Mirror on the World

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I love the way the pages are set out with staggered verses on the longer poems. This makes for an easier and pleasant read. Also the poetry, whether happy or sad, is all either uplifting or moving. A joy to read and would make a lovely gift.

http://www.bronwynbooks.co.uk I'm really stressed right now because my webmaster who hosted my website has just died (RIP). He was a great friend as well as a really talented person and will be sadly missed. Trouble is, I can no longer access my website, nor update it. Not quite sure what to do next.
Anyway, I am currently doing a free promo for 'The Fate of Lily Knowles' and there are 2 more days to go. This would be a good opportunity to read this unique book before you go on to buy the paperback which is also a good bargain and would make a lovely gift. So do take a look x

Passing Clouds by G.A.A. Kent
The paperback version of this book is in Large Print for the benefit of readers with limited vision. This includes the author who had to write it in maximum Zoom on his computer so that he could see what he was doing. This is the first book in a series of nine in which he hopes to record each decade of his life before he pops off - that's if he lives long enough. He certainly doesn't expect to become a best seller, but he has done this for posterity and for anyone who wants to know what it was like to be a kid in wartime Britain.

The Long Weekend

My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Five people with five different flaws or problems that surface over the late summer bank holiday. Will they all make it back to work on Tuesday?
Leading up to, during and after an August Bank Holiday, five people - unknown to each other but all employees of the same insurance company - experience a long weekend they would rather forget. As each day unfolds, there is an underlying message in each person's story which suggests that most of the problems they face over the weekend stem from either parental failure or childhood influence. The story follows the thin line that we all follow between what is right and what is wrong. As each character falls into the trap of drink and drugs, or personal obsession, we get to see the consequences of crossing the line

The Ipswich Bus
3 winners of my last giveaway were Gladys Morris, Wendy Brown and Marion Maybank. All of these were paperback books. Considering this is a charity book, I should not have done a giveaway but, hopefully, it might draw more attention to this brilliant poetry book and therefore elicit more reviews from those who entered http://www.bronwynbooks.co.uk/charity...

Born 1946 so I guess that makes me ancient. Never thought of writing until I read 'Jennie' by Paul Gallico, aged 12. Only wrote poems at first in my schooldays and did so for several years after until 1987 when I started to write fiction and actually wrote 4 novels between 1987 and 88 - only 2 of which have ever been published + 2 children's since then. These days, I tend to help other authors who don't have a clue about getting published, or even those who do, but are fed-up struggling alone.
