Welcome to the 128thweek of My Sexy Saturday.
This week’s theme: My Sexy Valentine

I don't have a Valentine themed story - but to me Valentines means chocolate - and I do have a scene involving whipped cream and melted chocolate.



The room was lit with a dozen flickering candles. Next to the small table was a dining cart. On it was a bowl of whipped cream, a pot of chocolate being kept warm by a smaller burner and a dish of strawberries. He kicked off his shoes and carried her to the bedroom. She flipped off her sandals a moment before her feet touched the carpet. Red glanced at the candles and dessert cart and smiled at Will. He shrugged his shoulders and said,  "Made a wish on a star."

It is definitely an adults only version, but a great one at that! I loved that there was a bit of mystery added in and even though the names gave a bit away as to who was who, you still weren't sure who Red would finally have in her bed. The fact that this took place on a seniors cruise was an added touch I really enjoyed. And the roll play at the end of the book was just so fitting!! I would definitely recommend this title and I will be reading more from this author.

Sexy Red Hood on the Trans Canada Romance Writers Valentines Blog Tour #TransCRW

Welcome to my first venture into blog hopping with the fabulous authors at Trans Canada Romance Writers.
To start off – I'm a chocoholic to the point of having studied chocolate. I have more cookbooks on chocolate than anything else.
So it's no wonder that Valentine's Day means chocolate in my house. There used to be a fabulous factory in a little town called Smith Falls, Ontario – a Hersey factory. duckduckgo.com
Why was Hersey there? A couple of reasons. Number 1 – Milton Hersey was a savvy business man and he noticed that Canadians didn't eat a lot of his chocolate. Actually – we labelled it "sour". The reasons for that would take a lot of space, so, maybe I'll leave that for another day.
Second reason – Smith Falls is a small rural town, with good agriculture around it (dairy), a waterway and a railroad (both needed to gets supplies in and product out.)
But my story begins when my daughter was about 5 or 6. In late January, we drove to this Nirvana called by the locals – The Chocolate Factory - (1 ½ hr drive one way). Visitors could tour the chocolate making area in a walk around observation area. I always got stalled by massive vats of melted chocolate. I often fantasized about diving in a going for a swim.
The walkway took visitors past where the ingredients went into a magical machine at one end and Hersey's Bars or Reese's Peanut Butter Cups came out the other end. Then on to the fascinating robotic chocolate bar wrapper and packer.
But it was at the end of the tour which was why everyone was there. Cheap chocolate. There were massive containers of seconds – imperfect chocolate bars. Then there were rows upon rows of every kind of candy or chocolate Hersey sold.
And when you finished stuffing your basket and headed to the cash – they handed out FREE samples.
We purchased special chocolate valentine gifts. My daughter giving me one to buy, in secret, for her dad. Then doing the same thing with her father for me.  We'd both hid special gifts in our baskets for her.
One Valentine's Day everyone gave their gifts and we pigged out on chocolate.
A year later, one evening in late January, at the dinner table, my daughter looks up and in a sweet, innocent, but slightly concerned child's voice says, "We are going to the Chocolate Factory soon, right?"
It remained a family tradition until, sadly, corporate headquarters moved the factory.

Still stuck on title for finished book - le sigh WIP It Up Wednesday #wipitup #amwriting

YUMMYIt's ok if you don't get the meaning of the picture- one of you who visits will :-)

So - I'm happy estactic to announce Book with No Name 2 is written and I've started book 3.  Book 2 and 3 have titles - but book 1 doesn't. I've never be more stymied on a title than for this book.

If anybody has a title they aren't using......


As to today's post - we are back to Darien. He's escaped from a hit on a club and rescued by his brother.

"I never believed Brian when he told us who his brother is. I can't believe you're here.""In my bed." Sandee grinned.Darien pushed to sit up. Then the hangover hit. His stomach flipped and a nuclear bomb exploded inside his head. "Oh fuck.""Yes. Please." Sandee's grin broadened as he waggled his eyebrows.The other man held out a tall glass. "Brian said you'd probably need this."Darien took the offered glass, peered in and sniffed. "His hangover cure? Well, it'll either kill me or cure me. They tried to kill me last night and that didn't work, so what have I got to lose." He swallowed a mouthful and gagged."Drinky. Drinky." Sandee waved his hand.Darien inhaled a deep breath and chugged the final mouthfuls. He placed the glass on the night table and tossed back the sheets, forgetting he was naked and ogled by three gay men. One of whom was obviously excited at his naked presence. Darien pointed at his sweat pants resting on the floor. "Somebody hand me those, please. 'Cause with the hard-on he's got going there, 'I'm not bending over to pick'em up."Sandee laughed and tossed him his sweats. "We'll let you get dressed. Lennie's making breakfast."The man who handed him the hangover cure smiled. "Hope you like French toast and bacon."Darien's stomach rumbled. "Love some. Kinda hungry. I'll be right out."After getting dressed and eating breakfast, Darien settled back in his chair and sighed."Feeling better this morning?" His brother grinned.Darien nodded. "Yea. Thanks. I so owe you.""Hell yes, you do. First time Alonzo and I get the same night off in months and you blow in bloody as hell, trying to escape from a Triad." He pointed to a pile of luggage in the corner. "Got your stuff. Niran's such a cutie. I was hoping he was working last night. He helped me sneak into the Sian and get everything out of your room without anyone noticing. So now we just have to figure out how to hide you.""Blond."

The lady is acting a tad bit odd, to put it nicely. After all these years, she finally wants to step up and be a parental figure? Heck no! Emmy’s definitely not copacetic with that idea.

But with the bad, there’s got to be some good out there for her somewhere, right?

Add in the wolves, witches, drama, and lots of kisses and you get Emmy the Extraordinaire, the girl with strawberry–colored hair, and a chip on her shoulder. She’s finally on her way to finding out what her life and her future both have in store for her, even if the road to getting there is nowhere near as easy as she hoped it would be. But Emmy is tough, and more than ready to take on life with her bare hands.

It’s just too bad she’s madly, desperately, insanely in love with a boy who insists on making her life both a miserable hell and utter perfection at the same time.

From When Black Women Fall - The Education of a Black Heroine by Piper Huguley

The Education of a Black Heroine by Piper HuguleyWhen The Preacher’s Promise was first put forward to the public in the quarterfinal phase of the final Amazon Breakthrough Contest, some people began to question the history of my story in their reviews. They had never known of the possibility of an educated Black woman who traveled on her own to the southern states to teach. But I knew that this ignorance developed out of the lies that history tells us. We hear a lot about the brave white Christians who went to the southern states right after the Civil War, but we hear nothing of the Black people who went to help. This is one of the reasons why I wrote The Preacher’s Promise, so that the historical lie of omission could be exposed.  My heroine, Amanda Stewart, was based on the real-life exploits of two Black women, Mary Patterson and Mary Peake.Mary Jane Patterson is the first black woman who is credited with having earned a B.A. degree from Oberlin College, one of a handful of schools before the Civil War who were willing to give Black people a chance at higher education. She graduated from Oberlin in 1862. A historian of Oberlin College, Robert Fletcher, says that she taught school in Philadelphia, and later became a principal of a preparatory high school for Black students in Washington.My heroine, Amanda, arrives in Milford, Georgia after the Civil War, just after her graduation in 1866 from Oberlin.  Some real-life African American teachers were willing to take their lives and liberty into their own hands to teach the stillenslaved populations how to read and write beforethe war ended. One of these brave people was Mary Peake.Born of a free mother and an Englishman, Peake started a school in her own home state of Virginia on the grounds of what is now Hampton University.  She started the school in 1861 after her own home had been burned by Confederate forces.  Finding herself displaced, she taught the enslaved people who had gathered at Fort Monroe.  She had taught out of her home for years and now brought those skills to this new endeavor with purpose. The population of the school went from six to fifty within a matter of days.  Remarkably, Peake was also working as a married woman, having married Thomas Peake, one of the formerly enslaved.Unfortunately, the next year, Peake caught tuberculosis and died.  Her endeavor may not have lasted long, but Peake’s school planted the seed of an idea that spread and motivated many others to leave the comfort of their lives and homes to help the enslaved.  So the provenance for an Amanda Stewart is certainly there. And the American Missionary Society, who built up several schools for the enslaved in the South, documented many more men and women of color who came south to each the recently enslaved. Novels are written about the uncommon and the exceptional. We may not know these Marys by name, but they were certainly exceptional. Kobo  What people are saying about Sexy Red Hood5 stars - An excellent retelling!This is quite a different retelling of the classic Little Red Riding Hood that we are all accustom to. It is definitely an adults only version, but a great one at that! I loved that there was a bit of mystery added in and even though the names gave a bit away as to who was who, you still weren't sure who Red would finally have in her bed. The fact that this took place on a seniors cruise was an added touch I really enjoyed. And the roll play at the end of the book was just so fitting!! I would definitely recommend this title and I will be reading more from this author.

Thirteen sentences from - Book with No Name  my latest - that's just the working title. Erika Bailey is the owner/manager of a drag queen club in Bangkok. Her bouncer, Puii, just told her another club has been hit and everyone was killed.



Fear gripped Erik as the words They killed everyone bounced around in her head. She had to protect her club. The queens, her patrons - herself. She glanced about the room. The place was packed. Too many people. They couldn't all fit in the safe room. She had to get everyone out of the club. And fast. Her bar staff and employees, while often as annoying as hell, were as close to her as her family. The patrons were her lifeblood. They bought the drinks which paid her salary. The queens were her sisters and she wouldn't let them be killed by a band of thugs.
Really hoping that book 2 will be done soon - so I can send this one to editor.  There just might be a book 3. Shaking head and wondering how I got myself into this.
