Mysti Parker's Romantic Comedy - The Roche Hotel #romance #comedy

THE ROCHE HOTEL SERIESby Mysti ParkerGenre: Romantic Comedy

After her husband ditches her for a blonde actress wannabe, Jane Seymour needs a job that pays the rent. The struggling Roche Hotel needs a miracle. With the former owner’s wife butting her nose into the renovations and new owners who are in way over their heads, Jane may be the answer to their prayers. Sure, she can handle The Roche Hotel’s quirky staff. But, can this skittish divorcee keep it all together when handsome Henry the Donut Guy makes his first delivery? This collection of serial fiction stories is a Tudorific romantic comedy that will leave you laughing out loud and hungry for more.

By 3:00 AM, I finally learn enough Sasquatch language from Jerry to muddle through the audits until all the figures add up. He wanders off somewhere to do whatever it is he does. I dust things that don’t need dusting and clean the leaves on the silk plants in the lobby until 5:00 AM, when Jerry unlocks the front doors. I go back to sit at the office desk with a cup of coffee, resting my head in one hand. Surely someone would soon wake up to check out or ask for toothpaste or even a stick of gum for all I care.

My eyelids feel so heavy...

“Ahem.”

I’m startled awake and bump my coffee with my elbow. A brown pool of cold Folgers and congealed half-n-half flows across the audit sheets. “Crap.”

The man at the front desk laughs. “Sorry to startle you.”

“It’s fine,” I say, not bothering to look at him because I’m searching for paper towels instead. Finding none, I grab my sweater from the back of the chair and blot the papers.

“Need some tissues?” he asks.

“No, I’m fine.” Embarrassed for being such a klutz in front of a guest, I keep my head down and drag my sleepy self to the front desk. Finally, I look up and am met with a stunningly handsome smile. “Oh, how can I help you?”

“Where’s Jerry?” He holds up a small paper bag. There’s a stack of white boxes beside him.

“I don’t know. Would you like me to page him?”

“No need. I’ll just leave these here. Custard-filled. He loves those.”

I notice his shirt, embroidered with Hermann’s Bakery in a simple script font on the right pocket. His hair is a dusty brown and has that trendy bed-head look which I usually consider lazy, but on him, it’s rather adorable. He’s clean-shaven and reasonably tall.

His eyes crinkle when he smiles again. “I’m Henry. You new here?”

“Yes, it’s my first night.” I point to the temporary name tag with my name written in black sharpie. “I’m Jane.”

“Nice to meet you. They call me the ‘Donut Guy’.”

He offers his hand, and I take it. His grip is warm and strong, and jump-starts a few sleepy neurons. Henry. And Jane Seymour. The third wife of Henry VIII, as legend says, was reportedly the love of his life. Why does my mind have to venture there, of all places? I’m not ready to heal my broken heart over Nick with Henry the Donut Guy, no matter how Tudorific our names are.

I let go of his hand and take the paper bag. “I’ll be sure to give these to Jerry.”

“Would you like one?”

“I probably shouldn’t…” My stomach rumbles in disagreement.

“They’re complimentary. The hotel orders more than enough, trust me.”

“Oh, then I’ll take a donut with chocolate icing if you have one.”

“Sure do.”

He opens one of the boxes and holds it within my reach. I pick up a donut and take a bite. Still warm and melt-in-your-mouth good.

“Mmm, this is delicious.”

Henry closes the box and takes a tissue from the Kleenex dispenser beside the wall. Why hadn’t I noticed those before I sacrificed my poor sweater? He reaches across the front desk and wipes the corner of my mouth. Warmth crawls up my cheeks.

“You had a little icing there,” he says with that knee-weakening smile.

Jane Seymour and the quirky staff of The Roche Hotel are back for another hilarious season of this Tudorific romantic comedy. Thanks to Jane’s no-nonsense practicality, the struggling hotel is on its way to becoming a thriving business. Henry the Donut Guy has won her over with his delicious pastries and irresistible charm. Even her ailing mother has found a new love. Life is sweet until a new assistant manager is hired…who just happens to be Jane’s meddling, sleazeball of an ex-husband. How will Jane keep the peace and prevent the hotel from going under without losing her mind?

When there’s a chance of a reptile fugitive lurking somewhere in your vicinity, it makes the night a little tense, to say the least. The snake’s cage is in the office, with a nameplate that reads: Precious. Right. I’ve never thought of any reptile as precious, no matter how charming their personality.

All is quiet until about 11: 30 PM. I’m checking in a late arrival when Jerry skulks through the lobby like a coveralled sasquatch on the prowl. He’s holding the cage in one hand and a broom in the other.

The guest is a young man with blond dreadlocks and a t-shirt with Hemptosis embroidered on the front pocket. “Dude,” he whispers to me while watching Jerry disappear down the hall, “what’s going on?”

“A poodle,” I say. “Someone lost a poodle.”

Hemp Boy chuckles. “Awesome. Must be some tripped out poodle. A little hashish might calm him down.” He pats his jeans pocket and winks.

“I…don’t think that’ll be necessary. Here’s your key.”

“Thanks, man.”

I don’t know if he’s really mistaken me for a guy or if he’s just stoned, so I smile sweetly and add, “This is a non-smoking facility, by the way. Have a great night.”

“Yeah, you too. If you need any hemp accessories, we got good stuff, man. Shirts, shoes, purses, you name it.” He tosses a business card on the front desk and swaggers off, but stops before reaching the hall and looks at the ceiling. “There’s something banging around up there.” He turns to me and whispers, “Maybe it’s the poodle. Want me to get him?”

“No, no, enjoy your night.” I wait for him to shrug and disappear down the hall. Then, I frantically page Jerry:Snake, here, ceiling.

Two minutes later, Jerry appears, broom in one hand and ladder in the other. He stands frozen for a second, one ear turned upward, and then sets up the ladder in the breakfast area. He climbs up and removes a ceiling tile.

“Did you find it?” God, I hope he’s found it.

He holds up a hand to shush me. “I’m lookin’.” His furry head disappears into the ceiling.

Mrs. Roche shuffles through the lobby in her robe and slippers. She removes a hand towel from her head and wraps it around the naked David statue like he’s just stepped from the shower.

I glance at Jerry. “Um, Mrs. Roche, could I get you something?”

“It’s just my rheumatism. No need to fuss over me. A cup of tea usually helps.” She opens a drawer. “Now where are those tea bags?”

Jerry’s in up to his waist now. A few bangs and bumps echo from the ceiling.

“I can get it for you,” I say, emerging from behind the front desk in the hopes of ushering her out. “I’ll even bring it to your room.”

“Nonsense. I’m not helpless.”

My cell phone buzzes in my pocket. I pull it out and see yet another text from Nick: I’m back in town. Call me.

No, no, no, this cannot be happening. I’ll have to call and tell him to go rot in an unnaturally warm place. If worse comes to worst, I’ll threaten to get a restraining order. Not that I’m frightened of him—he’s too cowardly and conniving to be violent. It’s just the principle of the thing. I turn back toward the front desk and click on his number; he answers in two rings.

“Hey babe.”

“Don’t babe me. Why are you calling, and what do you mean you’re back in town?”

“I’m at the airport. Can you pick me up?”

“What?!” I turn back around to see if Jerry’s made any progress with the snake hunting.

“Okay, yeah, never mind. I’ll get a cab. Just wanted to tell you-”

“Oh dear lord. Hold please.” A scaly head attached to a long, spotted body hangs down by Mrs. Roche’s ear. She’s still rummaging through the drawer, oblivious to her reptilian neighbor. Jerry hurries down the ladder.

“Jane? Babe?”

“Can’t talk now. Stop calling, and leave me alone.” I click END and slide the phone in my pocket. “Mrs. Roche, don’t move.”

Jane Seymour and the quirky staff of the Roche Hotel have returned for ten new short episodes in a hilarious third season of this Tudorific romantic comedy. Jane's ex-husband and assistant manager, Nick, failed in his attempt to win her back. Now his girlfriend Brandy is back in town with a big surprise that he's not at all prepared to handle. To make things worse, the hotel is struggling (again) and needs a boost in business to keep things afloat while a black sheep from Jane's family arrives to throw a wrench in the whole thing. All Jane wants is a steady paycheck and time to cultivate her love for Henry the Donut Guy, but now she's got to play relationship counselor to her ex and miracle worker for the hotel (again). Can Jane juggle all these challenges while keeping her employers and her boyfriend happy?

It’s just a few minutes past 6:00. The front door chimes, and in walks Carol. Her bracelets jingle as she sprays Aqua Net all over her permed hair and enters the office in a perfumed cloud of aerosol.

“What are you doing here?” I ask.

“Relieving you, hun.”

“You don’t need to do that. We’re full up, but with Jerry and a housekeeper on call, it’s nothing I can’t manage.”

“I know you can manage, but I’m here to relieve you on strict orders.”

“From whom?”

“Your cutie-patootie. He wants you over at his house at 6:30 sharp.” Carol winks and pops a piece of Wrigley’s in her mouth. Her hoop earrings sway as she chomps happily.

“But, but…” My brain is stuck in a loop of buts. Henry usually eats dinner with me at the hotel when I’m working, but has never asked me to take a day off or leave early. Maybe he’s sick, but he was fine when he left for work this morning. Susan said he was here earlier, but he never said anything to me or stopped by the front desk.

Carol reaches down, grabs my purse, and puts it in my arms. “Now shoo – don’t keep the Donut Guy waiting.”

“Okay.” I clock out, going into autopilot as I put on my coat and head to my car. Logical Me is nowhere to be found, so my rattled brain drifts a few years back to the night Nick took me out to dinner, only to tell me he wanted a divorce because he was leaving with Brandy for California. My trembling hands can barely hold the key fob as I unlock the car and get in. Twenty minutes later with a headache and churning stomach, I arrive at Henry’s house. His renovations to his grandfather’s former residence are almost done. The place looks brand new with freshly painted siding and shutters. But what if he doesn’t want me to be part of it anymore?

I raise my hand to knock on the door when Henry opens it and engulfs me in a tight, warm hug. “So glad you could get off early. I take it Carol came through for me.”

He pulls me inside and helps me out of my coat. Then he hangs it and my purse on the coat rack.

“Yeah, but why did you have her do that? Is everything okay?” Delicious aromas are coming from the kitchen. My legs wobble. My voice becomes shrill with rising hysteria. “Why were you at the hotel today? Susan saw you. You didn’t talk to me.”

He grins and heads toward the kitchen where he takes a couple of wine glasses from the rack over the island. “You like Chardonnay, right?”

I follow, leaning against the counter for support. “Yeah, but…what’s this all this about?”

He’s got the table set with the good china, complete with forks, knives, and spoons. Even cloth napkins. Soft music plays from his stereo in the living room. It’s Kenny G. Everyone knows that Kenny G isn’t breakup music. It’s romantic night music. What if he’s not breaking up with me? What if, instead, he’s getting ready to propose? It’s suddenly hard to breathe. I may need a paper bag because I don’t know what’s worse – being faced with another breakup or another marriage.

Henry finishes pouring and looks up with a concerned frown. He comes around to me and takes both my hands in his, kissing my knuckles. “Relax, Jane. It’s not what you think.”

“It’s not?”

“Well, I never can be exactly sure about what’s going on in that beautiful mind of yours, but I know you’re not ready for marriage.”

Crazed gorilla mode kicks in. Crap, it must be a breakup. Kenny G’s a liar!

You do know we're making love on the side of a volcano - Brace for Impact on My Sexy Saturday #MSS161 #erotic #romance

Welcome to the 161st week of My Sexy Saturday. This week’s theme: My Sexy Soul Mate

From my erotic contemporary crash romance - Brace for Impact

Scene set -Paix and Guy get intimate and Mother Nature butts in.

Warning - Sexual Content

"Can't." He puffed trying to keep in control. "No protection.""Please, Guy. Harder. On edge. Don't care. Please." She squeezed and squirmed against him. His restraint broke. He drove his hips upward, slamming into her. The cabin walls trembled with each thrust. "Come on, Paix. Let it all go. Now. Ah!"Pressure built then released with a powerful shockwave, which tore through him. The building groaned and shook. His knees threatened to buckle. Wrapping an arm around her waist, he lifted her then slipped out. Cautiously moving around the unfamiliar and dark cabin, he made his way to the small bed he'd noticed during one of the flashes of lightning. He lowered her onto it then snuggled against her.She slipped her hand back and cupped his balls. He closed his eyes and shuddered. "I need to rest." She slid a finger back and forth. His gut clenched. "Message received, but I'm beat out.""Just letting you know that was only the first course." She giggled. "And I know it's a cliché, but I think the earth really did move. I think we had an earthquake.""You do know we're making love on the side of a volcano."

Shining Spotlight on WHAT SHE NEEDS Castle Wolves Series Book 2 by Melissa Kendall #paranormal #erotic #romance

WHAT SHE NEEDSCastle Wolves Series Book 2

by Melissa Kendall
Genre: Paranormal Erotic Romance
Cover Designer: Tibbs Design

Elizabeth Summers is sick of being the baby sister of Garth the pack alpha. Her brother with the help of his best friends has taken it upon himself to scare off every guy who has ever shown any interest in her. With a little nudge from her sister-in-law, she decides to seek Madame Eve’s help to give her one night of pure pleasure.

Ernest (Brute) Chalmers is Castle Wolves’ pack enforcer and best friend of Garth. make his move, he might miss out on his chance at love Out of respect for his friend, he has kept his feelings for Garth’s sister a secret. But when he over hears Lizzie talking about signing up for a 1Night Stand, he decides if he doesn’t, he might miss out on his chance at love.

Can Brute prove he has what it takes to meet Lizzie’s needs? Or will she send him packing for good?

Brute stared at the door and took a couple of deep breaths. Lizzie was not going to be pleased when he entered, but he'd practiced his speech over and over to get her to give him a chance.

Every night since he'd overheard Lizzie talking about signing up for a 1Night Stand, Brute had imagined this moment. He put his hand on the door handle and turned. The door opened to a room shrouded in darkness. Even with his shifter enhanced eyesight, he could barely see a thing. He could smell her though, her scent enticing as always.

"Remove every stitch of clothing and get on your knees." Lizzie's voice deep and sultry echoed around the room. He looked to the right where her voice came from, but still couldn’t make out any discernible shapes.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, sub. Naked and on your knees. You have two minutes and I will not ask again."

What the fuck! Did she just say sub?

Brute had no idea what he'd walked into, but her tone of voice indicated he wasn't to argue. Without further thought, he stripped until naked and dropped to his knees.

"Now what?" he asked.

"Now you wait, you insolent pup. Eyes to the floor, in silence until I am ready." Brute did as she demanded, a million different scenarios running through his mind as to what could come next.

He'd seen something like this once on a porn network. The movie had been called Mistress something, but it had been about woman who liked having men service her. The survey Madame Eve had required him to fill about his sexual preferences made a lot more sense now. What he didn't understand was why Lizzie wanted this for her 1Night Stand.

The click of heels on the wood flooring echoed in the room and it was obvious she was coming his way. She stopped right in front of him. Her shoes just in his line of vision. Her gaze was on him. He could feel it like a physical caress and it had him wondering how long it would take before she figured out who he was. It also had his cock at full alert. He liked having her admire him, had wanted it for so long.

"Well, well, Madame Eve, did good." Something ran up his left arm and across his chest. As it passed his line of vision, he figured out it was a riding crop. It then continued down his right arm ending with a quick flick on the tip of his cock. "Definitely a wonderful specimen. It still remains though to see just how good you are at serving your mistress. On your feet."

Brute kept his eyes on the floor knowing the moment she caught sight of his face whatever was happening would stop. And as much as he was out of his comfort zone, he didn't want to stop.

"Hmm, someone at least has some manners." Slowly, she moved around him. Any second now she was going to catch sight of his tattoo. "What the fuck!" Yeah, he hated being right. "Ernest Alexander Chalmers turn around and face me right the fuck now."

Brute cringed at the use of his full name. No one ever called him Ernest unless he was in trouble. He turned around as she asked. He expected to see fury in her features, but she just looked defeated.

"What are you doing here?"

He mulled over whether to tell her the truth or lie but he’d come this far no point in adding any more lies to the pile. "I'm your 1Night Stand."

"No you're not. Why would Madame Eve set me up with you?"

Brute took a couple of deep breaths before answering. "Because I asked her to."

That’s this Friday.”“Well then it must be from lover boy. He’s the only one you know who could afford to fly you first class.”She picked up the folded piece of paper. After glancing at the bottom, she said, “It's a letter. From Derek.”

Spotlight on Romantic Suspense - Family Illusions by Bess George #romance #suspense

FAMILY ILLUSIONSby Bess GeorgeCover Desginer:The Killion GroupGenre: Romantic Suspense

Her life was a lie.

Charlie Gomez always fantasized about a better life or at least a job that didn’t involve scrubbing other people’s toilets. The death of her mother reveals a past that’s based on lies and an unexpected inheritance gives her the opportunity to become a private investigator—the perfect chance to learn a skill for the future while she figures out the past. There’s only one negative in this new gig and that’s her antagonistic sexy new boss.

He has nothing left but a company on the brink of bankruptcy.

Jaxon Roberts was a street orphan who survived and thrived thanks to the kindness of a generous benefactor. But when his adopted father passes away, he’s left with the daunting task of saving McKenzie Investigations and a major surprise: his father left a biological heir, and she’s the key to his company’s survival.

As tension and rivalry give way to love, dark shadows of the past put their future—and their lives—in grave danger. When Charlie disappears, Jaxon is faced with a choice…walk away and preserve the world he knows, or fight for a future with the one woman who can truly teach him what family is all about.

A woman’s voice sounded to the left of her hidden nook. “What do you mean you’re running late? I need to get this stuff out of here now while there’s no one here. Okay, it’ll be in the usual spot.”

Intrigued by the conversation, Charlie remained motionless as the sound of shoes clicked away toward a back door that led to an alley. The door closed with a bang and she crept forward. The Sahara Desert held more moisture than her mouth at the moment. Where the heck was Tony? If she took the time to go find him, she might lose the chance to see if this was the thieving employee.

One foot eased forward and then Charlie rocked back on her heels in doubt. This is your job. Do it. She scurried over to ease the back door open a crack. There was no sign of anyone so she slipped through the opening. A movement to the right caused her to pull back into the recessed door frame. From where she hid, all she saw was a white trash bag as it sailed into the dumpster. Heart pounding, she ducked inside and busied herself at the dishwasher in case the woman returned the same way.

The kitchen door slammed back against the wall when someone entered. Footsteps came closer and then stopped directly behind where she worked to empty a rack full of clean glasses. After a moment, the woman continued on into the dining area.

Charlie hurried back outside and over to the trash dumpster. Even with her height, she couldn’t see into the dark depths. Looking around, she spotted an old plastic crate on the ground. She pulled it over and gingerly stepped up. The stench of rotting meat and soured cheeses made her eyes water and with one hand holding her nose, she leaned in as far as possible.

A lone pale lump glowed brightly in the left back corner among the other dark green mounds. She stretched one arm out as far as it would go. Almost. She stood on her tiptoes to gain another few inches. Her thrust forward caused the crate to slip from under her feet. A precarious balance on the metal rim of the dumpster, she struggled to keep from sliding down into the disgusting mess.

More in than out, gravity worked against her, and she landed face first in the soft piles. Disoriented, her surprise turned to horror as the more she moved, the more she sank. Had something alive brushed her leg?

Charlie was still shrieking when Tony’s surprised face appeared over the side. Between his laughter and her flopping about, it took them several attempts to get her out of the large container. While Tony retrieved the bag, she stared down at her clothes and sighed. She needed to go back and reread the chapter on dumpster diving. The book made it sound so easy.

Out Now! - In The Flesh: Book 1 of The Medusa Consortium by K.D. Grace #erotic

Imaginary Lovers
I suspect every young girl and probably most boys too have had imaginary lovers. Okay, if I’m being honest, as a writer of romance and erotica, I have them all the time. J Those imaginary lovers are the lovers we long for when there isn’t anyone else, when we’re on our own and yearn to be the center of attention of the best, most amazing, hottest man ever, or when our fantasies turn dark and dangerous and we need a little bit of scary-hot help. And let’s face it they certainly have their place in our self-love life, don’t they? They are our images of perfection, something that doesn’t exist in the real world. Though In The Flesh has a complicated origin, a part of its roots and, certainly a part of what drives the story is an imaginary lover. But this imaginary lover is not the book boyfriend of your dreams. He’s not the one all your friends will be jealous of. Don’t get me wrong though, this imaginary lover is strong, powerful, outrageously sexy and he’s completely focused on you. What more could a girl ask for, right?
But what if this insatiable glorious lover, who blows your mind with sex beyond your wildest dreams, isn’t imaginary at all? Oh, I’m not talking Cinderella and Prince Charming or Christian Grey and Anna Steele. Oh no! This lover is way beyond Charming or Grey. In reality, this lover is the most terrifying being you’ve ever met. And what if, in spite of even that, you still can’t resist him?
When I first started writing the story of the Chapel House Guardian, it really was just a short story, an idea about the perfect imaginary lover gone horribly wrong. But after three different incarnations, shared in two different writing groups, I realized there was way more to this Guardian and to those he seduced than what could be contained in one short story. In fact, I soon discovered it would take something more than a human to thwart the seduction of the Guardian. 94k words and In The Flesh later, I discovered that even then, Susan and Michael, and the Guardian’ strange story wasn’t finished. I’m now writing the sequel, Blind- Sided . Both books are a part of something even bigger still, the Medusa’s Consortium Series. You’ll be hearing more about that later. In the meantime, enjoy the excerpt and don’t forget to comment for a chance to win the giveaway.
Giveaway: To promote the release of In The Flesh, I’m giving away a $30/£20 Amazon gift voucher. Check out the Rafflecopter for your chances to win!

In The Flesh Blurb:When Susan Innes comes to visit her friend, Annie Rivers, in Chapel House, the deconsecrated church that Annie is renovating into a home, she discovers her outgoing friend changed, reclusive, secretive, and completely enthralled by a mysterious lover, whose presence is always felt, but never seen, a lover whom she claims is god. As her holiday turns into a nightmare, Susan must come to grips with the fact that her friend’s lover is neither imaginary nor is he human, and even worse, he’s turned his wandering eye on Susan, and he won’t be denied his prize. If Susan is to fight an inhuman stalker intent on having her as his own, she’ll need a little inhuman help.
EXCERPT - In The Flesh: Susan’s Secret Writings:I wasn’t alone in the dark. I knew that the first time I entered the crypt at Chapel House. I could feel a presence there, almost as though someone stood just behind me, about to reach out and touch me. The shiver over my skin was not so much from fear, though certainly there was an element of fear, as it was from longing, bone-deep longing. I could barely breathe for it, I could barely stand under the weight of it, and I couldn’t imagine how such an ache, such a hunger could exist inside my flesh and not tear me apart. I was astonished that Annie seemed completely unaware of anything out of the ordinary, and to be quite honest, I wasn’t anxious to share it with her. She continued to chatter on about her plans to make Chapel House over with a state of the art kitchen—she who didn’t cook, and a master suite that would rival the finest hotels in London. Strange that I could listen with one part of my brain and comment on her ideas for an open plan living space, for a library in the choir loft, for a wet room in the sacristy, while with another part of my brain I felt like every cell of my body was responding to whatever it was, whoever it was that I was certain waited there in the darkness, just beyond the beam of Annie’s Maglite. ***The departmentalizing of Annie’s plans and the feel of the presence in the darkness became much more difficult when I felt the closeness of a warm, hard body against my back and the humid nip of a kiss on the nape of my neck. I explained away my little gasp of surprise to Annie by saying I’d almost lost my footing. I should have been frightened. I should have been terrified, and believe me, I was. But by the time I felt a large hand splayed low against my belly, by the time I was certain of the maleness pressed hard and low just above my butt, I was far more intrigued than I was frightened. Even if terror had won out, I don’t think I could have forced myself to move as the hand in the darkness migrated to cup my breasts and thumb my nipples, first one, then the other, and the slow grind and undulation from behind became more demanding. “The roses, they smell lovely.” I managed a breathless response to Annie’s ramblings about plans for the overgrown mess of a garden. “You might want to consider a scent garden.” She laughed. “I can’t smell anything, but then you were always the one with the sensitive nose. Of course I’ll make sure there are lots of roses.” She knew they were my favorite, but I couldn’t imagine her not smelling them; the scent was nearly overwhelming in the tight space of the crypt. To my surprise, as she rambled on about a patio with a Jacuzzi, the smell of roses was subsumed in my own scent and the humid, piquant scent of a man well aroused. The hand on my breast began a slow, torturous descent, and I wanted nothing more than for Annie to keep talking, keep planning, anything to keep her from dragging me away from this place, at least for a few more minutes. I asked about the Jacuzzi, hoping that would give me another minute. By the time she got started about the sites she’d looked up online and the builders she’d talked to, I was rocking back against the hardness, craning my neck to yield as much bare skin as possible to teeth and tongue and lips all soft and warm and wet and sharp and hard and demanding. Oh, I tried to be as unobtrusive as possible, but looking back, I wonder how the hell Annie couldn’t see? How could she have missed it? But she rattled on and on about some builder just up the road near Keswick who was supposed to be really good, some guy named Michael. Like I gave a fuck. The study suddenly felt stuffy and overheated, and Michael’s grip on my hand convulsed. His jaw tightened, but he didn’t look at me. Magda paid little attention to either my discomfort or Michael’s. She just kept on reading. He was cute, Annie said. That led to observations about this Michael’s broad shoulders and nice arse and speculation as to whether or not he would be any good in bed, and was it wise to seduce him before he put in her Jacuzzi or wait till after and seduce him in it. All the while I nodded and pretended to be interested. I was thankful for the extra time, but Christ, how could she not notice me standing there, legs apart, rocking back and forth and shifting from foot to foot like I had ants in my knickers? In truth, what I wanted in my knickers surely couldn’t actually be there, and yet I felt it, fucking hell, how I felt it! I swear, I could feel muscle and sinew. Hell, I could feel the actual shape of an erection as though we were both naked, as though all he need do, this dark being who surely was just my imagination, was bend me over and open me, me struggling to keep my breathing quiet, me struggling to focus enough attention on my friend that she wouldn’t suspect I was about to come. Oh yes, I was terrified. I would have, should have, run, if I hadn’t been so intrigued, so turned on. I just wanted one more second, and then another and another. In desperation that shocks me even now as I write this in the dark silence of Annie’s flat, I grabbed onto a wrist that I swear was as solid and warm as my own and guided the caress, the tease, the fondling of fingers and palm down my belly toward where I really needed it to be. Annie yammered on about this Michael, all the things she’d heard about him, all the things she wanted to do to him—at least I think she did. My God, my whole body felt alive, every cell, every molecule. I could damn near feel the coursing of my own blood through my veins. You have no idea what an exhilarating combination fear and arousal make. I lost track of what Annie was saying, and the air was filled with the scent of sex. I could smell him, actually smell this phantom man, who was as near release as I was, and I was sure, as my knees gave beneath me, I felt the warm wet of his orgasm against my lower back. And then for an instant everything around me was silk and darkness, so perfect, so ecstatic. But just beyond that warm tight space, I knew. I knew as well as I know my own breath, I was terrified, and what I felt was like no terror I’d ever known before and, holy God in heaven, I want to feel it again. And then I was shivering on my knees against the stone floor in the crypt at Chapel House. “Susan? Susan, you’re scaring me.” Annie’s worried face invaded my field of vision before she half-blinded me with her Maglite. “Are you all right? What the hell happened?” “Sorry, I got a little lightheaded there. Probably just blood sugar. I missed lunch,” I lied, stumbling quickly to my feet, making a quick swipe at the back of my skirt, surprised to find it was dry. Glancing over my shoulder into the narrow beam of the Maglite, I saw only the empty darkness of the crypt and the tunnel that led back to the rusted barred door. But I was certain someone was there, someone I hungered for way more than I hungered for food. And I was equally certain that I would have Him.

The final chapter might scare you at first, but keep reading. Brace for Impact on WeWrWa #8Sunday

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors! Where writers share an 8- 10 sentence snippet of their writing on Sunday.  Visit other participants on the list and read and comment on their 8sunday posts.Spread the word. Twitter hashtag #8sunday.
www.wewriwa.com
This snippet is from my latest - which is a release - erotic contemporary - Brace for Impact. This is from the box set - Crashing into Love- which we split up and have individually released our stories.
Scene set - Lori, rookie flight attendant's plane just crashed into the Caribbean at night. Water is leaking into the plane

Lori unclicked her seatbelt and pressed her hand on the bulkhead behind her. She stood, blindly feeling her way along the wall. Flashlight. Where is it? Her fingers wrapped around a long plastic cylinder. She tugged at a clasp and it released from the wall. The water was up to her ankles. Sobs filled her ears. She snapped her head up. They had to get off the plane before it sank.

Brace for Impact

This is the release of the single story taken from the Crashing into Love box set.
What could be simpler than a routine plane trip from Toronto, Canada to Caracas, Venezuela for a rookie flight attendant and a sexy R.C.M.P. officer?
But Fate had other intentions.
After leaving a disastrous marriage, Paix Allcot begins a new career as a flight attendant. The romance of travel plus the desperate need to be on any other continent other than the one her ex is on seems like a dream job. For the first time, Paix is no longer a trainee and the passengers in economy class are under her care. Especially the handsome passenger seated in 36C.
Guy Lapierre, undercover officer, is following a vicious human-trafficker. He has little time for relationships. Too many innocent lives are at stake. But when the plane crashes and Guy is stranded on a tropical island, he is forced to work with Paix to survive until he discovers that the man he is tracking is Paix's older brother.
Can a pink bra and a hot night on the side of a volcano save the relationship and their lives?

Review  -Daryl Devore's book was fantastic also it was probably one of my favorites of the set. I was crying at the end thinking the worst but it turned out great.

Review - Daryl Devore likes to add unexpected events to her novels. And this one has several which if you google you’ll discover have really happened. So as you read this delightful story thinking it over the top, remember that while some events may seem improbable, life is full of improbable occurrences.
I thought both Guy and Paix were stand-up people. Paix had a moment of not so stand up when she finds her brother, but even there, when she thinks it through, she rights herself in short order. No one is perfect, but these two are really good, which results in great extreme action fun.
2 Warnings: The sex is explicit and the final chapter might scare you at first, but keep reading.Amazon

He’d seen her on the streets, in the flea bag bars and pool halls the midnight scum frequented. She fascinated him with her Mediterranean beauty and her disdain. The smoke in the pool hall hung in the air like a noose from the ceiling.

She wanted a bath but she wanted the blond-haired, blue-eyed man with the heart-shaped face and the gentle mouth more, first.

She thinks he’s a blundering, inexperienced little boy who shouldn’t be within fifty miles of her prized horses. But it doesn’t matter much—they’ll never have to see each other again. Or will they?

When fate throws them into the same room together at a charity fundraiser, the resentment between them quickly resurfaces. But mixed in with that resentment is something they both tried to deny… attraction. Will the chemistry between them cancel out the animosity, or were their first impressions just too powerful to change?

Bad Medicine by Red L. Jameson

**Book 4 of the Wild Love Series, an erotic romance**

When you make a deal with the devil…Don’t complain about the heat.Luckily, I like it hot.

Nurse Ian Ryder, or just Ryder, is everything I want. He’s big. He’s tough. He’s oh-so-sexy with his leather jacket and motorcycle that I’ve had indecent fantasies about. And even better, he seems emotionally closed off. Not the kind of man who would ask a lot of personal questions. The perfect candidate to reveal my secret—I’m still a virgin, worried I’ll die this way if I don’t do something about it soon. Somehow, I’m going to convince Ryder to play doctor with me.

Dr. Asha Whitetail is completely out of my league. Intelligent and sophisticated. And those glasses she wears makes me think about steaming up her scrubs. When an awkward moment turns into a hot kiss, I realize I’m going to do everything I can to have her—not just her body but her heart too. Problem is, she seems to want only one thing from me. So I’m going to make her an offer she can’t refuse. I’ll give her what she wants, if she spends time with me, gets to know me, the real me, while I do everything in my power to convince her she can play doctor with me…for life.

The Wild Love Series is set in Wyoming and Montana, where things are little more…wild, where love can never tamed. Each book within the series can be read as a standalone and intended for a mature and adventurous reader. Enjoy and fall in love!
