ONE WEEK YA CHALLENGE - ONE SERIES → The Grisha Trilogy

This was his soul made flesh, the truth of him laid bare in the blazing sun, shorn of mystery and shadow. This was the truth behind the handsome face and the miraculous powers, the truth that was the dead and empty space between the stars, a wasteland peopled by frightened monsters.

So excited  that the beautiful cover for MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME: 12 HOLIDAY STORIES is now public. The illustrator, Jim Tierney, knocked it out of the park and the finished book will also have gorgeous interior illustrations. So pretty!

Stephanie Perkins masterminded this idea, and made it all happen so fast (it’ll be less than a year between her coming up with the idea and it hitting shelves, which in publishing DOES.NOT.HAPPEN. Hats off to Sara Goodman at St. Martin’s who is the official editor here and who helped us make bring this thing to life.)

My story is called “What the Hell Have You Done, Sophie Roth?” It’s about  college students Sophie and Russell who meet at a Christmas caroling concert (or reindeer orgy) and wind up spending one night (the last night of Hanukah, as it were) together.

Each of the couples in the collection are represented by an illustration and Sophie and Russell are  up front on the right  (she’s wearing the camel coat; he has on a red scarf).

The book comes out October 14th. So excited for you all to read it.

Gah, SO excited! I have read one…bet you can guess which. It’s FANTASTIC.

Oh WOWWWWWWWW

I want it.

Hello! I just watched the message from the darkling's forces, and do you maybe know where the music is from? It's really awesome, especially the music from the resistance part

Why yes, yes I do!

The music for the resistance is from a song I wrote with my friend E. Aaron Wilson called “Winter Prayer.” You can download it for free.

And if you’d like to know a bit more about the story behind the song, hear from the people who worked on it, and listen to a tiny snippet of the first rough recording when we were getting the melody down, it’s all here.

We’re *so* excited!!

Leigh Bardugo will be visiting the UK in August to celebrate publication of RUIN & RISING with us! *dances*

First events are announced, check back for more details (if pages are not live in the links below, they very soon will be), *and* we’ll be posting more news soon!

Leigh will be visiting WorldCon in London, Seven Stories in Newcastle, Waterstones in Liverpool and Ireland!

Happy Monday!

Hey hey HEY!!!

I’m heading over to the UK this summer! We’ll be adding a few more surprises along the way, but here are the first stops. I hope you’ll come see me. I couldn’t be more excited. (I mean, MAYBE, if there were pony rides and Henry Cavill volunteered to carry my luggage, but it’s a close thing.)
