Production update
Just a quick note to say that the printer has received the files for Shadows & Tall Trees 2. With luck, I'll have copies in a couple weeks. Much to my delight, several people have pre-ordered a copy.

Great review of issue 1
The Speculative Fiction Junkie has reviewed issue 1 of the journal.
http://www.speculativefictionjunkie.com/
I'm very grateful for the review. Honestly, I thought the paper quality was good. I was assured it was. It's a 55lb, natural cream. I wanted a rustic look and feel. Please do let me know if you also thought the paper quality was an issue.
And a few points more about the lack of an electronic edition: It was always conceived as a print journal. No electronic version enhances the value of the print edition. The second issue will have a higher print run. It will always be reasonably priced, and if demand is high enough I will print more copies. For those interested, there will be no trouble getting a copy.

A tale accepted for issue 3
I've accepted Ray Cluley's fabulous story "Night Fishing" for inclusion in issue 3 of Shadows & Tall Trees. True, publication is a long way off, but Ray has graciously allowed me to keep the story until then.

Postscripts 24/25: The New and Perfect Man
The latest Postscripts anthology, The New and Perfect Man, is a bumper issue clocking in at almost 400 pages. 150,000 words! I've a new tale in this one, A Crack in the Ceiling of the World. It's available now. I know this because my gorgeous contributor copy arrived today. Lots of really good stuff in this one: Ramsey Campbell, Thomas Tessier, T. M. Wright, Rio Youers, Carol Emshwiller and many others.

Ellen Datlow on issue 1
The estimable Ellen Datlow on Shadows & Tall Trees. "Shadows & Tall Trees edited by Michael Kelly debuted in the autumn with a simply elegant digest-sized format and consistently good supernatural, ghost, and weird fiction…This looks to be the perfect magazine for aficionados of low-key horror. Bravo."
