Apparitions

Apparitions was the first book published by Undertow Publications, this little imprint of mine. It was a final nominee for the Shirley Jackson Award for Edited Anthology.

As well, Gemma Files’ tale ‘The Jacaranda Smile’ was a Shirley Jackson nominee for short story. Gemma’s story, along with Steve Duffy’s ‘Certain Death for a Known Person’ were both reprinted in “The Year’s Best Dark Fantasy & Horror 2010.

The anthology sold out, and has never been reprinted. Soon, though, I’ll have news about more Apparitions. Watch this space.

Supernatural Tales

My short story “October Dreams,” originally set for inclusion in Supernatural Tales 23, has been bumper up to issue 22. This pleases me. From editor David Longhorn:

Michael Kelly’s very short story ‘October Dreams’ has been added to the contents list of ST22. It’s a neat little story with a slight Ray Bradbury feel to it, which seems appropriate given the author’s recent demise. ST22 is on track for publication in late September or early October.
