“Who is it?" I asked teasingly
"Bigfoot," Dex answered from his room.
"What do you want, Mr Foot?"
"Please, just call me Big."
I snorted. "You wish."
"You know.”

Banking Voting Power Points: The Rules
The Shadow Reader by Sandy Williams
Book synopsis: There can only be one allegiance.
It’s her time to choose.
Some humans can see the fae. McKenzie Lewis can track them, reading the shadows they leave behind. But some shadows lead to danger. Others lead to lies.
A Houston college student trying to finish her degree, McKenzie has been working for the fae king for years, tracking vicious rebels who would claim the Realm. Her job isn’t her only secret. For just as long, she’s been in love with Kyol, the king’s sword-master—and relationships between humans and fae are forbidden.
But any hope for a normal life is shattered when she’s captured by Aren, the fierce and uncompromising rebel leader. He teaches her the forbidden fae language and tells her dark truths about the Court, all to persuade her to turn against the king. Time is running out, and as the fight starts to claim human lives, McKenzie has no choice but to decide once and for all whom to trust and where she ultimately stands in the face of a cataclysmic civil war.
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett
Book synopsis: According to "The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter," "Witch" (the world's only "completely" accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.
So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon--both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle--are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.
And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist . . .

Book synopsis: With all the vampire, werewolf and faerie books out there, it's easy to become numb to all things supernatural. The antidote? Darkhouse introduces two real and unforgettable characters, Perry Palomino & Dex Foray, amateur ghost hunters who are "attractive, relatable and oddly heroic," "flawed but loveable," "slightly crazy" and just the most endearing pair to ever tackle the paranormal...just don't call them normal. Darkhouse is a thrilling and sexy new take on concepts like Supernatural and The X-Files, bringing a breath of fresh air to a genre that has been inundated with the dead.
The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin
Book synopsis: Yeine Darr is an outcast from the barbarian north. But when her mother dies under mysterious circumstances, she is summoned to the majestic city of Sky. There, to her shock, Yeine is named an heiress to the king. But the throne of the Hundred Thousand Kingdoms is not easily won, and Yeine is thrust into a vicious power struggle with cousins she never knew she had. As she fights for her life, she draws ever closer to the secrets of her mother's death and her family's bloody history.
With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, Yeine will learn how perilous it can be when love and hate - and gods and mortals - are bound inseparably together.
Mariana by Susanna Kearsley
Book synopsis: The first time Julia Beckett saw Greywethers she was only five, but she knew that it was her house. And now that she’s at last become its owner, she suspects that she was drawn there for a reason.
As if Greywethers were a portal between worlds, she finds herself transported into seventeenth-century England, becoming Mariana, a young woman struggling against danger and treachery, and battling a forbidden love.
Each time Julia travels back, she becomes more enthralled with the past...until she realizes Mariana’s life is threatening to eclipse her own, and she must find a way to lay the past to rest or lose the chance for happiness in her own time.
Hidden Empire by Kevin J. Anderson
Book synopsis: In the 25th century, humanity is just beginning to blossom in space exploration, thanks mostly to the aid of the alien Ildirans. The only other known galactic race is the long-gone Klikiss, who've deserted a world of robots and other bizarre technology on the moon Hyrilka. However, when archaeologist husband-and-wife team Louis and Margaret Colicos activate one particular Klikiss device, they discover that they have awakened a hidden empire. The Hydrogues declare war on Earth.

I´m not realy sure where things went wrong. I loved yout EIT series, and really enjoyed The artists trilogy, but I just feel like I don´t want to keep up with your books anymore. Nothing has been the same since 2013. Feels like I´m breaking up with my highschool crush. I do still have hope. Hope that maybe Ava Palomino´s story won´t suck as much and I will fall inlove with your writting once again.

Congrats on the 3rd place finish for
! It's not first like we were all hoping but it's still an awesome finish!
Delighted to make your goodreads acquaintance! We shall, indeed, be the super friends! (was that a Mystery Men reference, btw?)
Karina...one more thing. Do you know why the Dead Sky Morning book trailer is marked as private??? I'm chomping at the bit to watch it!
Karina, my heart stopped a couple of beats when I read on Maryse’s blog about Dex’s Novella being released in February. I swear I would cry tears of joy… if I wasn’t at work. I love your writing and this series. I also wanted to let you know that I voted for ODW both initially and in the final round. Good luck!
Karina you've made it! You've made to the end, girl! Yesterday I went there to vote on the final round, and you were there again! yaaaaah! I'm really really happy for you. Awesome! And I saw in my Maryse's blog today that you said you're going to release Dex's Pov 2 anyway... and I just WOW thank you so much for this. I can't believe it!
Oh this is a good day! ;)
I'm not sure I'm going to survive waiting until 11/15. I'm so in need of a dex fix I feel like he's my drug.
Love the books! Can't wait for Into the Hallow. I have my BFF addicted now and have a few others starting the series. Love the horror! More scary plus f'd up people makes for WONDERFUL reading. Thank you!!
Where can I view the official trailer for Dark Sky Morning? I can't access it here, says it's private. After seeing the interview with Dex & Perry I need more!!! :)
Hey Karina, thanks so much for the friend invite! Yes, always awesome to meet another fellow indie, and I hear your books are quite badass from my GR friends. ;) Thanks for including Preservation in your giveaway, I really appreciate that. Looking forward to chatting with you, and I wish you the best of luck with your work!Rachael
