Could $60,000 be the start of something big for the BTC price?

Bitcoin (BTC) price closed in an indecisive spinning top candlestick last week after being rejected multiple times at around $60k. However, the flagship coin has continued to defend the support level around $58k, which could be a basis for long-term bullish sentiment.

Furthermore, the price of Bitcoin has formed a potential bullish flag since early March this year. Despite the notable Bitcoin accumulation by institutional investors since the approval of ISIS-based spot BTC ETFs, traders have been gripped by the fear of further capitulation.

Bitcoin’s fear and greed index has remained below 30 percent recently, indicating extreme fear of further crypto capitulation.

Medium-term goals for Bitcoin price

Bitcoin’s rally was rejected at the 50% monthly correction level. Many altcoins are also selling off again. Meanwhile, stock markets continue to rise and gold is at a new ATH! We’ve seen it all before.

— Jason Pizzino 🌞 (@jasonpizzino) August 19, 2024

According to macro trader and crypto investor Jason Pizzino, the Bitcoin price is in a macro bullish outlook that closely matches the bullish breakout of gold and traditional stock indices. Notably, the gold price closed at a record high against the US dollar last week despite low demand in the crypto industry.

As Bitcoin price continues to show a bearish consolidation pattern, the crypto analyst stressed that a closing price below $56,000 in August would lead to further bearish pressure in September.

On the positive side, the crypto analyst stressed that a consistent close above $60,000 in the next two weeks will see the flagship coin reach its all-time high in the following months.

Market image

Bitcoin’s price has faced immense bearish pressure in recent months, despite a notable increase in demand from institutional investors. Last week, the State of Wisconsin Investment Board acquired an additional 447,651 shares of BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF, bringing its total holdings to 2,898,051 shares, valued at $98.9 million.

Goldman Sachs disclosed in an SEC filing that it holds more than $400 million worth of Bitcoin ETFs.

Rising demand for Bitcoin suggests a possible bullish breakout in Q4 2024, fueled by the upcoming US elections and possible interest rate cuts in the United States.

Apple Could Equip iPhone With Internal Modem in 2025, Benefits May Not Be Seen for Years: Mark Gurman

Apple could start equipping its smartphones with its own modem as early as 2025, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. While the Cupertino company has been working on its own modem technology for years and has reduced its reliance on Qualcomm chips, it has reportedly encountered a few challenges over the past few years, leading to several delays. Even if Apple does introduce the new modem in an upcoming iPhone model next year, it could still be years before Apple’s technology starts to deliver big benefits to customers.

In the latest edition of his weekly Power On newsletter, Gurman details Apple’s modem chip development, stating that it has been pushed back “until next year at the earliest” due to overheating and performance issues. This means that the iPhone 16 series, due out in the next few months, will likely feature a Qualcomm modem.

The Bloomberg journalist also says that the new modem will be introduced gradually, starting with “niche models.” This suggests that it may take several years for this technology to appear in all Apple iPhone models.

Last month, TF Securities International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the iPhone SE 4 and a “slim” model from the rumored iPhone 17 series — scheduled to launch in the first and third quarters of 2025, respectively — will feature the patented technology.

According to Gurman, Apple’s decision to replace Qualcomm modems in the iPhone could help the company reduce costs to some extent (the company may still have to pay some licensing fees to Qualcomm), but it will be years before the company’s chip offers any noticeable improvements over the ones it currently buys from Qualcomm.

If Apple’s plan to equip future iPhone models with its own modem proves successful, the company could eventually integrate it into its system-on-chip (SoC) to increase the amount of space available inside the iPhone, allowing for newer components or larger versions of existing ones.

Not Alia Bhatt, but this actress was Imtiaz Ali’s first choice to play Veera in Highway

New Delhi:

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Highway is still remembered for the brilliant performances of Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda and not many know that the Gangubai Kathiawadi actress was not the filmmaker’s original choice for the role of Veera. In an interview with Mid-Day, the director of Chamkila said that he originally envisioned the main character as a mature woman, not a young actress like Alia. However, meeting Alia Bhatt at the screening of Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana changed his mind. Imtiaz Ali said, “His emotional quotient was very high and I was drawn to talk to him.”

The director further revealed that his original vision was to cast an older actress, possibly someone like Aishwarya Rai, who he imagined would be perfect for Veera without makeup. However, he never approached anyone else after meeting Alia. “I always wanted to play a little bit older, like at least 30 years old. I didn’t want to play a more mature woman who has had the kind of experiences she was going to talk about in the film. Aishwarya Rai without any makeup would be a great choice,” she shared.

Imtiaz Ali made his directorial debut with the 2005 film Socha Na Tha. His cinema credits include hits Jab We Met, Highway, Rockstar, Chamkila, Tamasha. He has also directed projects like Jab Harry Met Sejal and Love Aaj Kal (both original and remake). Anurag Kashyap is best known for directing movies like Dev.D, Gangs Of Wasseypur (both parts), Mukkabaaz, Lust Stories, Ghost Stories, Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai, Manmarziyaan etc.

I tried Aldi’s £4 Vitamin C Eye Cream and I like it better than my £38 high-end alternative

Eye creams are moisturizing products that can help with many concerns such as lines, wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles.

For several years, I have switched between Ole Henriksen’s Banana Bright eye cream and Origins Ginzing Refreshing eye cream.

They are very expensive though, with Ole Henriksen retailing at a whopping £38 and Origin’s market at £30.

When I saw that Aldi had launched a Vitamin C eye cream I was very excited to try it out, especially when the price tag was only

The product description said: “Feel your best when you add this Lacura Vitamin C Eye Cream to your skincare routine.

“A brightening cream for puffy eyes and dark circles, while providing much-needed moisture.

“A gentle formula that is suitable for all skin types and adds a touch of luxury to your daily skin care routine.”

It is claimed to even out skin tone, brighten the skin around the eyes and help with premature aging such as lines and wrinkles.

On first impression, the packaging looks identical in a bright orange small pot with a white lid.

Upon opening, the cream looked exactly the same color as both the expensive options and even felt the same texture.

I used the Aldi cream for a month before doing comparisons with my beloved expensive alternatives.

The £4 cream glided under the eyes like a dream and blended seamlessly.

The scent is not overpowering, which I like in skincare products, and I was very impressed with this one.

Aldi recommended using eye cream in the morning and night, but I’ve only ever used eye cream in the morning, so I stuck to my routine.

After a month, my eye area looked brighter and it felt like my makeup stayed in place much better and there were less wrinkles.

I actually didn’t notice any difference between the Aldi eye cream and the high end options so I would definitely continue to use Aldi.

The only issue is availability as my local store is usually a bit thin on skin care.

George Santos faces trial, expected to plead guilty in fraud case, AP source says

Former U.S. Rep. George Santos is due in court Monday afternoon, where a person familiar with the matter said the New York Republican is expected to plead guilty to multiple charges in his federal fraud case.

The person could not publicly discuss the details of the plea and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. Santos and his attorney did not respond to requests for comment.

The case is scheduled to go to trial at the beginning of next month. Monday afternoon’s trial date on Long Island was not set until Friday at the request of both prosecutors and Santos’ attorneys. The letter presented by the request did not specify what it was about.

Santos has previously denied committing several alleged financial crimes, including lying to Congress about his wealth, collecting unemployment benefits while working and using campaign contributions to pay for personal expenses.

The 36-year-old was once touted as a rising political star after flipping a suburban district that spans affluent Long Island’s north shore and part of the New York borough of Queens.

But his life story began to unravel before he was sworn into office. At the time, reports surfaced that he had lied about a career at top Wall Street firms and his college degree, as well as other questions about his biography.

New questions then arose about his campaign funds.

He was first indicted federally in May 2023, but refused to resign. Santos was expelled from Congress after an ethics investigation found “overwhelming evidence” that he had broken the law and taken advantage of his public position.

Santos has previously maintained his innocence, though he said in an interview in December that settling with prosecutors was “not on the table.”

Asked if he was afraid of going to prison, he told CBS 2 at the time, “I think everybody should be afraid of going to prison, it’s not a pretty place and I definitely want to work hard to avoid it as much as possible.”

As the trial date approached in recent weeks, Santos had sought to have a partially anonymous jury, and his attorneys argued in court documents that “the mere risk of public ridicule could affect the ability of individual jurors to decide Santos’ case solely on the facts and the law as presented in court.”

He also wanted potential jurors to fill out a written questionnaire assessing their opinion of him. His lawyers argued that the inquiry was necessary because “Santos has already been found guilty in a general court”.

Judge Joanna Seybert agreed to keep the jurors’ identities public, but said no to questioning.

Prosecutors, however, had sought to admit into evidence some of the financial lies Santos told during his campaign, including that he had worked at Citigroup and Goldman Sachs and that he had run a family business with about $80 million in assets.

Two Santos campaign aides have already pleaded guilty to crimes related to the former congressman’s campaign.

His former treasurer, Nancy Marks, pleaded guilty in October to a fraud conspiracy charge, accusing Santos of an alleged scheme to embellish his campaign finance reports with fake loans and fake donors. Marks’ attorney said at the time that his client was willing to testify against Santos if asked.

Sam Miele, a former fundraiser for Santos, pleaded guilty a month later to a federal fraud charge, admitting that he impersonated a high-ranking congressional aide while raising money for the Santos campaign.

Huge increase in the number of illegal migrants in Spain!

The Spanish Interior Ministry has recorded a 66% increase in the number of people who entered the country illegally in just over seven months of 2024 compared to the same period last year.

Since the beginning of the year until August 15, 31,155 people have illegally crossed the land and sea border and entered Spain, the Interior Ministry reported on Saturday, quoted by the newspaper “El Pais”. Despite the increase in illegal immigration by 66%, there is a visible slowdown in the number of people entering compared to the first months of the year, the newspaper notes.

The majority of illegal immigrants, approximately 70 percent, arrive in Spain via the Canary Islands; compared to the first months of last year, their number has increased by 126 percent.

Morocco is increasingly controlling the matches, while the challenge now lies further south in Mauritania

– writes “El Pais”.

The newspaper recalls that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is expected to visit this African country at the end of the month to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Migrant route

Mauritania and its coastal waters are increasingly on the Atlantic route for residents of the Central Sahel and the Gulf of Guinea region who want to reach the Canary Islands without a visa. This is one of the most dangerous routes taken by migrants in the world. Tragic drownings occur there regularly.

According to the organization Caminando Fronteras, which defends the rights of migrants, around 5,000 people drowned on the Canary Islands route between January and May this year. people.

In addition to a significant increase in immigrants from Mauritania (more than 13,000 people in mid-August, 6,000 the previous year), police sources also note a significant increase in arrivals from Algeria (15%), mainly to the Balearic Islands.

Spain is currently the only Mediterranean country where the number of illegal border crossings is increasing, according to data from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), cited by “El Pais”.
