Spotlight light on Teri Anne Stanely's Drunk on You
Book Title: DRUNK ON YOU
Author: TERI ANNE STANLEY
Release Date: July 21, 2015
Book Synopsis: Justin Morgan would happily drown the pain of his injured leg—and the guilt he brought back from Afghanistan—in bourbon. Except, there won’t be any booze if he doesn’t rescue his family’s century-old distillery from financial ruin. The problem? Allie McGrath—youngest daughter of the distillery’s co-owners, and the one woman he can’t have.
Allie has been in love with Justin since…well, she's always been in love with him. Now he's home, broken up over the death of her brother, and he needs help. She can fix the distillery—she’s sure of it—but no one’s taking her or her sweet new idea seriously. Convincing Justin is her only hope.
Allie is more tempting than Justin expected, threatening a promise he swore he’d never break. If he can’t keep their attraction under control, there’s a solid chance they’ll send the whole enterprise crumbling to the ground…if he doesn’t crash and burn first.

Excerpt 2: Justin tucked the towel around his waist and hoisted himself up onto hisgood leg, holding on to his crutches with one hand. Allie put a shoulder into his side and an arm around his waist. He tried not to lean on her, he really did. He tried not to put his free arm around her and smell her hair.
“Holy shit, Justin, you’re heavy.”
He couldn’t think about her soft body beneath his, those green eyes staring up at him, all soft and wanting. Hewas Justin the Buddy, not Justin the Creeper. “It’s because my manly muscles are extra dense. Like Superman, except instead of steel I’m a man of granite.
“You are the most full-of-crap person on the planet, do you know that?”
And yet she didn’t pull away. If anything, her hand tightened on his waist.
“Let me go, babe. I can hobble in there under my own steam.”
She let him go, but hovered close by. From the corner of his eye, he could tell she was checking him out. He tried to gimp a little faster to keep her from noticing that his towel wasn’t hanging flat in the front. They made it to the bathroom, and Allie turned on the faucets to fill the tub. She patted the edge, and he lowered himself to sit, his bum leg sticking awkwardly out into the room. He had to put his hand in hers to steady himself. She knelt and began unfastening the Velcro strips holding the brace in place.
Jesus, Mary, and Uncle Steve. She was on her knees in front of him, and he was wearing a damned towel. He had a moment of dream déjà vu. A strand of rich honey hair had come loose from her ponytail and curled in the steam rising from the tub. He reached out to tuck it around his finger, but then pulled up short of actually touching her. She was Dave’s kid sister. No touching.
She looked up, something like heat in her eyes that was quickly masked by humor. “Do you want some Mr. Bubble in your tub?”
He actually considered it. She was going to have to help him in and out of the tub. But he couldn’t quite figure out how he was going to casually scoop a handful of bubbles over his semi-stiffy between dropping his towel and getting
into the water.
He turned a little, to maneuver his good leg into the tub.He took a breath and grabbed the side of his towel, ready to yank it off.
Allie must have realized the reality of his predicament, because her face was red. She met his eyes with a stricken expression, then dropped her gaze like his groin was an eye magnet.
“It’s just a dick, Sneezy,” Justin said, pulling the towel off Band-Aid-style—all at once, to get the agony over with. He lowered himself into the water while she cradled his damaged ankle.
She stared at his crotch. And kept staring.
Justin almost reached for the towel again.
“You’re right. It’s just a dick,” she said, once he was settled. She turned to walk out. “I’m going to get started on some work. Holler when you want to get out of the tub.”
“It’s not just a dick,” he called after her. “It’s a really nice dick!”

About the Author:
When one door closes, another one opens. I closed the door to my business for the last time in 2011, which left me with a decision. What now? Find another location and move my nutrition business, go to work for someone else, or take a chance on my dream? I chose the latter and I’ve never looked back!
I’ve always loved reading and writing, but it wasn’t until I jumped in with both feet and decided writing would be my career, instead of just a hobby, that my muse woke up from her deep slumber. It was like someone flipped a switch inside my head and stories just came pouring out. At the end of the day, I would often look at the keyboard and wonder, ‘Who the heck wrote that? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure it wasn’t me!’
I don’t write books. I tell stories, or rather, I allow my characters to tell their stories through me. I’m not a plotter, never have been, never will be. Why? Because I have no idea how the story will evolve and it’s not my place to manipulate it. My job is to get to know these characters, figure out what makes them tick, then follow their journey wherever it takes me.
When I’m not writing, I’m daydreaming. Thankfully, I have an understanding husband and son who know I’ll re-join the land of the living just as soon as my muse decides it’s quitting time. I don’t work for myself. I work for her. She’s the boss. And I’m okay with that.

Excerpt:
With the launch party at the forefront of my mind, I made my way downstairs to wardrobe.Half a dozen women turned, gaping at me. I rarely made personal selections for my models, but Ididn’t think my presence warranted such stunned silence.“Good afternoon, ladies,” I said, trying to hide my amusement.“Hello, Mr. Starkis,” one of the women stammered. “How can we help you?”“I’m here about the fashion show this weekend.”She gestured toward several hanging racks. “Everything’s taken care of, sir. You’rewelcome to have a look at the samples. They’re right over there.”“I’d like to see what Mia Barnes will be wearing.”Two women exchanged curious glances before one said, “Of course, Mr. Starkis. I’ll getthose selections right away.”I barely noticed the gorgeous models milling about half-naked, being fitted for the upcomingshow. Many were trying to get my attention, smiling or giving me sultry looks as they met myeyes in the full-length mirror. They had been hand-selected for their talent and beauty, but nonewere Mia, therefore none held my attention for long.“Here they are,” the harried, middle-aged woman with the blond bob and pixie skirt said. “Ithink these will look fabulous on Mia.” She laughed. “I’ve worked in this business a long time, and I can tell you it’s rare to find a model who looks amazing in everything she tries on. Mosthave some flaw they wish to hide, but not our Mia.”I smiled tightly. Our Mia? Wrong. She was my Mia. “I’m sure you’re right, but that onewon’t work,” I said, pointing at the lavender silk bra and matching panties on the white satinhanger. “Next.”Looking stricken, the woman said, “But—”“It’s lovely…?”“Barbara.”“It’s lovely, Barbara. Just not what I have in mind for Mia. May I see the next one?”She held up a black lace bustier with a matching thong, looking apprehensive. She had everyreason to be nervous. The only time I expected to see Mia parading around wearing that waswhen she was modeling it for me.“I want her to model the bridal collection.” I knew that was sexy yet demure.“The bridal collection?” Barbara seemed stunned by my request.“Is there a problem?”“Um, no, but with Eleni’s darker coloring, I thought she would be perfect for the bridalcollection.”“You thought wrong,” I said, pinning her with a stare that brooked no argument. “Switchthem. Eleni can wear these.” I gestured toward the pieces Mia had been slotted to wear. “Miawill model the bridal collection.”“Of course, Mr. Starkis. Anything you say, sir.”

NY Times & USA Today bestselling author, Jennifer Lowery's Murphy's Law

Murphy’s LawRomantic Suspense
Tagline: He lost his family. She gave them back to him.Blurb:Home is the last place Jon Murphy can go. After being held captive in Azbakastan, he returns to the States only to find he can’t face his mom and sisters with what he did while he was a prisoner, so he retreats to the mountains.Widow Sara Sheldon has made a lifetime of mistakes and is now running scared from her husband’s powerful family, who are determined to take her daughter away from her. When her little girl goes missing in the Rockies, Sara enlists the only help she can find: a gruff recluse with tracking skills to admire and a body to covet.A storm strands Sara and her daughter at Murphy’s cabin, leaving her no choice but to hope her in-laws don’t catch up while she plans where to run next. Murphy resents the invasion of his privacy, but can’t seem to keep his mind--or his hands--off Sara. How can she stand to look at him, with all his scars? He’s not nearly as honorable as she might think…only enough to make sure she’s safe, and then he’ll go back to being alone, the way he should be.Content Warning: Sexual content **Murphy’s Law: Previously published by Lyrical Press in 2013*****Murphy’s Law was a 2006 Golden Heart Finalist***

Excerpt:Copyright © 2014, Jennifer Lowery
Murphy sat at the kitchen table, half in the shadows created by the soft light glowing above the stove. A bottle of amber liquid sat on the table in front of him, an empty glass in his hand. His hair was tousled from sleep and to Sara’s dismay, he was naked to the waist. Her gaze landed on his muscled shoulders and trailed across his tanned chest. So much for getting him out of her mind. Now she had the real thing to dream about. Looking at the dark hairs that veed down his chest and disappeared behind the table, she decided he had been right. He was a dangerous man.She tore her eyes away from temptation and looked at the granite lines of his face. Beneath the hardness of his expression, something haunting lingered. Drawn, she circled the table until she stood at the opposite end.Murphy met her eyes with coldness that should have sent her running for the safety of her room, but she remained standing in place. He wanted to chase her away. This time she wasn’t running.“Mind if I join you?” she asked on her way to the cupboard to grab a glass and return to stand over Murphy’s shoulder. She reached for the bottle. The muscles in his shoulders flexed when she leaned over him.Murphy’s hand snaked out and wrapped around hers, preventing her from pouring a drink.“I mind,” he growled.“Well, get over it. I need a drink.”Scowling, he let go of her hand and allowed her to pour a glass for herself. She refilled his glass next and set the bottle on the table. Then she moved to the chair beside him and sat before lifting her glass in a silent toast.“Cheers.” She brought the glass to her lips. His eyes on her as she drained the glass made her fight the urge to cough as the fiery liquid burned its way down her throat. Seconds later she felt the familiar warming sensation as it numbed her insides. Her eyes filled with tears. She blinked them away as she reached for the bottle.Murphy held it away from her. “What are you doing?”“Having a drink. I’m not in the mood for warm milk tonight.”His eyes darkened and narrowed. “You don’t strike me as the drinking type.”She wasn’t, but tonight it sounded good. Maybe it would soothe away her problems and make her forget how screwed-up her life was. Talking about Kent earlier had brought back painful memories. She didn’t want to feel that misery anymore tonight.“Maybe you don’t know my type,” she said.Murphy studied her closely for a moment before rubbing a weary hand over his face. “Go back to bed, Sara. Sleep it off.”“I don’t want to sleep it off. I’m tired of thinking about it.”Maybe it was the whisky, or the sight of Murphy’s naked chest, or the part of her that had been dormant for six years coming back to life. More than anything she wanted to discover it with Murphy, her strong, scarred hero. She rose to her feet. Murphy watched warily as she stepped in front of him and positioned herself between him and the table. He leaned back in his chair and sent her a thunderous look.“You and I are alike in many ways, Murphy,” she said softly. “We both have lost pieces of ourselves we can’t ever get back and it has forced us into a life of loneliness and solitude. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of being alone.”Murphy pinned her with a hard glare. “I’m not what you want. Go back to your room before I do something we’ll both regret in the morning.”His harshly spoken words sent little electrical shocks through her body.“I’m tired of people telling me what I want,” she said.

This is what people are saying about Murphy’s Law:I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Cindy Gerard, Tara Janzen, or Cherry Adair series. Each of these writers have the same flavor with a secret ingredient in their stories as does Jennifer Lowery. Great story!

Pole Dancer - Flame - is on stage on #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSS101

Scene Set - Flame is a pole dancer and is on stage. (a bit of editing to make it fit.)
Want me, don't you? You creepy bastard. Biting her bottom lip to hide the smirk threatening to adhere to her lips, Flame pushed off the stage, grabbed the pole, threw her legs outward, and swung. She planted her feet wide apart on the floor, reached back overhead, gripped the metal rod, and, moving hand over hand, bent backward until her head was low between her legs. She could imagine the look on the Yankee fan's face and the effect of staring directly at her crotch was having on him. She loved tormenting the baseball fan as he was the stereotypical lowlife who hung out in strip clubs and bars, and she played on that. She'd writhe, moan, and pose, offering him the sexual fantasy he'd come to LEATHER-ICIOUS for.

FL. E. S. H.FLame's Electrifying Sexy HeatWhen secrets conflict with dreams, love explodes.
After a mistake by a surgeon’s scalpel shattered Fuchsia Quinn's dance career, she picked up the pieces of her life and moved forward. As the owner of a small, struggling dance school in a depressed neighborhood she supplements her income with a late night job at a dive bar. Haunted by the fear of humiliation, if her secret is revealed, her life was under control until the night he walked into the bar.
Peyton Lang, having run from a bad neighborhood, lives the lifestyle of a successful billionaire. Frustrated that his current multi-million dollar project is stalled, Peyton drops in to LEATHER-ICIOUS for a simple drink and late night entertainment. What he saw was a beautiful redhead. What he found was he wanted her.
After a lusty night with a hot pole dancer, Peyton and Fuchsia's worlds are about to collide.

What people are saying about FLESH5 Star ***** This short story has all the qualities of a great story and it is all compacted in a manner that makes for a satisfying read. Ms. Devore has convinced me that I need to read more of her books, especially if they are written like this one was. One has the initial attraction between two people, their getting to know each other, the misunderstanding and the makeup between them...what more could one want???? Worth the read.
5 Star ***** Ms. Devore has done it again. As one of my favorite, and most anticipated authors, I found myself riveted to the characters and the surprising plot twist that threw me for a loop. I read all her books...what can I say.
5 Star ***** I had never read any of Daryl Devore's books and man, am I glad I read this one! Peyton is the guy we all want and Fuchsia is a girl who is not giving up on her dreams. When the two collide, everything is turned upside down and the result is hot, but also laugh out loud funny. I will definitely have to read more of Devore's books!
5 Star ***** This is the first book I have had the privilege of reading by Daryl Devote (Devore). I'm hooked!! Peyton and Fuchsia's story was full of heat and love. Their playful banter had me laughing out loud. I would definitely recommend this book to my family and friends.

From Brace For Impact - Guy sets out to rescue Lori - Crashing Into Love box set on Friday Snippets #FridaySNippets #Crashing Into Love

Scene set- Rookie flight attendant Lori is trapped on a plane that has crash landed on a coral reef and is beginning to sink.
Guy gripped his fingers around the flight attendant's upper arm and pulled with all his strength. The damn evacuation chute pinned her. He knelt and tucked his hand under her head, lifting her face above the seawater. Water streamed down her cheeks. He brushed it away. Her name tag attached to the lanyard floated on the surface. He held it close to his face and peered at it in the darkness. Lori. She coughed. Good. Still alive. Then she vomited seawater. He leaned back and tugged at her. God damn security rules. If I had a knife… He peered through the inky blackness toward the aft galley then shook his head. He'd have to let her head submerge if he was going to search for anything sharp to slice through the thick material.Desperation clouded his thoughts. What should he do? He wouldn't let her die. He'd seen enough senseless deaths. He hoisted her as high out of the water as he could then snaked his arm around her and grabbed - Boob? Will have to remember to apologize later. He leaned against the chute and pushed into it. It gave a little. She moved a smidge. Encouraged, he shoved forward and tugged at her. She stayed. The plane rocked. His feet slipped. His ribs crushed against the armrest of the aisle seat.Merde. He pushed to standing and braced himself."You hold her. I'll push."Guy peered toward the sound of the voice. The man who'd sat two rows ahead worked his way past him. He was the size of an NFL linebacker. "Ready?""Ready." Struggling around the bulk of the life vest, Guy wrapped his arms around the flight attendant's upper body."Pull!" The man grunted as he heaved into the chute. He stumbled back. "Damn. Ready?""Yup." Guy tightened his grip and leaned back, lifting the flight attendant's face higher from the sloshing water."Pull! Move. Dammit."Guy's jaw clenched as he tugged, trying to release Lori from the death grip of the chute."Argh!" His strained voice filled the aft of the cabin. When Guy felt the pressure ease, he hauled back with all his force. Lori popped out like a newborn baby. Her weight threw him off balance, he landed flat on his backpack, splashing through the chair deep seawater. She floated up. A hand gripped his shirt, jerking him upward. "I gotcha. Ain't losing her after I just rescued her." The man's breathing was labored.Spitting out water, Guy got his feet under him. "Thanks man. I got her. You get out of here." He shifted his backpack then lifted Lori over his shoulder. Not lady like, but efficient in a narrow aisle. He sloshed though the water, stretching one hand from seat back to seat back, leading himself out of the plane. The plane shuttered. The tail dropped.

Melissa Keir's Crash and Burn from the Crashing Into Love box set #CrashingIntoLove

Today I have the fabulous Melissa Keir on my blog with her – Crash and Burn - from the Crashing Into Love box set.
Lost meets Romancing the Stone--action adventure, a dash of mystery, and romance to die for.
Seven planes lift off…seven planes crash…seven stories of struggle, passion and love in the barren Canadian Wilderness, the coast of England, or the steamy heat of a tropical island. Romance hangs in the balance between survival and death.
Crash and Burn by Melissa Keir Can Rob and Keira's second honeymoon lead to romance, or will it crash and burn? On the verge of a divorce, Rob and Keira Matthews book a second honeymoon at the urging of their counselor. Unable to conceive, they've pushed each other away in an effort to protect their hearts. Will a romantic holiday be the ticket to love or a plane crash in disaster??
Excerpt:Crashing waves.A wet tongue on her cheek.Damp and lying on a hard ground, Keira rolled to her side and coughed up water. Unable to catch her breath, she pushed herself up on her hands and knees. Choking, coughing, fluid flowed from her lungs.Somewhere nearby, the dog barked.“Oh, my God. Rob!” She crawled to her husband’s prone body at the edge of the water. She flipped him to his back then laid her head on his chest. No heartbeat.“Honey. Wake up.” She pounded on his chest. Tears flowed down her face. “I won’t give you up. We’ve had too much history. Fight, baby. Come back to me.” She straddled his body and began chest compressions. “One, and two, and three.” She parted his lips then blew into his mouth. She returned to pushing on his chest. “One, and two, and three. Come on, dammit. Fight!”Time ceased as she continued the compressions. Frightened, she shuddered then threw her body down over his chest. Sobs decimated her frame.“Please, God. Don’t take him from me.” Pleading, bargaining, beseeching.Water flowed out of his mouth as coughs rocked him. He gagged.“Rob!” She pushed him onto his side and thumped on his back as he expelled more water. “Thank God. Just cough it out.”“Please don’t cry.” His words croaked out as he rolled onto his back. His gaze met hers. He reached toward her face, but his arm fell back to the sand.“We need to get you out of the water. I can’t do it on my own.” She stood and grabbed under his arms. Pulling him, she quickly tired. “You have to help. Use your legs and push.”This time, he moved out of the water. Gris lay down next to Rob and licked his hand.“I’m going to look around.” As she straightened, her legs buckled, and she collapsed on the sand. “I think I’ll just lie here for a bit.” She curled in next to her husband and let sleep overtake her.

MAYDAY MAYDAY WE ARE GOING DOWNByEllen Hardinon June 19, 2015
then i liked Crash and Burn by Melissa Keir - rob and keira are on the verge of divorce- they decide to take a second honeymoon to see if they can salvage their marriage- after the plane goes down they slowly find their way back to each other- other then being on a deserted island it's perfect- well not quite- 1 or 2 plot twists here that caught me by surprise--
About Melissa Keir

For my wedding in Vegas, my books and computer came with me but there wasn't enough room for my wedding shoes. It’s all about priorities! As an avid reader, I was probably born with a book in hand. Luckily my mom was also an avid reader, so it was easy to "borrow" her books when my books were finished.I was reading from an early age about dashing men on horseback riding to the rescue of strong willed and capable women who didn't really need rescuing. I came to expect that women in fairy tales should have fought their own battles. When I was older, I found Margaret Atwood and realized that women could re-tell history in their own way and I experimented with changing those basic fairy tales.Fortunately for me, my husband allows me the opportunity to be myself (spend my salary on books) and still takes care of the really important things for me like killing spiders and opening jars. As an elementary teacher, teaching children about the many worlds inside of books is a gift that I’m lucky enough to do for a living. Teaching the next generation to love reading is a lot of fun! Reading the right book can make a new world come alive!Currently living in the suburbs of Ann Arbor, Michigan with my darling husband, way-too-grown-up children and spoiled dogs, I enjoy getting away through a book to escape the harsh winters or summer road construction.I’d love to hear from you! www.melissakeir.com http://www.facebook.com/melissakeirwww.twitter/melissa_keir

It's just bad thing after another for Flame on this week's WIP It Up Wednesday #Wipitup

From FLESH -
Scene set - Flame and Peyton have "met". She was performing - he tucked a $50 tip into her bra. Now she is backstage finished peforming for the evening. She's depressed about her current life.
Flame slid her hands under the wig, released a few bobby pins and dropped the false hair onto a mannequin head. She peeled off her black leather bra and thong, flipped a towel over her shoulder, grabbed a small plastic bag, and headed for the shower. She tried to always shower at the club that way she wasn't paying for water. Every little bit helped. The warm water streamed down her body, washing away the stage makeup, glitter, and sweat. Also easing a few of the aches nagging her. After she finished rinsing, she turned off the water then ran her fingers through her short brown hair. Quickly drying, she dressed in a worn pair of baggy sweat pants and a U of M sweatshirt. Not her Alma Mater. She found the shirt in a used clothes store for three dollars. Cheap was good.Padding back to her makeup area, she rubbed her hair and released a small yelp when she stubbed her toe on her chair. She dropped the towel over the back of the chair. Something nudged at the back of her mind. Something wasn't right. Her stomach dropped as her hand flew to her mouth. The drawer where her purse was hidden was open."No. No. No." She ripped open her wallet. The fifty dollar bill was gone. Anger seethed in her. She wanted to smash things and scream. Confusion mixed with rage. Who'd do this to her? Not one of the girls. They were friends. She shook so violently she collapsed on her chair. Were they friends? Not really. They were just people she worked with at a shitty job in a shitty club. Fifty dollars. How could she lose that much? Tears rolled down her cheeks and dripped onto her sweat pants. For a brief moment she'd had a hope that she could afford the rent increase and everything would be decent for a while. Her heart skipped. Fear gripped her. Was this the moment she dreaded? The moment when she'd have to face losing her second dream? An anguished sob escaped her lips. She wrapped her arms around her shoulders and hugged herself. No one was there to console her. There had never been anyone there for her with a comforting embrace.

Excerpt from SEAL the Deal by Makenna Jameison:
“And what keeps you up at night?” he asked huskily, watching her blush again at the sexual undertones of his question.
“Work,” she finally replied, recovering, as she met his blue gaze.
He grinned at her, trying to put her more at ease. “You’re too easy to tease,” he finally admitted. It wasn’t like him to want to put anyone at ease, but something about this woman had him feeling possessive and protective at the same time. Not to mention incredibly, uncomfortably, aroused.
“It’s not nice to tease people,” Abby said innocently, and Rebecca and Patrick both burst into laughter.
“You’re not having any ice cream either,” Rebecca pointed out.
He shrugged, not really caring to explain that he was on a strict training regimen. “So Rebecca,” he said, enjoying the way the sound of her name felt on his lips, “do you and Abby frequent the playground often?”
“Yes!” Abby shouted.
Rebecca smiled at her daughter and looked back to him. “It’s pretty much our Sunday afternoon tradition when the weather is good.”
He considered that, wanting to see her again without knowing entirely why. “Maybe Logan and I will see you here next weekend?”
“I’d like that.”
He stared at her a moment longer then he should have and then stood. “Come on, buddy, let’s get going.” Logan jumped to his feet, and Patrick rested his hand on his son’s shoulder before meeting Rebecca’s eyes. “Stay safe,” he said, before turning to leave. He could feel her eyes watching him as they walked out the front door, and it took absolutely all of his strength not to look back.
