This week on WIP it Up Wednesday Erika has to get the queens out - not an easy task. #wipitup

Continuation of Book With No Name -Switching back to Erika. She's the owner/manager of a drag queen club in Bangkok. Her bouncer, Puii, just told her another club has been hit and everyone was killed.
Fear gripped Erik as the words They killed everyone bounced around in her head. She had to protect her club. The queens, her patrons - herself. She glanced about the room. The place was packed. Too many people. They couldn't all fit in the safe room. She had to get everyone out of the club. And fast. Her bar staff and employees, while often as annoying as hell, were as close to her as her family. The patrons were her lifeblood. They bought the drinks which paid her salary. The queens were her sisters. She wouldn't let them be killed by a band of thugs. Swallowing down her fear, she stiffened her back and barked out orders to Puii.Herding chickens would have been easier. At last, the club was empty and shut down. The patrons had been easy to convince to leave. Puii pointed to the back exit, raised his gun in the air and shouted leave in four different languages. The divas proceeded to screech at a range higher than any opera singer and then ran in circles. Erik cussed at herself and Brian. Herself for letting Brian have tonight of all nights off and Brian for going on a date. He could have helped herd the girls out. He had a calm, rational head on his shoulders. What would he have done if he was here? The sensation of panic that had risen in her because of the chaos of the overly hysterical performers froze Erik's brain. She stared at a lone stiletto lying on the floor by the stage entrance. An idea popped into her head. She ran into the dressing room, grabbed four evening gowns then raced to the exit. "If you don't leave, I'll throw these into dumpster in the alley." The drag queens followed the gowns like a moths to a flame.Puii offered to stay. She thanked him then sent him home. Then Erik shut off all the club’s lights, including the outside sign. Maybe if the thugs thought the place was closed they wouldn't bother it. She checked her cellphone was in her pocket and locked herself in her office, relieved she'd agreed to it being made as a secure safe room. Her fingers trembled as she turned on her cellphone and remote set the club's alarm system. If anyone tried to break in the police would be alerted. She sure as hell paid enough in taxes to insure a quick response. She opened her closet, pulled out a blanket and pillow then reached for a locked box on the top shelf. After retrieving the key from the flower vase by the couch, she unlocked the box and pulled out a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .38. She placed it on her desk and reached into the back of the same drawer she'd gotten her bottle of Glenfiddich from. Pulling out a box of ammunition, she grabbed five bullets then loaded the gun and placed it next to her cellphone on the end table by the couch. She tossed the pillow at the end of the sofa, settled down, pulled the blanket over her shoulder and closed her eyes. This was her club. No one would take it without her putting up the best struggle she could.
Really hoping that book 2 will be done soon - so I can send this one to editor. There just might be a book 3. Shaking head and wondering how I got myself into this.

Happy Ground Hog Day and an excerpt that has nothing to do with groundhogs

My excerpt is the opening from my WIP - work in progress - that's just about ready to go off to my editor.
Warning – Sexual Content and Language
Droplets of blood seeped from Darien's wolf tattoo, mesmerizing him. They trickled over the inside of his bicep then splattered drop by drop against the bar floor.Dairen frowned. Why was the wolf bleeding? It was supposed to look sexy. Turn chicks on. Not bleed. He blinked as a thought formed. Maybe it wasn't the tattoo. Could he be bleeding? He didn't remember getting hurt. But that might be because he'd had too many vodka shots.Expensive gold infused vodka. An order, snapped out in Thai, ripped his focus away from the cost of the booze.Stumbling with the translation, his gut clenched. "Check everyone. Anybody alive. Kill them."A shrill female scream. A gun shot. Silence. That'd be one of the hookers. Damn. Hope it wasn't the one with the butterfly tattoo above her clit. She had a mouth on her than performed miracles. Dude! What the fuck! Must be the vodka talking. Stay focused. There are guys with guns out there. Darien stretched his neck and peered around the edge of the bar. In his line of vision, a male leg stuck out from under a table. Expensive looking shoe. Presumably Italian leather. Probably belonged to Nai Jâhng. Darien raised his eyebrows. Wow. Somebody had the balls to kill a Triad boss.He shifted his glance. A few feet to the left, lay a female arm with brilliant orange fingernails. He shivered at the remembrance of those nails grazing his balls. He focused on a tiny object a foot in front of him. Glass. Shards of it were scattered about. He frowned, trying to remember what happened. He'd walked behind the private club's bar to get another bottle of vodka when, one by one, bottles started exploding. And then he was on the floor looking at the blood dripping from his tattoo. He glanced at his wound. The bleeding had stopped.Okay, so he wasn't gonna bleed to death. Good. Now he just had to get his ass outta here. Past them. The guys with the guns. How the fuck could he do that?

Capri's Fate is getting hot on My Sexy Saturday #MySexySaturday #Saturday7 #MSS126

Welcome to the 126thweek of My Sexy Saturday.
This week’s theme: A Sexy Vampire
I don't have any vampire stories - so I'll go back to my Fate - Thall from Capri's Fate. He is the son of a Fate and a human. Capri is a business woman who went to a sex toy convention and came home with a horny, invisible Fate.
WARNING: SEXUAL CONTENT and LANGUAGE
Every sensation stopped. I think my heart did too. I didn't breathe. Time-stopping, scorching strokes on the smallest part of my body. My fingers dug into the pillows as I experienced the most mind-fucking sensation ever and released an intense scream of joy."Ohhhh!" "Again?" His voice was soft and tinted with humor."Yes!" It was more of a snarl than a polite response.I waited. The nipple clamp zapped me. I squealed. His petting dragged across my clitoris with molasses speed. My heart raced, my breaths were shallow pants as I arched my hips up and spread my legs as wide as I could. "Touch me again. Please."Total bitch in heat, and I didn't give a damn. The words didn't come out of my throat. They came from somewhere deep inside me.

What's a woman to do when a voice follows her home and makes mad, passionate love to her?
Corporate business woman, Capricious Gray, is dragged to a sex toy convention by her best friend. Once a shocking, mysterious disembodied voice helps her with her purchases, it follows her home. Passion ensues, leaving Capri torn between lust for her fantasy lover and the desperate need for reality in her life.
Thall, son of one of the Fates, harbors the irrepressible need to be with the woman he's desired from afar for years. In order to make her his, once and for all, he must help Capri get past her fears, including the fear of what he represents - a fantasy.
Can fantasy become a reality for these two lovers?

What People are saying about Capri's Fate
Not Your Average Romance
Capri's Fate, a supernatural erotic romance by Daryl Devore is not my usual cup of tea. I don't usually go for a supernatural element in erotic fiction BUT as I read this book I was pleasantly surprised. Capricious Gray attends an erotic toy convention with a friend and brings home more than she bargained for. Thall is the half-human, half-immortal Fate assigned to watch over the bold and audacious Capri. He's also the love of her life, or will be, if Fate will have it.
Capri's Fate is the second book I've read by Daryl Devore. I very much enjoyed A Kept Woman: A Billionaire's Story so I took a chance on this one. I'm so glad I did. By the way, at one point in the story, Capri was reading a novel on her Kindle, which turned out to be another by Daryl Devore, Black Dorn. I loved this clever book plug and immediately bought that one as well.
I recommend Capri's Fate. It's not your usual romantic read and I think you'll like it.

Brightest spotlight on new released The Fae Lord's Lady by Lisa Kumar #newrelease

The Fae Lord’s Lady
Natalie Danvers lives a picture-perfect life. She has a great boyfriend, a good job she loves, and friends aplenty. But to her, she feels as if she’s merely existing. Something indefinable is missing, which colors every aspect of her life.
When she tumbles head first through a dimensional tear—straight onto a fae lord’s lap—her ordinary life is shaken to the core. Handsome and mysterious, Lorh frustrates her even as he enthralls her. He insists she is stuck in the land of TirAnn for three weeks and only she can discover the reasons behind her appearance there.
Lorh and his siblings have been awaiting Natalie’s arrival for centuries. Now she’s in his arms, and his family's dearest desire is within reach. But as forgotten memories resurface and collide with reason, will Natalie find what she’s been missing? Or will old enemies destroy any chance of her being the fae lord’s lady?
Excerpt
"Where to start?" He steepled his fingers and gazed at her contemplatively. "Your people call us the fae or the Sidhe. We are much like our human kin but also much different.""How much different?" She hated the quavering in her voice."We live for a very long time."Both dreading and wanting to know the answer, she asked, "How much longer?""Unless it’s by our own hand, we cannot choose the time of our deaths any more than humans can, but our years far outlast those of your kind…by millennia."Her mind hit a mental barricade. "You’re joking, right?""No.""But —""Just accept my people live much longer than yours."She scowled. "But how’s that possible?""Our inherent magic, which allows us to do spells and charms, affects our physiology."She stared blankly at the book-lined wall, gathering her thoughts. So fae could do spells and other such things, and it increased their longevity? Though it shouldn’t be surprising — after all, she was in a mythical land of fairy-tale creatures — his new information blew a gasket in her mind, and she didn’t know what to do with it, except… "Given the difference in our lifespans, I don’t possibly see how I could stay here, even if I wanted to.""We can remedy that issue." He hesitated, discomfort flashing across his face. "If we join through marriage, I can complete a ceremony that will enable you to share my lifespan."Stunned disbelief poured over her, and before she could halt them, words exploded from her. "What! Are you crazy? Marriage! Marriage?" Inside, every alarm blared. Marriage? Whoa! Why would he want to marry her? Sure, he desired to have her here for some cockamamie reason that she couldn’t even begin to understand, but marriage?"Natalie," he said in a soothing voice, holding out a hand. "I know this sounds quite shocking, but once you get —"Lurching out of the chair, she eyed him like the insane man he was. "No, don’t even finish that sentence." Whirling around, she sprinted toward the exit, but before she could get in more than a few steps, he stood before her. She shuddered. How…how did he get around his desk so fast?Lorh placed his hands on her arms, his grip strong but not bruising. "I’m sorry, but I can’t let you run."His touch seared through the thin sleeves of her gown and seemed to brand her down to the bone. Panic seized her. This place, this male, they were driving her mad.Natalie yanked against his hold, wanting — no, needing — to be free. This was all too much. Everything pulled at her — her fright, her strange attraction to Lorh, his mysteriousness, and his latest declaration. She feared she’d explode into a thousand tiny pieces from it. Words bubbled out, and she didn’t even try to hide the desperation in them. "Please, let me go. Let me go home. If this is what you brought me here for, it’s not going to work."Remorse flashed in his eyes before a look of resolve replaced it. "I can’t allow you to go. If you listen to me, I’m sure we can come to an accord." "I’m not going to listen to any more crazy talk. You won’t get me to agree to…to that."

Pop a squat and tell me what happened - from Book With No Name on Wip It Up Wednesday #wipitup

Back to Darien - from Book With No Name - to catch you up - Darien was at the Black Dragon club when it was hit. He's the only one who got out alive. He called his brother to come rescue him.
Darien rubbed his face. "I just want to wake up from this nightmare. This is so stupid. Why would someone try to kill me?" He shifted in the passenger seat and watched the blur of the buildings as they passed by. "I just want to snap back to reality and I'm hoping I'm doing that hooker with the tattoo. Girl's got skills." He turned to his brother. "Why would anybody want to kill me?""You're starting to repeat yourself.""Yea, but—"His brother held up a hand to stop Darien's question then suggested he settle back, relax and let him drive. Exhaustion demanded Darien take his advice. He rested his head on the back of the seat and closed his eyes, until he felt his brother grip his shoulder and shake him. "Come on, dude. We're home."Once inside the apartment, his brother pointed to the bathroom. "Please shower. I'll get you some clothes."Darien glanced around. "Anybody else here?""No. But they should be home soon. And I sent Alonzo home.""Sorry." His brother shrugged. "Family first."Darien dragged his tired body to the shower. The hot water soothed him as it washed his stink away. He lathered up three times before deciding he was presentable. Tossing aside the shower curtain, he found a pair of black sweatpants and a red t-shirt resting on the sink. He dried off, dressed and joined his brother on the worn, dull brown couch in the underlit living room.A beer rested on the water stained end table. Darien snorted and held the bottle high. "An hour ago I was drinking gold infused vodka at fifty dollars a pop and now I'm drinking buck-fifty beer, Chang, which tastes like elephant piss. Bizarre night.""Pop a squat and tell me what happened? By the way, good to see you. It's been a while.""Don't I know it. And as to what happened, I don't really know." He swallowed a mouthful of beer and grimaced. "The tour finished a few days ago, so this was supposed to be the start of my vacation. Got a call. Party with Nai Jâhng at the Black Dragon. Sounded good. And safe."His brother snorted. "Yea, I'd say so. Being surrounded by a Triad leader and his guns should make you pretty safe.""Fuck yea, if not there then where? All I know is the bartender disappeared. He'd gone upstairs or out back or somewhere to get something. We needed another bottle. I went behind the bar to get one and then there was shouting and gunfire and shattering bottles of booze and I'm lying there looking at the cut on my— " He rubbed his right bicep. "I think a piece of flying glass nicked me. It's nothing. Then I hear one of them say, check everyone and if anyone's alive kill them. So I decide I gotta get out of there.""Did you see who they were?"Darien gulped several mouthfuls and nodded. "Didn't see any faces, but I caught a glimpse of a bleeding sun tattoo on one of the guys.""Daeng Arthit Triad. Bad. Did they see you?""Don't think so." He yawned. "Christ, I'm beat.""Adrenaline's wearing off."Darien chuckled. "You know me. Adrenaline junkie."His brother held out his hand. "Give me your hotel key and I'll get your stuff before the cops run all over the place."Darien held his breath while he dug through his smelly clothes, searching for his cellphone and wallet. He tossed the cellphone on the coffee table and opened his wallet. A loud crunch made him look up. "What the fuck?" He stared at his smashed phone."You can't use it. They'll find you." His brother placed a bookend back on a nearby shelf. "Now your watch. And before you ask, regular Joes don't own watches that James Bond wears." He held out his hand. Darien dropped his watch onto it. "Good. Next, gimme your credit cards.""What? Fuck no.""You know the Triads got informants inside the police station. Once you use the card, they'll know within minutes where you are. Hand 'em over.""No."His brother shrugged. "You'll be asleep soon enough. I'll just get them then."

Excerpt:‘But who’s going to do our lunch if Mum’s staying in bed?’ asks Max.‘If people need things putting in boxes, they’ll have to find them and put them in themselves for once,’ says Jake through gritted teeth, as he tries to make toast, unload the dishwasher, find clean socks for Hattie’s netball match and avoid the small pile of cat-sick by the table leg. He sighs and mops up the squelchy mess on the floor before Theo spreads it around the kitchen with her big boots. It’s only the third day of term so the foolproof system for school mornings hasn’t kicked in yet. Even the two kittens look offended, meowing around Theo’s feet as she rifles through her schoolbag for her lost homework. Jake feels as if he’s dropped into some alien, much less relaxing world. His early morning routine usually involves sitting at the kitchen table drinking strong coffee and keeping some kind of order while Molly dashes around serving up milky tea, bacon sandwiches, and muesli. As she cling-films sandwiches, throws yogurts and chocolate biscuits into plastic bags and sorts out last-minute crises, she talks him through the day ahead. She likes him to know what’s going on. Theo still hasn’t found her homework. Jake and Molly’s eldest daughter is reasonably chilled, as a rule, but today she’s in a filthy mood. Her form tutor has given a final warning that if anyone else comes to school with purple streaks in their hair, he’ll make them wear his grey woolly hat to lessons. Theo’s managed to cover the offending bit of her fringe with black poster paint, having run out of dye, but she knows if it rains things could go badly wrong. Jake can hear Theo muttering as she abandons the homework search and opens a tin of food for the yowling kittens, gashing her finger in the process, and bleeding all over Sam’s newly-made tuna sandwiches. She spits out all the rudest words she knows, and so does Sam, which makes Hattie run round the table screaming, ‘He said the “F” word, Dad, and she said “bugger”.’ Jake’s patience, never his strong point, runs out. ‘At your age,’ he thunders, ‘me and my little brother did all the chores for our mum before breakfast, went to school without moaning, and then came back and did our paper rounds. We weren’t spoiled like you lot – you’re all an absolute disgrace.’Theo pulls herself up to her full five feet four inches. She hasn’t been allowed to have a paper round due to Molly’s fear of possible rapists and muggers on the loose. It’s a peaceful village normally, but there’s a first for everything.

Author Bio:Celia J Anderson loves cake, champagne and her family, although not in that order. Moondancing is the first book she ever completed but it needed a couple of years relaxing in the cupboard before it was ready to be revamped to follow Sweet Proposal, Little Boxes and Living the Dream out into the world. One eighth of the Romaniacs, to be found at https://theromaniacgroup.wordpress.com, Celia regularly blogs with this sparkling group of writers who support each other through the journey to publishing and beyond. Her ultimate aims are to spend less time on Facebook, have a few less chins and to walk five miles a day - she feels the three may be connected...http://celiajanderson.co.uk https://www.facebook.com/CeliaJAndersonAuthorhttp://www.twitter.com/celiaanderson1
