Suspected theft linked to Genesis Global Trading
A large, suspicious transaction of 4,064 Bitcoin, roughly equivalent to $238 million, has been detected on the blockchain, raising alarms among crypto users. Blockchain tracking service Whale Alert identified the transfer, which was then scrutinized by widely circulated on-chain sleuth ZachXBT.

The investigation determined that the embezzled funds were potentially linked to Genesis Global Trading, a major player in the crypto lending market. Specifically, the theft occurred from two addresses that were traced to Genesis Trading, with one address containing 642; one wallet containing 376 BTC and the other 2,173 BTC.
Regarding the matter, on-chain researcher ZachXBT, who reported the recorded $238 million BTC transfer, pointed out that the Lazarus Group may not be involved. ZachXBT, who previously attributed the theft to the North Korean Lazarus hacking group due to the scale and nature of the operation, later said that the behavior of the stolen funds was not consistent with Lazarus’ typical modus operandi.
However, the investigation has linked the stolen funds to Genesis Global Trading and therefore another perpetrator is involved in this theft. Lazarus has done many crypto hacks before, but this one does not seem to be visibly from them.
SlowMist, an upstream blockchain security firm, also commented on the event and suspected the association between the embezzled Bitcoin and Genesis Global Trading. The firm explained that money laundering was not a simple process, but rather a process that involved multiple transactions.

Monday was supposed to be the day when local government organizations would present their views to the government on the draft law on local revenues. The Joint Committee on Government and Local Administration met for this purpose. Marek Wójcik, secretary of KWRiST, an expert from the Association of Polish Cities, quoted by PAP said that the opinion will not be issued because the local government side did not receive the draft version after inter-ministerial consultations and did not receive a response from the Ministry of Finance to the comments submitted by local government companies.
Wójcik also recalled the demands that local government officials raised during talks with experts. – We ask that the law include two anchors for actions related to changes. Secondly, this act should include a similar solution regarding mutual commitment to develop a new education financing system, he said. He recalled the requirement to transfer an additional amount of not less than PLN 10 billion to local governments this year to improve their financial liquidity.

Hillary Clinton smiles and nods amid chants from Trump supporters
A crowd at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago loudly chanted “lock him up” after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attacked former President Donald Trump over his legal troubles.
The three-act chant was a new round of “lock him up,” one of the constant refrains of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign against Clinton. Trump frequently incited his supporters with attacks on Clinton’s record as secretary of state, including her use of a private email server, and he vowed to put her in prison.
Clinton, 76, did not respond to the chants. He tried to speak over the crowd as the chanting began. But as the commotion grew louder, he stood on the podium quietly, smiling and nodding until the audience fell silent.
The chants came after Clinton targeted Trump’s legal woes, mocking him for appearing to fall asleep in a Manhattan courtroom this summer during a quiet money trial.
“When he woke up,” he said, “he made his own kind of history: the first person to run for president with 34 felony convictions.”
Then the audience went wild.
A Manhattan jury in May convicted Trump of 34 felony counts of falsifying corporate records, charges of suppressing cash payments before the 2016 election to a porn star who said he had an affair with her.
Trump is scheduled to be sentenced next month. While a prison sentence is possible, legal analysts have said it is unlikely that Trump would receive such a sentence for a non-violent, first-time offense.
Vice President Kamala Harris has tried to quell chants of “lock him up” at Harris-Walz campaign rallies, in what may be an attempt to avoid the fiery rhetoric that flared at Trump events eight years ago.
NBC News has reported that any sign of Harris’ approval could further delay or complicate Trump’s pending federal criminal charges, including special counsel Jack Smith’s Jan. 6 and 2020 election interference cases.
Clinton, who lost to Trump in 2016, roused Democratic delegates in the audience with remarks that poked at Harris’ historic candidacy. “The future is here,” Clinton said to cheers.
“I wish my mother and Kamala’s mother could see us,” Clinton said in a statement that drew sustained applause and a standing ovation. “This is our time, America. This is when we rise up. This is when we break through!”
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Harris’ running mate, said “wow” when Clinton took the stage. Walz’s wife, Gwen, cried during the former first lady’s remarks.

Democrats project anti-Trump campaign messages onto his Chicago hotel

“This week, the entire country is witnessing what it looks like to unite behind hope and a clear vision for a better future as Democrats rally behind Vice President Harris and Governor Walz,” DNC spokesman Abhi Rahman said in a statement. “When Donald Trump and JD Vance have fallen for themselves, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are fighting for you.”
Trump’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment Sunday night.
Predictions were written in English and Spanish and changed every few seconds. Other messages included “Trump-Vance out of himself” and “Harris Walz joy and hope.”
“All eyes are on Chicago, and tonight everyone will see a preview of the contrast that will take center stage this week throughout the Democratic National Convention,” Rahman said.
The Democratic National Convention begins on Monday with several speakers leading up to President Joe Biden’s address in the evening. Harris is scheduled to make a speech on Thursday to formally accept the party’s presidential nomination.
Trump plans to hold a series of campaign events throughout the week, sharing the screen with his political rival. The Republican National Convention was held last month, just days after he was the target of an assassination attempt.
