Captured and tortured knight Simon de Rhys is in no position to refuse Lady Jocelyn's proposition: his freedom for one night with her. The task seems simple, and deeply pleasurable, until he discovers her secret…."

REVIEW: Ex Equals by L.A. Witt
Jane's Note: We are posting this review in celebration of the Don't Ask Don't Tell Repeal that is occurring today. We'll have a lovely post by Maili listing romances featuring deaf characters on Thursday.
Dear Ms. Witt.
I like your books. Your writing's solid, the characters are great, the sex is usually hot. So I was excited to see that you had another m/m romance coming out. I also very much liked that the story was military set, because I know you know what you're talking about when it...
REVIEW: Fateful by Claudia Gray
Dear Ms. Gray,
I've never read your other series, but as soon as I heard the pitch for this book, I knew I had to have it. Werewolves on the Titanic? How can I resist? I'm always on the lookout for an intriguing twist, and this sounded perfect. While this book was enjoyable and the characterization spot-on, I felt that it was still missing some key elements that would move this from 'good read' to 'great read'.

REVIEW: The Gladiator's Master by Fae Sutherland and Marguerite Labbe
Dear Ms. Sutherland and Ms. Labbe.
Your book was pointed out to me by someone in my "trust network," the description intrigued me, and I checked it out. I'm glad I did. The book was compelling, even if I had issues with it all the way through.
[image error]I kind of cringe when I read historical books set before the eighteenth century. It's very difficult for me to believe that the authors can get it really right (not that I'm a historical expert by any means), because the way people think and relate to...
REVIEW: Working Arrangements by Ellen Wolf
Dear Ms. Wolf:
When I first started this book, I wondered if was a reprint of a formerly published book because I felt like I had read it before. I double checked and no, it was a self published work and possibly your first one. Yet, I had read a story very similar to this called In Bed with the Boss by Susan Napier which is one of my favorite Napier books. The more that I read "Working Arrangements", the more uncomfortable I began to feel. This wasn't plagiarism. There was no overt...
Sunita reports from Bouchercon 2011, Part 2
I went back to Bouchercon on Friday and Saturday and caught as many panels as I could, given my other responsibilities this weekend (why does everything always happen at the same time? Argh). [Check out Sunita's report from Friday] Unfortunately I had evening commitments both days, so I couldn't hang out at the bar (which is of course where so much of the fun is). But the panels were well worth attending and I was able to speak to authors during the books signing slots, so I'm not...
