kayte-ghaffar:

The amazing conclusion to the Grisha Trilogy is just a few weeks away!

I cannot wait to celebrate the release of Ruin and Rising and my friend, the marvelous Leigh Bardugo, at The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles three weeks from today! If you live in the area and want to join in the fun, you can rsvp and reserve books here. And if you don’t live in CA, catch a plane like me and I’ll meet you there.

It’s true! Kayte (Master Fabrikator and creator of all gorgeous swag), Irene Koh (Sometime Corporalnik and the genius behind the Soldier Summoner Saint poster), and Joanna Volpe (I don’t know what her Grisha order is but it involves much kickassery) will all be there!

YOU SHOULD COME TO.

i trusted you

Do not trust people like me. I will take you to museums, and parks, and monuments, and kiss you in every beautiful place, so that you can never go back to them without tasting me like blood in your mouth. I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible. And when I leave you will finally understand, why storms are named after people

Hi Holly! I'm a big fan, and I wanted to give The coldest girl in coldtown to a friend, but it was unavailable on amazon, and now it's like 19 dollars! Do you know the reason? I never saw a YA book so expensive!

I think you might have to buy it on another site, as Amazon is raising prices on Hachette books and inflating shipping times to win a negotiation. They’re also making pre-orders unavailable on forthcoming titles, which is why, if you look at the Amazon page for Darkest Part of the Forest, it is super weird and the books seems un-buyable.

However, Barnes & Noble has Coldtown for 12.35, Powells has it for 13.50, BAM has it for 12.35, and you can go to Indiebound to see how much it costs at a local store near you. And, of course, you could go to your local library and see if its either there or if you could request it via interlibrary loan.

I am sorry about all this — and I am really frustrated with Amazon. These tactics affect authors and books far more than they will ever affect publishers.

Anyway, however you wind up getting the book, I really hope your friend likes it.

Just a reminder that you can order ANY of the books from the trilogy and get these marvelous treats (the bookplates are “Grisha Trilogy” and gorgeous and the map is on the back of the poster)—all while supporting independent bookstores!

“Q: How many male novelists does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

A: He lit a cigarette. His glass of whiskey lit a cigarette too. “I can only truly love my best friend,” he said, “but not in a gay way. Women wouldn’t understand it. They’re too gay.” Both of the cigarettes agreed.”

“The cocaine isn’t the point. The cocaine is a metaphor,” he explained wearily over the pile of cocaine. She folded her arms. She didn’t understand his cocaine. “Didn’t you read my manifesto?” The prostitute had read his manifesto. Why couldn’t she?

first a girl gets stabbed and killed by a dude at school because she refused to go to prom with him

now seven women are dead and more are injured because some idiot tool felt like sex or even attention from women was something that was somehow “owed” to him

how many more times does this have to happen before we start getting it through our heads that male entitlement fucking kills people
