Paix's spa moment from Brace For Impact from the Crashing Into Love box set on My Sexy Saturday #MSS99

From Brace For Impact from the Crashing Into Love anthology. The suggestion in the sign up sheet of the lover doing something for his love and a spa was suggested inspired this snippet.

Scene set - Paix and Guy have survived a plane crash but are on a deserted Caribbean island. Guy has just found a fresh water stream.



The cool water flowing over Paix's neck brought a shiver as well as joy. She scooped a handful and splashed her face. The water streamed down her cheeks, dripped off her chin and trickled onto her chest. She wanted to wallow in the stream's delicious coolness. Let the water slip over her skin. The island was muggy. Trudging through the forest was hard work.

Scene set - Paix and Guy crash landed on an island. They have just found a stream of fresh water and Paix wishes to clean up


The cool water flowing over Paix's neck brought a shiver as well as joy. She scooped a handful and splashed her face. The water streamed down her cheeks, dripped off her chin and trickled onto her chest. She wanted to wallow in the stream's delicious coolness, letting the water slip over her skin. The island was muggy. Trudging through the forest was hard work. She didn't want to complain, but her feet ached from cuts and bruises. As a child, she'd run around the park in her bare feet, laughing with delight until her mother would insist she put her shoes on or they'd go home. At this moment, Paix missed her shoes.After dropping her clothes next to her feet, she tugged on the hair tie, loosening the bun. She felt and heard it pop. Looking at the broken elastic, she sighed. Never fails. Don’t have an emergency hair tie and this one has to break. She knelt next to the stream and leaned forward, sloshing her hair in the water. It wasn't as good as a washing from a professional hair stylist, but it did rinse off the salt and get some of the sand out of her hair. Standing, she flipped her hair back over her shoulders and let it hang down her back. Rivers of water streamed off each strand. She scooped a couple of handfuls of water and splashed it against her body. Her nipples contracted at the touch of the coolness. She slid her hands down her body, wiping away the water. Closing her eyes, she imagined Guy stroking her. His large, strong hands brushing softly against her flesh. His biteable lips kissing her neck.Snapping herself from her thoughts, she bent low, cupped her hand and filled it with water. She raised her hand to her lip and sucked in the liquid."Oh, mon Dieu." His voice broke the silence. "Now I know what heaven looks like."

These two elements - Canada Day and a newly released box set Crashing into Love boxed set. My hero, Guy Lapierre, is Canadian.

Scene set - The plane has crash landed in the water. Lori, the cute flight attendant is trapped, RCMP officer, Guy Lapierre, to the rescue.




Guy gripped his fingers around the flight attendant's upper arm and pulled with all his strength. The damn evacuation chute pinned her. He knelt and tucked his hand under her head, lifting her face above the seawater. Water streamed down her cheeks. He brushed it away. Her name tag attached to the lanyard floated on the surface. He held it close to his face and peered at it in the darkness. Lori.She coughed. Good. Still alive. Then she vomited seawater. He leaned back and tugged at her. God damn security rules. If I had a knife… He peered through the inky blackness toward the aft galley then shook his head. He'd have to let her head submerge if he was going to search for anything sharp to slice through the thick material.Desperation clouded his thoughts. What should he do? He wouldn't let her die. He'd seen enough senseless deaths. He hoisted her as high out of the water as he could then snaked his arm around her and grabbed - Boob? Will have to remember to apologize later.

Another large wave crashed over Chad Gain’s head. Salt water stung his eyes and poured into his mouth. Bone-deep panic paralyzed him, but adrenaline swiftly took over. He kicked, broke the churning surface, and sucked in air.Complete blackness surrounded him. Storm clouds blocked out the stars and moon, and agonizing screams from the struggling victims rent the air.A gust of wind scattered thick, billowing smoke, and five feet away with the nose submerged, the white body of a 777 jetliner towered above Chad like a smooth mountain.Lightning flashed, illuminating the pale faces of passengers still inside the aircraft. Some leapt from the mangled exit, while others stared in frozen fear from windows.The terrifying moments as the plane lost control and fell from the sky were swamped by the horror of losing the one person who meant everything to him.“Christine!” Cold water closed over him again. Chad jerked his legs and his head emerged. Sputtering and shaking water from his eyes, he twirled, scanning the rolling water. Each story is themed around a place crash. In Dyer's story, we're introduced to Christine and Chad. Best friends since childhood, the two take a trip together when they can. Chad is a movie star and his life gets a little hectic. Of course, a plan crash changes their course. Now the two must fight for survival with a handful of others on an unknown area. There are obstacles in their way.

What I loved was how these two have loved each other secretly. Their feelings are admitted and also tested during this survival. Dyer weaves in some humor, action, sizzle, and much more in this novella. I'm used to her paranormal vampires, but Love Comes Crashing In shows that Brenda can write in multiple genres with ease.

I cant wait to read the rest of the stories in this set! I'll be updating my review as I work my way through the other stories. Great theme going on here and am exited to see how the other authors work their stories! A must have set.

Lori gagged on the bile rising in the back of her throat. She inhaled sharply to calm her stomach. If I'm going to die, it's not going to be with vomit all over my uniform.A distant whimper caught her ear. She lifted her head and opened her eyes. The lady in 37D rocked back and forth in her seat. Lori fought the urge to run to her. Her flight attendant training told her to stay seated. The Captain had called, "Brace for impact."Hang on, 37D. Just a bit longer. I understand how you feel. Isolated way back here in no-man's land at the back of the plane. No one's hand to hold for comfort. Alone. Scared. Me too.The gentleman in seat 36C stood then pulled open the overhead bin.Lori sat up taller. "Sir! The Captain said, brace for impact. Get back in your seat. Please."He turned his head, glancing at her. Lori blinked. She'd noticed him as she did her rounds of economy class. Sexy tousled hair. An unshaven chin. Gorgeous smile. Focus on your job. "Sir. Please. Sit. Down."He grabbed a bag out of the bin, slammed it shut and returned to his seat.Her heart raced as she shouted out the words she'd practiced in flight attendant school a hundred times and prayed she'd never have to use. "Head down. Brace. Brace." She hoped the sound of her voice could offer a moment's relief to the terrified passengers in economy. They were her passengers. If she could hold each of their hands, she would. "Head down. Brace. Brac—"The plane dropped and shuddered.Lori's professional calm shattered. The passengers under her care were going to die. She was going to die. The sensation of utter loneliness swamped her. She clenched her fists until her short nails dug into the palms of her hands. Pressure built in her ears. She tried all the tricks she knew, but the pressure wouldn't release. We're dropping too fast.Wonder what dying is going to feel like? Will it hurt? Mom. Trembling as her mother's smiling face popped into her mind, she swallowed back a wail of grief at the thought of her mother's pain when she heard the news of the plane crash.What's taking so long? Maybe— A ray of light shone down on the darkness of her despair. Maybe the captain was landing the plane. Captain Fraser was one of the best. He could save everyone.The plane jerked. Metal shrieked in complaint. Fear rang loud in the screams of the passengers. Lori's pulse pounded in her chest. Her breaths came in short pants. She swiped at the sweat on her upper lip. Her stomach knotted then boiled. It was close. The end. Whatever the end was. She squeezed her eyelids shuts and whispered, "Mom. I love you."
