Help needed
Just a reminder that I’m doing a no-risk crowd-funding campaign for Apparitions 2, an anthology of hauntings and ghosts. You can donate risk-free. If I do not reach my goal, PayPal refunds all monies. Of course, if I reach my goal, you get some great books. It’s a no-lose situation. Please help, if you can. And please spread the word. Here is the link.

Major announcement
I’ve thrown my hat into the crowd-funding scene to raise funds for a major new anthology of ghost stories, Apparitions 2. If you would like to contribute (and I sincerely hope you do), there is absolutely no risk on your part. The campaign is set up such that if I do not reach my goal, all monies will be repaid by PayPal.
Apparitions 2 is an anthology of figments, ghosts and hauntings, and is the sequel to the Shirley Jackson Award finalist Apparitions. It will feature original fiction from Glen Hirshberg, Kathe Koja, John Langan, Sarah Langan, Mark Morris, Reggie Oliver, M. Rickert, and Simon Strantzas. The final slots in the anthology will be filled during an open reading period from Feb. 1, 2013 to Feb. 28, 2013. It promises to be an exceptional book.
Artist Erin Wells, who supplied the fabulous cover art for Apparitions 1, will once again lend her incredible talents to the project.
Here’s the direct link, if you’d like to contribute. A campaign like this only works if word gets out. If you could mention the campaign on your blogs, Twitter and Facebook accounts, etc., I’d be most appreciative.

Hey, writers!!
Hey, it’s time again for The Friends of the Merril Short Fiction Contest. I’m a judge, along with the uber-talented Leah Bobet, Sandra Kasturi, Chris Szego, and Michael Matheson. It truly is a great cause. The Merril is the foremost North American public assemblage of Speculative, SF and Fantasy Fiction. Check it out. Some great prizes, including a chance to pitch to ChiZine Publications.

A review and World Fantasy
I sent this past weekend at the World Fantasy Convention. Suffice to say it was a whirlwind. Had a very good time. Very happy to say it was a good weekend for Shadows & Tall Trees. I sold some copies and received many plaudits about the journal.
Speaking of, here’s a terrific review of issue 4 by Anthony Watson.
