Intel will buy six high-NA EUV machines from ASML next year
Intel will be the first company to take delivery of a 0.55 numerical aperture (high-NA) extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography device from ASML this year, with the majority of machines planned for 2024. The number of machines suggests that Intel plans to use the Twinscan EXE machines more widely. With these EUV machines, Intel can eventually also produce 2nm chips, but that probably won’t happen before 2025.
ASML will produce just ten of these machines next year, with the remaining four already allocated to Samsung. There are of course other competitors such as TSMC, SK Hynix and Micron that also require EUV equipment. The impact of Intel purchasing the majority of these machines is not clear at this time and there is fierce competition between companies to acquire these machines.
Intel will first receive the Twinscan EXEL 5000 pilot scanner from ASML and use it primarily to learn how to most effectively use high-NA EUV lithography in commercial chip production. Intel originally planned to use these machines for its Intel 18A (18 Angstroms, 1.8nm-class) production node to make the smallest possible prints, but had to opt for EUV multi-pattering given the expected arrival of the high -NA equipment. The Twinscan EXE:5200 scanners they receive next year will be used for mass production of chips with Intel 18A and other processes from 2025 and beyond.
This is expected to have a positive impact on the company’s production cycles, although the machines are more expensive than their predecessors. Since the machines have many small processors, it is not yet clear what influence this will have on the production process. Intel is therefore at the forefront in learning high-NA processes, which gives it an advantage over its competitors. The company can start producing in large volumes sooner, giving it a significant advantage over TSMC and Samsung Foundry.
Samsung is also not sitting idle and has signed its own deal with ASML to prioritize high-NA technology. The company mainly wants to focus on the production of DRAM memory chips and logic chips in the long term.

AMD puts Ryzen 7 5700 on website, 8000G APUs and 5700X3D spotted at retailers
It looks like AMD will soon introduce several new processors. For example, Twitter user Momomo_us has not only discovered the upcoming Ryzen 8000G APUs, but also four new Ryzen 5000 chips at some online stores. The Ryzen 7 5700 is included in this list and can now also be found on AMD’s website.
According to the specifications, the Ryzen 7 5700 is a variant of the 5700G (Cezanne), not the 5700X (Vermeer). Both combine 8 cores and 16 threads with 16 MB of L3 cache, while the 5700X has 32 MB. The base clock speed of 3.7 GHz is 100 MHz lower than that of the 5700G, the boost is the same at 4.6 GHz. An important difference is that the 5700 does not have an integrated GPU on board.
In addition, no specifications have emerged, but the first prices of a lot of other SKUs have surfaced. It concerns three different retailers, who have posted the prices of six unannounced chips online. It will soon become clear to what extent these are placeholders.
Videocardz has put all amounts in one handy overview.
The Ryzen 7 8700G and Ryzen 5 8600G and 8500G are offered for US$190 to US$440, followed by US$260 to US$340 for the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. The Ryzen 7 5700 is available at only one retailer, which charges $170. Finally, there are the Ryzen 5 5600GT and 5500GT, which should change hands for $130 to $200.

Review: AGM H6. Affordable, solid phone with IP69K, IP68 and MIL-STD-810H
Introduction
Are you looking for a sturdy phone for not too much money? Then the AGM H6 might be an option. You can purchase it for 260 euros. For that money you get specifications that seem simple at first glance, with a housing that can take a beating. The device is not lightweight; it weighs 240 grams. In terms of weight, the AGM H6 is therefore less attractive than the lighter devices we have looked at recently. However, it offers a number of other things that may still make it interesting for some target groups.
Looking through the specifications, the AGM appears to have an IP69K certification. This means that it is dust and moisture proof. It can also withstand high-pressure water jets, which can even be hot. This would allow you to use the device in an industrial environment. IP69K is supplemented with IP68; so it is also waterproof. To complete the list, the device has a MIL-STD-810H certification, which means it can take a beating. These types of specifications make the phone interesting for couriers and other people who work outside a lot.
The design of the H6 is functional and certainly not sexy. To make the device water and dustproof, AGM has chosen to seal the connections. If you want to connect a USB-C cable or wired headset, you must first open the connection openings.
Charging the device is not very fast; it takes about two hours before the 4900mAh battery is full. In our test with PCMark for Android Work 3.0, the device lasts 13.5 hours on a battery charge. That is an hour longer than average.
The connections are sealed.

Specs of OnePlus 12R on the street, potentially great value for the money
In addition to the OnePlus 12, OnePlus will also introduce the OnePlus 12R of the same name worldwide on January 23. Unlike the regular model, the 12R has not yet been announced in China and therefore little official information is known. The tipster Max Jambor has already shared more details about the device on Twitter.
According to the leaker, the OnePlus 12R will be equipped with a 6.78-inch ProXDR display, which offers an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. While the OnePlus 12 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 under the hood, the Gen 2 is mentioned for the 12R. The SoC is reportedly paired with 8 or 16 GB lpddr5x and 128 or 256 ufs storage.
OnePlus also seems to be saving on the camera system: the 12R is said to have an IMX890 as the main sensor (50 MP), followed by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP macro lens. For reference, the regular OnePlus 12 features a 50MP main sensor, a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. With a capacity of 5,500 mAh, the battery would offer 100 mAh more than that of its bigger brother. 100W fast charging is also available, but it is not known whether it supports wireless charging.
Jambor indicates that the phone will be released in China on January 4, followed by the global release on January 23. The recommended retail price is not mentioned. If the Chinese smartphone manufacturer uses the same strategy as with the previous generation, the OnePlus 12R may offer a lot for an attractive price. The OnePlus 11R, which is only available in India, is a quarter cheaper than the regular 11.

CableMod initiates recall for angled 12VHPWR adapters and calls for their disuse
CableMod has initiated a recall for its 12vhpwr right angle adapters. The company has determined that the updated version 1.1 may also have problems and has therefore decided to no longer sell such products. This specifically concerns adapters: (angled) 12vhwpr cables that are connected directly are not affected.
With this adapter it should be a lot easier to hide the 12vhpwr cable from video cards.
The recall includes all right-angled adapters, i.e. all 90° and 180° variants of versions 1.0 and 1.1. The male side of this connector can come loose (which plugs into the GPU), causing it to overheat and melt. The manufacturer therefore calls on you to stop using it immediately. Anyone who has one of these adapters in a system is recommended to switch off the system and wait a while before unplugging it – so that the adapter is not too hot.
More practical information should emerge over the next few days. Customers who have already experienced problems using this adapter can contact customer service.

The announcement made on Tuesday, after the meeting of the Council of Ministers, that the Government has ordered Sepi to buy Telefónica shares up to 10% of its capital, opens a series of uncertainties that should be clarified as soon as possible.
If it is an isolated event to safeguard the strategic nature of the company after an agreement with the other two reference partners, BBVA and La Caixa, the decision could make sense. But if, on the contrary, it means the return of the public sector
