at the Los Angeles premiere of The Accountant 2 on April 16, confirming the romance with a PDA-filled red carpet appearance.

The Oppenheim Group founder, 48, and Vargas, a realtor associate at the firm, grabbed attention. E! Online reported the duo sealed their red carpet debut with a kiss, leaving no doubt about their status.

Oppenheim’s love life has long been in the spotlight, with high-profile relationships and breakups that have fueled headlines and Selling Sunset plotlines. Most recently, he dated model Marie-Lou Nurk for 10 months before the pair split in May 2023, citing distance as the primary issue. Nurk resided in France, while Oppenheim remained anchored in LA.

In early 2024, Oppenheim was linked to tennis pro Genie Bouchard, though the status of that potential relationship remains unclear.

Before that, fans watched his romance with Selling Sunset co-star Chrishell Stause play out both on and off-screen. The pair dated for five months after a long-standing friendship, but ultimately split over differing views on starting a family.

“Men have the luxury of time that women don't, and that's just the way it goes,” Stause said on Instagram following the breakup. “Jason was and is my best friend… [but] our ideas for family ultimately [were] not aligned.”

Now, with Vargas professionally and romantically at his side, Oppenheim appears ready for his next chapter, even if it comes with the same media spotlight he's grown used to. Whether this new relationship will last remains to be seen, but the chemistry on the red carpet suggests they’re off to a strong start.

Why Did Peter Krause's 'Bobby Nash' Die on '9-1-1'?

Actor Peter Krause's on-screen death as 9-1-1's Bobby Nash took many fans by surprise.

The episode's ending left many fans with a big question.

Nash, a fire captain, suffered a noble death, sacrificing himself by giving a vaccine to a friend. Why is Krause leaving 9-1-1, though? Was it his choice to exit the ABC drama?

According to Variety, no. The decision was made by the showrunner.

Variety dubbed the on-screen death "shocking," pointing out that the show had killed off its leading character, which is something television series rarely do. The death of Krause's character wasn't a complete surprise, though, because photos of the crew shooting a funeral scene previously went viral, according to Variety.

In a statement to Deadline, Krause made it clear the decision to kill off his character was a "bold creative choice."

And 9-1-1 showrunner Tim Minear made it clear to Variety that it was his idea.

"It was entirely creative. A very difficult creative decision, because there’s practically no one I love on this Earth more than Peter," Minear told Variety when asked whether it was Krause's choice to leave.

“I had to convince everybody about this,” Minear told Variety. “The network was not like, ‘Yeah, get rid of him, it’ll save us money.’ It was nothing like that. I had to pitch this at the highest levels and just walk through the whole story and try to infect them — funny choice of words, given the storyline — because, as I pitched it, you could understand, as a writer, how suddenly the whole world felt more alive. It felt more real because this thing had happened.”

“I’ve heard that many fans are upset by this loss and they have a right to be. It is a loss,” Krause said in a statement on April 17, according to Deadline.

“That said, it was more than a bold creative choice on a bold show. Bobby Nash was written in sacrifice and he was built for this. First responders risk their lives on the job so that others can see another day. His story arc honors them," he added.

"We at 9-1-1 salute all the incredible men and women who do these dangerous jobs and strive to keep us safe. Our show is incredibly difficult to make at times with long hours, challenging stunts and elaborate disasters. We couldn’t do it without each other.”

One of Filson's Toughest Backpacks Is 50% Off Right Now, and It's Selling Lightning Fast

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Filson might be known for its Mackinaw wool, Tin Cloth canvas, and Rugged Twill, but the brand makes some great stuff with other fabrics too. Case in point: This sturdy Cordura nylon backpack that’s on sale now for just $75.

The Filson Surveyor 25-Liter Backpack is typically $150, so this is a very rare 50% discount. It comes in three different colors: solid black, military-inspired service green, and a funky dark tan/bright orange option, but they're selling fast at this low price. Like all Filson gear, it comes with a limited lifetime guarantee “against the failure of materials, workmanship, craftsmanship, and manufacturer's defects.”

First, a clarification. While this backpack is mostly lightweight waxed 500D Cordura nylon, it also includes some heavier 1000D Cordura, 100% polyester ripstop lining, and 60% recycled PE foam in the back panel and straps. The 500D Cordura is deployed here with a canvas weave similar to Tin Cloth, and the 1000D is woven like Rugged Twill, two of those materials Filson is known for. It’s a clever nod to the brand’s heritage embodied by decidedly modern materials.

The 25-liter capacity leaves plenty of room for a day’s worth of stuff, and probably a little more. The interior is lined with that ripstop nylon and features a padded laptop compartment. There’s also a full-width zippered pocket on the front of the bag that, like the main compartment, is secured with YKK zippers.

Carrying all that stuff could be a pain, but this backpack is built for comfort too. The shoulder straps are fully adjustable on the go. There’s also that padding in the back panel and straps that provides a nice cushion between your back and shoulders and the gear you’re hauling.

The Filson Surveyor 25-Liter Backpack is the best of both worlds: lightweight, durable materials and the look and feel of a backpack from a legacy heritage brand. For half its normal price, it’s hard to come up with a reason for someone in need of a solid backpack not to pick this one up. Just be sure to get yours ASAP, as we’re betting now this price—and this inventory—won’t last long.

Delta Air Lines Just Made a Major Announcement

Summertime travel often involves taking a flight to a special destination, and Delta Air Lines is one of the biggest airlines in the U.S. According to Simple Flying, as of February, Delta was the No. 2 largest airline in the U.S. by flights with 4,266 average roundtrip flights per day, only second to American, with 5,625 average roundtrip flights per day. According to the tally, Delta is also the No. 2 largest airline in the world.

As the years progress, airlines often add and delete routes, based on travel interests that change. Now, Delta Air Lines has announced that starting this fall, they're adding a particular international route to their offerings.

Delta is giving passengers more options to visit various spots in South America. Beginning on Nov. 19, the airline will add more flights, as well as a next-generation plane, for its route from Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL) to Buenos Aires' Ezeiza International Airport (EZE).

Beginning No. 19, Delta will increase its offerings to Buenos Aires with a second daily frequency between Atlanta and Buenos Aires. The schedule will include three weekly flights from Nov. 19 to Dec. 9; daily service during the peak summer season from Dec. 10 to Jan. 18, 2026; and then, the return of the three weekly flight schedule from Jan. 19 to March 28, 2026.

In addition to the increased frequency to Buenos Aires, the airline is "upgrading its equipment on the regular Atlanta-Buenos Aires service by introducing the state-of-the-art Airbus A330-900neo to replace the current Airbus A330-300," according to Aviation A to Z. The outlet adds, "The A330-900neo features 29 Delta One suites with fully reclining seats, luxurious bedding, privacy doors, and exclusive in-flight dining services including curated meals, premium beverages and specialty snacks."

The increased routes comes as Delta is "making a larger push into South America, Central America and the Caribbean," according to Travel Pulse.

Delta also reported March quarter 2025 financial results on April 9, noting, "We expect June quarter profitability of $1.5 to $2 billion. Given the lack of economic clarity, it is premature at this time to provide an updated full-year outlook."

Savage Garden Singer Involved in ‘Terrible Accident’

Savage Garden vocalist Darren Hayes was involved in a "terrible accident" and shared photos of his injuries on social media on April 18.

"I’ve been trying to keep it private but my lengthy recovery period means it’s easier to admit the truth," Hayes, 52, said of the accident, which occurred in March.

"I lost consciousness - I fainted shortly after getting out of bed and collapsed 3 times, losing consciousness each time. The blunt force trauma was so severe it snapped my left jawbone in half. I woke up in a pool of blood, terrible pain in my left side of my head and with 9 teeth shattered. I’m so lucky that I was found, and taken to the amazing team at the emergency room of St John’s Providence in Santa Monica, where they acted quickly," he continued.

Hayes went on to say that he underwent "emergency reconstructive surgery" to repair his jaw. He also said that doctors are still running tests, but, so far, everything has come back normal, despite his fainting spells. Doctors have ruled out a brain tumor.

After disbanding in 2001, Hayes went on to launch a solo career. More recently, he appeared on the fifth season of The Masked Singer Australia.

Gregg Popovich Gets Health Update After Medical Emergency

Gregg Popovich, the legendary head coach of the San Antonio Spurs, suffered a medical scare this week, but it sounds like things are trending in the right direction.

According to a report from TMZ, the five-time NBA champion left a San Antonio steakhouse in an ambulance on Tuesday after authorities responded to a call regarding an elderly individual who "fainted" at the scene.

The outlet cited anonymous sources close to the situation who believe that Popovich may have been experiencing lingering effects from a stroke he suffered in November.

"Our sources tell us Popovich appeared to still be dealing with the effects of the mild stroke he suffered in early November while at the establishment ... and was there for close to two hours before suffering the medical emergency," the outlet reported.

"Officials say they responded to the scene after receiving a call for an elderly person who had fainted... and the patient was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injury or illness."

While this was undoubtedly a scary situation for the legendary coach, the sports world got a positive update on Friday afternoon.

According to a report from NBA insider Shams Charania, Popovich has been released from the hospital and "is doing fine."

"San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich had a medical incident at a restaurant on Tuesday night and he is now home, stable and doing fine. Popovich had a mild stroke in November and missed the rest of the season," Charania wrote in a post on X.

Popovich is one of the most accomplished head coaches in NBA history wtih five NBA titles, an Olympic gold medal, and the most career wins of any coach in NBA history.

He has expressed a plan to return to the sidelines next season after suffering a stroke back in November.

Florence Pugh Shares Telling Admission Amid New Romance

Florence Pugh’s talent as an actress officially knows no bounds, and her role in the upcoming film Thunderbolts*, along with the 2021 movie Black Widow, is proof of that.

While Pugh has starred in a variety of unique roles, her full jump into the Marvel world has drawn an immense amount of attention. Along with Thunderbolts*, Pugh was cast in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie.

During a recent interview with Marie-Claire Chappet of Harper's Bazaar, Pugh spoke about her career and multiple other topics. Among the many things that jumped out from the interview was Pugh's comments on her current love life.

After what was described as an "amicable breakup" from her partner of three years, actor and director Zach Braff, in 2022, Pugh explained that a relationship that followed, which ended when she began filming We Live in Time, shifted her mindset, with the movie pushing her desire to take control of her love life.

“It was a scary break-up,” she told Chappet, “and I think that movie forced me to realise I can’t wait for people any more. I can’t accept this version of love. I have to help myself.”

While fans surely have plenty of questions about Pugh's current love life, the 29-year-old gave some insight during the interview with Harper's Bazaar. Although she wouldn't give specifics about who she's currently dating, she did say she's currently in love and spoke about her approach to the romance.

“I’m more sympathetic to the people who are in love with me, because it’s not easy! I’m tricky – I’m always busy, I can never make dates,” she admits. “But it’s not good enough for me to ask someone to just accept that. I’ll just end up alone. I don’t want that – I want a family.”

Although Pugh's relationship remains somewhat of a mystery, her comments make it apparent that the relationship is going strong. The same can also be said about her successful career and continuous rise in Hollywood.

FDA Kept Deadly Romaine Lettuce E. Coli Outbreak Across 15 States Secret

A deadly E. coli outbreak linked to romaine lettuce quietly spread through 15 U.S. states in late 2023, causing one death and hospitalizing 36 people, including a 9-year-old boy who nearly died of kidney failure. However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) never publicly disclosed the outbreak, according to an internal report obtained by NBC News.

The FDA traced the outbreak to romaine lettuce through genetic sequencing and confirmed 89 cases, yet did not name the company involved or issue any public warning. The internal report noted that there were "no public communications" because the contaminated product was no longer on the market by the time investigators confirmed the source.

Critics, including former FDA and USDA officials, are sounding alarms over the lack of transparency. They argue that consumers have a right to know the source of contaminated food, regardless of whether the product is still available. “It is disturbing that FDA hasn’t said anything more public,” said Frank Yiannas, a former FDA official. Food safety attorney William Marler added, “If the gutted CDC and FDA can no longer do the job, we will step up.”

The Trump administration’s sweeping cuts to federal health agencies are also being blamed for weakening the infrastructure needed to investigate and communicate food safety risks. Taryn Webb, who lost her job in the purge, warned that the U.S. has lost crucial mechanisms to prevent future outbreaks.

The E. coli strain involved — 0157:H7 — is particularly dangerous and can cause severe organ damage. In Missouri and Indiana, school children were sickened after eating salad at school events. One victim, Colton George, was hospitalized for two weeks with hemolytic uremic syndrome and still suffers from lasting effects.

Although the FDA says it only names companies when there is “actionable advice,” critics argue that transparency, even after the fact, is essential for accountability and public trust.
