Working Vacation at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

It’s time for some Cuti Cuti Malaysia #dekatje again for me and my boys. Well, somewhat. It’s a working vacation, actually and I must say that I’m quite looking forward to this one, considering that our destination will be in one of the finest island holiday destination in Malaysia and we will get to both work and play. Anyway, prior our early departure, we stayed in Berjaya Times Square Hotel. Located in the heart of the golden triangle in Kuala Lumpur, the hotel is not only convenient for those who are on business trip, but great for those who are seeking for some fun, leisure time as well.

The room offers fantastic view; where it overlooks the Kuala Lumpur City and the swimming pool.

Berjaya Times Square Hotel- Premier Room

The picture does no justice, you might wanna have a look at the video I took for a better idea on how the room is like.

Guests will be amazed with the things that they can do here. But if you are here for fun, I would recommend you to take a shot of the indoor themepark in Berjaya Times Square. It is very promising and if you are here to shop, shopping mall is just in the vicinity of the hotel.

Personally I would recommend Berjaya Times Square and Lowyat Plaza for gadget shopping, but if you are looking for something more funky, a tad domestic and inexpensive, do hop over to Sungei Wang Plaza which is just a stone throw away. These malls will not disappoint.

A Guide to All Things Taiwan: Ximending

 photo Ximenting-6_zps2fn0l6du.jpg

Taiwan is a small island nation 180km east of China with contemporary cities, hot springs resorts and dramatic mountainous terrain. Taipei, the country’s capital in the north, is known for its busy night markets and street-food vendors, Chinese Imperial art at the National Palace Museum and Taipei 101, a 509m-tall, bamboo-shaped skyscraper with an observation deck.

The island of Taiwan was mainly inhabited by Taiwanese aborigines before Han Chinese began immigrating to the island in the 17th century.

Taiwan today maintains a stable industrial economy as a result of rapid economic growth and industrialization, and is a destination of choice among tourists and travelers.

While the country enjoys healthy amount of tourists among Chinese dialects speaking travelers, Taiwan has becoming increasingly popular among non-Chinese speaking tourists.

In the past, it is rather daunting for non-Chinese speakers to to travel in Taiwan as the language used nationwide is pretty much just Mandarin and the food are mostly exotic and strange, but luckily for us non-natives, there are plenty of websites around that can guide you on what to do, what’s nice to eat and where to stay without putting a hole in your pocket.

One of the website is this, http://ximendinghotel.com/

This website offers information about Ximending, a bustling neighborhood and shopping district in the Wanhua District ofTaipei, Taiwan. It is the first pedestrian zone in Taiwan. Ximending is a great place to visit if you are a shopaholic but is traveling on a shoestring.

Ximending has been called the “Harajuku of Taipei” and the “Shibuya of Taipei” and is the source of Taiwan’s fashion, subculture, and Japanese culture and is a recommended attraction by Tripadvisor.

If you are a non-Chinese speaker and has fear of the unknown in Taiwan, worry and doubt no more as Taiwan is now a destination of choice among non native speakers and if you are worried about being too adventurous, try to refer to Ximending hotels first and start exploring Taiwan with Ximending before exploring other touristy place.

There’s everything that you need to know about Ximending in this website and it is basically a guide to where to go, what to do, what’s nice to eat, where to stay in and many more. Plan a trip to Ximending and experience it soon, okay? I promise you, you’ll love it there and would want to be back for more.

Shopping Made Easy with ezbuy

I enjoy shopping immensely. The world feels like a better place each time I go shopping. Spoken like a true shopaholic, no? Yes. I enjoy shopping, but I have to plan my budget properly as I have loads of commitments and not to mention that time is not always the luxury that I have.

I’ll be traveling again pretty soon, and I have yet to buy stuff that I need for the getaway. Time simply does not permit me to indulge in any shopping, but lucky for me, there’s always ezbuy.

Have you heard about Taobao? Well, Taobao is a China based online shopping website that offers goods at a very cheap price. Basically the entire site is in Chinese and it can be very confusing to buy items from there, especially if you do not read any Chinese. There’s a trick to making items offered by that site; which is via ezbuy. ezbuy is an Online Shopping portal that has linked offers from Taobao. And the best part? It is in English. So, no more confusing and frustrating shopping experience whenever you want to make a purchase.

 photo Screenshot_2016-10-20-13-31-32_zpsghycuwsa.png

ezbuy will spoil you rotten. There are just so many things you will want to buy from there. From clothings, accessories, gadgets and furniture. Yes. That’s right, you can even buy furnitures from ezbuy if you want. ezbuy not only offers wide range of items from Taibao for your shopping pleasure, but also gives the best price to all of its shoppers.

 photo Screenshot_2016-10-19-19-29-10_zpsfyaeko8k_edit_1476941904244_zps7qnkgg7t.jpeg

It has the lowest shipping rate around, which is RM4.50/500g and no agent fee.

 photo Screenshot_2016-10-19-19-31-26_zps1qhfqzja.png

ezbuy offers Super Sales up to 70% off.

 photo Screenshot_2016-10-19-19-23-2701_zpsmg00xw7b.png

With new arrivals every Wednesday.

 photo Screenshot_2016-10-19-19-29-2201_zpsgd4cr6ra.png

And 3 with rounds of flash deals daily, it is definitely too hard to resist, especially for a shopaholic like me. The best part? Everything is just so affordable.

 photo Screenshot_2016-10-20-13-32-16_zpsmjdb5gph.png

So I decided to buy some stuff, and have been eyeing on this particular bag along with some other items in ezbuy. But apparently shipping fees can be quite crazy considering that the items are not from Malaysia. They are mostly from China, USA, and Taiwan, and some of the items that I added in the cart are pretty much heavy, making the shipping fees quite expensive.

 photo Screenshot_2016-10-19-19-30-32_zps2ubjo9lk.png

Luckily for me, there’s an option for PRIME, which offers only RM8.80 for all types of items delivery, so you won’t have to worry about the shipping cost whenever you buy stuff from here.

PRIME is offered yearly at RM188, but if you don’t want to make such commitment yet but wants to enjoy the benefit of it, simply sign up for the one month trial, which is just RM18.80. Awesome, isn’t it? For every purchase you will need to just pay RM8.80. Buying in bulk will certainly gives more value to it, that’s for sure.

 photo Screenshot_2016-10-19-19-30-56_zpstfuqhelw.png

Check this out. All these and the shipping is just RM8.80. How cool is that? I practically saved RM322.20 worth of delivery charges. And it is no small amount indeed.

Things you need to know about PRIME subscription:

*Unlimited items delivery, even the heavy ones. Just click on the PRIME logo and you will be exempted from paying expensive deliveries fees. Yes. It includes heavy items, in case you are wondering.

foto received_10154528049062649_zpscp8luefj.jpeg

White Alpacasso Beef Burger </ strong> (RM29.80).

foto received_10154528048987649_zpsq9uonckc.jpeg

Fresh Garden Salad</ strong> (RM19.80). Garden salad segar dihidangkan dengan dua pilihan kuah dan sampinganroti berkerak. Amat disyorkan untuk mereka yang mahukan sayur-sayuran dalam makanan mereka.

foto BeautyPlus_20161018005650_save_zpsck3zpyqy.jpg

Fluffy Alpacasso Pancakes </ strong> (RM25.80).

Finding a cute place to win the heart of your ladylove who have soft spot for all things cute and huggable? Here’s one place that will melt hearts immediately; Alpacasso Cafe.

 photo received_10154528048507649_zpshelt8kjg.jpeg

Located in the heart of toy department in AEON Midvalley, this pop up cafe serves food and drinks shaped like the Alpacasso characters. Offering delicacies with splendid presentation, Alpacasso is a heaven not only for foodies but instagrammers as well.To look for Alpacasso Cafe, simply walk over to AEON’s toy and baby section. It is located just right there.

 photo received_10154528048547649_zpss04cg9ux.jpeg

Alpacasso or rather, alpaca plushies were originally prizes for arcade claw machines in Japan. These adorable plushies has won the hearts of many, especially in Japan, but now they are available for purchase online and in Alpacasso Cafe, AEON Mid Valley.

Every dish in Alpacasso Cafe is designed to be picture worthy and are really adorable. Here’s sharing some that I managed to try with my husband amd son during our visit there.

 photo BeautyPlus_20161018005908_save_zpsumh96foe.jpg

My personal favourite was the  Alpacasso Curry Island (RM26.80). It is one of their signature dishes. The dish is actually Japanese chicken curry served with gohan (Japanese rice)  shaped cutely into Alpacasso’s face and accompanied by a garden of salad on the side. The curry was served seperately to prevent unwanted sogginess. The curry was not overly creamy with the right amount of chicken, potatoes and carrots. Definitely a winning dish in my opinion.

 photo received_10154528049062649_zpscp8luefj.jpeg

White Alpacasso Beef Burger (RM29.80). The beef patty is prepared in Japanese style and was glazed with teriyaki sauce. Another personal favourite after the Alpacasso Island Curry. This also comes in chicken variety, so if you don’t take beef, you can always order the chicken version of the burger.

 photo received_10154528048987649_zpsq9uonckc.jpeg

Garden Fresh Salad (RM19.80). Garden fresh salad served with two choice of dressings and a side of chunks of crusty bread. Great for those who wants some greens in their meals.

 photo BeautyPlus_20161018005650_save_zpsck3zpyqy.jpg

Fluffy Alpacasso Pancakes (RM25.80). I don’t have sweet tooth, and I find these are a tad too sweet for me but I enjoyed the fresh juicy fruits on the side immensely, especially the sweet, fresh melon.

 photo received_10154528048817649_zpsslgdexdq.jpeg

Cotton Candy Alpaccasoda (RM24.80) is a must if you like cute things love playing with food. Watch the cotton candy melt into the glass when you pour the soda into it and sweeten up the salty based lime drink.

 photo received_10154528048702649_zpswse2tga8.jpeg

Alpacasso Latte (RM14.80) is great for any coffee lovers.

 photo received_10154528048767649_zpsri7lyrwi.jpeg

Garden Fresh Smoothie (RM17.80) is concocted from fresh spinach, apple, banana, orange juice, coconut juice and honey. Certainly refreshing, I must say and a must order.

 photo BeautyPlus_20161018010553_save_zpszmxjbclh.jpg

Besides food and drinks, you can also buy Japanese character merchandises like plush toys, stationaries, throw pillows and figurines here at the Alpacasso Cafe.

The dining experience here in Alpacasso is pleasant to say the least, and I highly recommend this place to those who loves all things cute.

Beautiful Terengganu: Shopping in Pasar Payang

Pasar Payang lies in the centre of Kuala Terengganu and is located by the Terengganu River. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in Kuala Terengganu and a great place to hunt for souvenirs to bring back home.

 photo IMG_3701_zpsjfn5q7cg.jpg

Housed in a somewhat modern building, Pasar Payang is a great place to experience the culture as locals do their daily shopping here in Pasar Payang.

Turtle shaped souvenirs made from seashells spotted. Needless to say, they are too adorable and unique to resist and I ended up gaving them all a home.

Some stalls over here in Pasar Payang are tourist trap and they may sell some items more expensive than they should, so to be on the safe side, always bargain with the seller for the lowest price before you make a purchase.

For more detailed information on Pasar Payang, you may contact Terengganu Tourism Office here: +609 – 630 9433 / 90

Regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful mosques, the moque features stunning architecture made of steel and glass, which gives the mosque its crystal-like appearance. This unique structure adopts a contemporary style injected with Moorish and Gothic elements.

At night, the mosque comes alive with a mesmerising display of lights, which changes the colour of its domes and minarets to pink, green, yellow and blue.

Crystal Mosque is the country’s first ‘intelligent’ mosque with a built-in IT infrastructure and WiFi connection, providing visitors with internet access with which to read the electronic Quran.

The mosque is open to public’s visit at and as this is a place of worship for Muslims, tourists will need to dress up appropriately before entering the mosque. Clothing should be modest for both men and women. For women this means an ankle length skirt or trousers, which should not be tight or transparent, together with a long sleeved and high- necked top. A headscarf is usually essential for women.

If you are not dressed appropriately, just head over to the registration counter, jot down your name and time of visit and grab a set of clothing that consists of a pair robe, and a pair of scarves for the ladies. Put on the robe to cover up your body before entering the mosque.

Donning the robe can be quite tricky to some, so if you need assistance donning the robe or head scarves, just ask the staffs to help you out. They are very helpful.Once you’re covered up appropriately, you will be allowed to enter the mosque to visit.Shoes must be removed before going into the prayer hall.

This is deemed appropriately dressed. One must be covered up nicely from top to toe and for ladies, hair should be decently covered with a scarf and preferably without any hair sticking out. To visit the prayer hall, walk quietly into the hall, and sit on the floor, avoiding pointing the feet in the direction of the Qibla, the wall with the niche or alcove in it, indicating the direction of Makkah. If you are non-Muslim and happened to be visiting as a group during a time when prayers are taking place, sit together toward the rear of the hall.

When Salat, one of the five daily prayer is in progress, non-Muslim visitors are welcomed but simply to observe rather than to join in. If arriving at such a time, find a place near the rear wall and sit quietly while observing the prayer. No sacred or blessed food will be offered, nor will visitors be expected to make any physical gesture of respect to holy objects except removing their shoes and acting respectfully in the prayer hall. Vistors may be greeted by the Arabic greeting “Assalamualaikum” which means “peace be upon you.” The answer, if the visitor would like to use it, is “Wa ‘alaikum-as-salam”, which means “peace be upon you too”. Do not offer, or expect, to shake hands with people of the opposite sex.

Crystal Mosque is a very beautiful place to visit but whether you visiting alone, or in a group, it is important to follow the guidelines for clothing and behaviour so as not to cause offence. For groups, it is important not to talk loudly, thus disturbing anyone who may be at prayer.
