The entry of the State into Telefónica alarms its rivals in Spain

Competitors of the old monopoly fear that there will be a distortion of competition, that regulations will be changed to favor it or that they will have advantages in public tenders.

The Government’s entry into Telefónica, through the taking of a stake of up to 10% that the state holding Sepi will buy, is generating concern and suspicion among the operator’s rivals in the Spanish telecom market.

"Cocoon": Five hours for the most interesting game of the year

What is a video game if not fun experimentation? Find out the character’s abilities and use your resources to conquer every obstacle, every level, every world, no matter how large. Observe the environment and discover the secrets hidden between the pixels and polygons. Every keystroke brings you closer to the possibilities that the game gives you – or not.

A number of blockbusters were released in this extraordinary year. Among other things, a new Assassin’s Creed , a new Baldur’s Gate , a new Spider-Man , all games with big budgets and equally large game worlds. In addition to them, games that were developed by small teams with comparatively few resources also triumphed this year. One of the most impressive is Cocoon , made by Danish indie studio Geometric Interactive. If you’re still looking for a special game around the holidays, you should choose Cocoon , which is available on all platforms for around 25 euros.

Review: Epos Impact 1060. Very long endurance headset

Professional sound from Denmark

Epos is one of the manufacturers that you often find in professional environments. It offers headsets for call centers, employees who are often on the road and for many other applications. Until recently it also focused on the gaming market, but it has now stopped doing that.

Epos comes from Denmark, a country where more audio brands have their origins, including the luxury brand Bang & Olufsen. The Danes look at this market slightly differently than others.

At Epos, comfort when listening comes first. They call it Brainadapt. This is a technology in which the sound is tuned in such a way that you have to think about it as little as possible. This is a major advantage if you wear a headset for a longer period of time, for example when attending a lengthy meeting or online conference. The Impact 1060 also has noise reduction. Because it is an on-ear model, this technology is less effective than headphones where your entire ear disappears into the shell of the headphones. It offers extra peace of mind. But as with the Logitech we recently looked at, that wouldn’t be the main reason to purchase it.

adv: This system makes your life as a system builder a lot easier

This article is brought to you by Corsair iCue Link

If you, as a system builder, are not skilled in braiding, you are at a disadvantage. A modern system contains a tangle of cables. Think of the thick power cable, that annoying 12Vhwpr cable, the cables for USB, audio and front panel, and of course those for the cooling and RGB.

A clean build is the dream of many.

With iCue Link, Corsair offers a smart solution to the cable problem. Certainly the cables for the fans and RGB are increasingly becoming a problem. They create a messy appearance in your closet and restrict airflow. In addition, the RGB connectors are a minor disaster when building a system. They become loose quickly, causing the lights to sometimes work and sometimes not. You can solve this by attaching them together with a little tape, but that is of course not ideal.

Easier, clearer and better airflow: the advantages of iCue Link.

Corsair’s iCue Link is a complete ecosystem that solves these problems. Thanks to the combination of the power of PCI Express and USB, this system ensures that you maintain complete control. The iCue Hub is a block of 2.5 x 2.5 cm that is connected to a PCI Express power supply, USB and fan connection. In combination with Corsair’s versatile iCue software, you have everything you need to perfectly tune your system.

iCue Link is available in many products.

Corsair is making its range of iCue products increasingly complete. It already includes a number of AIO coolers and case fans. Knowing the manufacturer, you can expect the choice to increase. In addition to products for convenience seekers, Corsair also offers a number of products for those who want to build a custom watercourse. Here you will find pumps, a 4-way splitter and loose cables.

Cables come in different lengths.

With a hub you can control up to fourteen devices. You don’t have to set them yourself; they are detected in one go thanks to the smart connection. That makes the installation and configuration process a lot easier.

Case fans

Corsair offers both 12cm and 14cm fans with the iCue system. You can click these fans together. For example, if you want to mount three or four fans at the top or front of your system, a single cable is sufficient. That cable does not even have to run to the hub, but can also be connected to your AIO, for example.

The hub is included with a starter kit.

AIO coolers

Just like with the AIOs with traditional connections, Corsair offers a wide choice of models with iCue Link. This varies from models with a compact 240mm radiator to more extensive models with a 420mm radiator. There are roughly two variants: with RGB or with an LCD screen. The latter variant is of course slightly more expensive, but it offers the option of reading the temperature directly through the window of your cupboard.

Other

In addition to AIO coolers, Corsair also offers products with iCue link with which you can build a custom watercourse. In this part of the program you will find pumps and coolers for your GPU and CPU. Separate cables and hubs are also available.

Knowing more? Check out this special iCue Link website.

Review:Philips Homerun 7000. Powerful but noisy vacuuming and mopping robot

Introduction

‘Philips, then it’s good’, is an old slogan of the well-known Dutch brand. Philips has an illustrious history and is a company that is still making history. It is a well-known name for many people in Europe. It now mainly produces medical products itself and most consumer electronics bearing the Philips name come from the factories of other companies. For example, TPV makes Philips screens, Signify Philips lamps and Versuni Philips home appliances.

In the latter category we were given the opportunity to test a vacuum cleaning robot. The HomeRun 7000 is a vacuum cleaner that is also suitable for mopping; so it is a 2-in-1. The variant that we have worked on comes with a large stand that contains both a dust bag and a reservoir for the water.

The machine uses laser navigation to find its way. On the product page, the manufacturer claims that the HomeRun 7000 can vacuum for three hours on a single battery charge. Now the working time of course depends on the circumstances, but with us he could mop or vacuum for a maximum of an hour. When the battery is empty, the device returns to its charging station to be charged and then continues its task.

The mop of the vacuuming and mopping robot is made of microfiber. We would immediately purchase a few extra mops, because after every mopping you have to put it in the wash. The manufacturer doesn’t make it too easy, because you will immediately find a second copy in the box. If you wash often and don’t mop too often, you won’t immediately have a problem. As with many other devices in this product category, it is not recommended to use cleaning agents in this case. The foam can cause blockage.

The mop vibrates, which means it is able to achieve quite a good result if you compare it with similar devices that do not vibrate. You can choose four settings for both mopping and vacuuming, from low to high. The lower the setting, the longer the robot will last. The suction power of the robot is reasonable, it is 5000Pa. We say ‘reasonable’ because the average handheld vacuum cleaner offers considerably more suction power. This is because a robot must of course have a much more compact engine.

AMD will publish the clock speeds of the AMD Zen 4c cores 'within a few weeks'

AMD last month unveiled the Zen 4c microarchitecture intended for its mobile Ryzen processors, starting with the Ryzen 5 7545U, Ryzen 3 7440U and the Ryzen Z1. However, some specifications were left in the dark at the unveiling. For example, it was mentioned that the regular Zen4 cores have a higher absolute clock speed limit, but the precise speeds of the CPUs that use the Zen 4c microarchitecture were not mentioned.

Tom’s Hardware found that not only were clock speeds not listed, but the processors’ main spec pages don’t even mention that they run (partially) on the smaller and lower-performance Zen 4c cores. To find out if and how many of these cores are present, consumers must search the list of all specifications, although this list is not present on many retailers’ product pages. In marketing materials for the Ryzen 5 8540U and Ryzen 3 8440U, the presence of these cores is also omitted. According to the site, this smacks of misleading marketing practices, so it decided to contact AMD.

The general specifications state how many cores the CPU has, but not what type of cores

The chip manufacturer promises in a response that it will reveal the clock speeds of the Zen 4c cores ‘soon’. In addition, the main specification pages of the Ryzen CPUs should also state whether and how many Zen4c cores are present. However, AMD states that it will take ‘a few more weeks’ to implement these changes to its website.

Sony will not remove purchased Discovery series from PlayStation accounts after all

At the beginning of this month, Sony announced that the roughly 1,200 series from TV studio Discovery, which were available on the PlayStation Store, will be removed from the video library of accounts that have purchased them from next year. However, the Japanese company is now backtracking.

In an update on the PlayStation website, Sony announced that it has signed a new licensing agreement with Warner Bros. at the last minute. has closed, so the Discovery content will not be removed after all. GamesIndustry.biz shared a longer statement from the company, in which it said users will “still have access to their purchased content for at least the next thirty months.” The question remains whether Sony will then be willing to extend the license agreement again. It has no longer been possible to purchase films and series in the PlayStation Store since 2021, but content that has already been purchased can still be viewed.
