Submissions

Briefly, I’ve updated the submission page to reflect a new reading period and my needs for non-fiction.

As well, happy to report that Robert Shearman’s story “Bedtime Stories for Yasmin,” was given an Honorable Mention (Short List), in The Best Horror of the Year, Vol. 5. Given that 2 stories from issue 3 will be reprinted in the volume, I’m very pleased. Hopefully some of the other worthy tales will garner some recognition, as well.

British Fantasy Society Awards

I had a request for PDF’s of issues 3 & 4 from a member of the British Fantasy Society. I obliged. If there are voting members on this list who want the PDF’s, as well, just let me know. I’m told the votes are due end of the month.

Black Static magazine

For years, Black Static (and its predecessor, The Third Alternative) has been my favourite horror magazine. It was a major impetus to get me to start Shadows & Tall Trees. It’s a journal I hold in the highest regard. So, I’m very pleased to have a story appear in its pages. Issue 33 is now out and features my tale ‘Turn the Page.’ You should subscribe. It’s a terrific magazine.

Final piece of the puzzle

Richard Gavin’s “A Cavern of Redbrick” has been added to the Table of Contents of Shadows & Tall Trees 5. Very happy to have the piece. The issue is now officially full. It’s actually a bit over-full. Look for it in July.

Ghosts

Adam Golaski, a terrific writer and editor, has guest-edited a selection of poems entitled “Ghosts” for the journal Word For / Word. There’s some interesting experimental and contemporary verse here. Please check it out.
