Countdown to “The Roman”
Dear Everyone,
Happy Halloween.
As Halloween approaches, you may be looking to read something supernatural. If so, you can read a sample of The Raven here.
My Florentine Series is coming to a close. The final book, The Roman, releases December 6th. Amazon has put the ebook on sale for $4.77.
If you haven’t had a chance to read my new series, or were waiting for the series to be complete, the wait is almost over. Many readers begin with The Raven, then read The Shadow. The Prince is a prequel novella that bridges the gap between Gabriel’s Redemption and The Raven.
The Florentine Series has been published in Portuguese, Spanish, Czech, and Polish. Forthcoming translations include Turkish.
I want to thank my readers from around the world for their continued support. Now that this series is concluded, I’m turning my attention to a new book, a new city (Paris), and a new adventure. I’ll post more about the new book soon.
All the best and thank you for reading,
SR

Guest post – #YoSoyRaven
Dear Everyone,
What follows is a guest post in Spanish and its English translation, penned by Las Alondras, the readers who run the Spanish language podcast on The Florentine Series.
These ladies are delightful, dedicated readers who are very active in the Spanish speaking community. They have devoted a great deal of time to reaching Spanish speaking readers around the world and helping them find my books in their respective countries. I am very grateful for their support and for the support of the Spanish speaking community.
Thank you for reading. Muchas gracias por leer,
SR
Guest Post for Sylvain Reynard
Las Alondras: The Spanish Speaking Community of Noches en Florencia Fan Podcast
It’s been almost a year since Sylvain Reynard gave us the opportunity to embark on one of the most wonderful and challenging adventures for any fan of his books: having the privilege of producing and conducting Noches en Florencia Fan Podcast. We are known as Las Alondras in honor of Raven Wood, the heroine of the series. This weekly podcast discusses Noches en Florencia, Spanish version of the Florentine Series, which starts with El Príncipe. We are currently discussing La Alondra, which will be followed by the translations of The Shadow and The Roman (book that concludes the love story between Raven and William,) that will be released on December 6. Our experience has been full of intense emotions and extraordinary challenges.
The podcast has allowed us to find our voice and spread the word not only about SR’s books, but also about the social issues that he explores in his stories. We’ve been able to connect with our Hispanic community, even when the books were not available at the beginning for most Spanish speaking countries. It also has opened the doors for us to reach every corner in the world where Spanish is spoken, serving as one of many liaisons between Sylvain Reynard and his Spanish reading/speaking community – especially in Latin America. We are very proud of the campaigns that we promote, such as #NoToPiracy and the most recent, #YoSoyRaven.
When we started discussing The Prince in January, our audience was of four listeners. Very few of our followers had read The Prince. However, we didn’t feel discouraged; rather the opposite. It became a reason to work harder promoting SR’s work, finding new ways to spread the word about Noches en Florencia to reach more readers in our community. Even today it remains a challenge, but thanks to the podcast we are able to create and maintain a close and mutually supportive relationship with the readers. Today, our audience and followers has grown exponentially and the warmth of the Hispanic Community has been felt throughout Sylvain Reynard’s global reading community.
In our weekly shows, we’ve met many talented readers who have a heart of gold. Dedicated readers like us, who in their free time spread the word around the world letting everyone know about SR’s writing. Our community is alive every time that someone shares their favorite quotes of each chapter inspired in books of the series, either by creating a wonderful edit or by sending their voice messages. When their voices join ours, the readers become protagonists of our podcast. The heart of our community beats each time that a post is shared in social media, especially our posts raising awareness about social issues, and it rejoices with each positive interaction with our followers. We’re deeply grateful for the love and support received from the readers. It wouldn’t be the same without them. Each time something is shared is a mobilizing gesture; like a water drop that keeps falling causing a growing and powerful ripple effect for all of us.
Our major goal as podcasters remains the same. We’re committed to promote the Florentine Series in every country where Spanish is spoken saying #NoToPiracy and yes to the author, as well as joining forces to build a positive environment that feeds from our community’s core values. A supportive community that helps each other no matter the circumstances; where language is not a barrier. A charitable community, unique and committed, of which we feel extremely proud of. One people, one voice, and only one language spoken, no matter what country you come from, kindness.
#YoSoyRaven Campaign
One of the advantages that we try to maximize in the podcast is to make a deeper exploration of the social aspects that Sylvain Reynard masterfully integrates in his writing. As we said earlier, the #YoSoyRaven campaign has its origins in our podcast, inspired by the heroine of the story Raven Wood. In La Alondra, Raven goes through a temporary and very mysterious physical transformation that turns her into an extremely beautiful woman. However, even when she gets back to her usual self (a woman of unconventional beauty and with a disability,) the readers will find out that the most significant transformation that Raven undergoes won’t vanish. It just started. Its effect will be engraved inside her like an indelible mark. Her essence always has been one full of kindness, compassion, strength and courage, but during this specific transformation, she learns something very important that she couldn’t see or accept before. Raven learned to see and accept herself as her loved one sees her. For William, she’s perfect. Beautiful. She understood that physical beauty is vain, temporary, and subjective and it has nothing to do with the happiness of feeling loved and whole.
SR has gifted us in his new series with a protagonist that redefines the social definition of beauty. Raven represents the beauty that comes from within. An unconventional beauty according to society standards. A beauty that is infinite, not temporary. The kind of beauty that changes and inspires those who are able to see it. The beauty that comes from our intelligence, compassion, our capacity to love, our strength and courage. This beauty is a treasure that allures and captivates whoever finds it. Raven reminds us that there’s beauty in each human being, no matter the size, height, physical appearance, skin color or origin.
In conclusion, the beauty that lacks of virtue and character is temporary, thus we all should aspire to the beauty that comes from within and let it shine brightly. This beauty is infinite and immeasurable. Many Alondras around the world have been discovering and living their own transformations with Raven. For us, is an honor and a privilege to be part of their lives and share this special moment with them. There’s nothing that we want more than to spread the word about Raven’s story and to help the readers see and learn how to look at their own beauty. The #YoSoyRaven campaign has the purpose to guide you to discover or make you remember how uniquely beautiful and brave you really are.
To all of you reading these lines … You are also Raven.

Interview with Nina Bocci, author of “Roman Crazy”
Dear Everyone,
Today I am very pleased to present my interview with Nina Bocci, the author (with Alice Clayton) of the new book Roman Crazy, which releases September 13th and is already available for preorder. I read an early copy of this book and really enjoyed it. You don’t want to miss it.
Here’s my interview with Nina:
SR-You’ve co-authored “Roman Crazy,” which releases September 13th, with Alice Clayton. How did you meet Alice?
Nina – I met Alice in the Twilight Fandom sometime in 2008. We’ve been friends ever since. I’ve been lucky enough to have met a bunch of great friends in the fandom and I’m eternally grateful.
SR – I had the pleasure of reading Roman Crazy already. Tell our readers what they can expect.
Nina – Thank you for reading! I think what they can expect is a love letter to Rome, a favorite city of mine, as well as a message to never give up on your dreams. Avery made choices and things didn’t exactly go as planned, but she finds herself having a second chance at the life she wants as well as the love she’s longed for.
SR – How did the collaborative process with Alice work?
Nina – I think it definitely works differently for different authors. For us, we made sure to outline the entire book so the framework was there. We knew the main scenes that we wanted included and we worked with our editor, Lauren, to smooth out the details. Overall, our goal was to get this to become the best book that we could deliver and for it not to sound too much like Alice or too much like me. We wanted it to be written in a voice that people weren’t expecting from us.
SR – What suggestions do you have for other authors who’d like to work collaboratively?
Nina – Go into it with reasonable expectations. You have to realize that you’re going to have to make some choices for the good of the book. It may not be exactly what you originally envisioned but that’s okay.
SR – What’s your favourite neighbourhood in Rome?
Nina – I love everything in and around Vatican City. Trastevere, where Daisy and Avery live in ROMAN CRAZY, is also a favorite.
SR – Did you travel to Rome to research the novel?
Nina – I’ve been to Italy many times before and the idea for this book actually came after I had returned from researching another book. I relied on the many photos and videos that I took.
SR – Why did you choose Rome as the backdrop for Roman Crazy?
Nina – A secret is that originally it was Florence but when we got to the outlining stage, we changed it to Rome.
SR – Is there a Roman food or drink that you especially enjoy?
Nina – Can I say everything? One of my favorite things anywhere is fresh pasta. There was a restaurant I visited the last time I was in Rome. It was near The Vatican and since I was alone, and it wasn’t crowded, my waiter sat with me the whole night telling stories as we enjoyed two large bowls of Pappardelle Bolognese. Plus, more wine than I care to admit to drinking. . .
SR – In addition to being an author, you’re also a well-respected publicist. What’s your favourite aspect of public relations?
Nina – That’s kind of you to say. I think my favorite part is talking about the books that I love, especially when I find a blogger or a site that shares the same love. That’s gratifying. Bloggers are unsung, unpaid heroes of the writing community. Their work is a testament to how much they love books and want to share that joy with others. The world needs more love in it.
SR – What advice to you have for aspiring authors?
Nina – Write daily. A wise author *wink wink* once told me that. And get critique partners that you trust.
SR – What is your next writing project?
Nina – I’m working on a solo contemporary romance and also a YA (Young Adult) series that I hope to finish by the end of the year.
SR- Thank you, Nina, for joining us and best of luck with Roman Crazy. Readers are going to enjoy it.
Nina – Thank you for having me.

John Michael Morgan
Dear Everyone,
It is with sadness that I announce the passing of John Michael Morgan. John was the narrator of my audiobooks and an exceptional actor.
When I was choosing the narrator for The Gabriel Series, I had the opportunity to listen to a number of audition tapes from very talented actors. John immediately caught my attention with his ability to morph into different characters. His audio recordings of The Gabriel Series are incredible. I still listen to them, fascinated by his performance.
When it came time to choose a narrator for The Florentine Series, I requested John. Unfortunately, he was ill at that time. But John wanted to record the audiobooks despite his illness and so we were delighted to be able to work with him once again.
My novels aren’t easy for a single actor to perform. There are many characters and nationalities presented. The characters sometimes speak in different languages or with unique accents. The Florentine Series in particular provided challenging material. John didn’t simply narrate The Raven and The Shadow – he performed them. He brought life to all the characters, especially the Prince, in a way that reminded me of the radio shows of long ago.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing and I wish to express my condolences to his friends and family. Please join me in remembering John. You can read a previous post that includes his biography here. You can listen to a sample of his exceptional narration here.
Thank you for listening,
SR

The Roman
Dear Everyone,
The final book in The Florentine Series is entitled “The Roman” and it will be released December 6th. It follows The Prince, The Raven, and The Shadow. “The Roman” is already available for preorder from iBooks, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Chapters, and the Book Depository (which ships worldwide, with free shipping).
Heather Carrier designed the cover of “The Roman” and she did a fantastic job.
“The Roman” marks the end of my paranormal series. I really enjoyed exploring the underworld of Florence and I became very attached to the characters. I’m proud of “The Roman” and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
I’m turning my attention now to a new series, which will be contemporary and not paranormal. More information on the new series will be forthcoming.
Thank you for your support and thank you for reading. As we approach the release date for “The Roman,” there will be teasers. In addition, my publicist, Nina, is putting together a book blog tour. If you have a book blog and you’re interested in joining the tour, you can email her: enn@boccipr.com
All the best and thank you for reading,
SR

Title Reveal
Dear Everyone,
If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you know I’ve been talking about the forthcoming release of the final book in The Florentine Series.
The Florentine Series consists of The Prince, The Raven, The Shadow, and a fourth and final novel I’m finishing now.
I’m pleased to be able to announce the title of the last book.
(drum roll)
The last book in The Florentine Series is titled The Roman. The cover, synopsis, and details about the release will be revealed soon. Stay tuned.
It was important to me that you wouldn’t have to wait too long in between the release of The Shadow on February 2nd and the release of The Roman, so The Roman will be released in December.
If you haven’t had a chance to read The Florentine Series, now is a good time to start. The Raven is on sale for $4.99 across most outlets.
If you haven’t listened to one of the reader-led podcasts on my books, I encourage you to do so. There are two Spanish podcasts (One on the Gabriel Series and one on the Florentine Series), one Portuguese podcast, and two English podcasts (One on the Gabriel Series and one on the Florentine Series). You can find details about them on my Twitter timeline with links to their Mixlr pages. You can also find them for free in the podcast section of the iTunes store.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. I value the reading community I’ve been honoured to join and I’m grateful for you.
Thank you for reading,
SR

SALE
Dear Everyone,
The Raven is now on sale for $4.99 on Amazon.com. Gabriel’s Inferno is also on sale for $4.99.
My publisher rarely puts my books on sale. I’m not sure how long the sale will last. If you or a friend are looking to start reading a new series, now may be the time since the prices for all three books in The Gabriel Series have been reduced.
There is one more book to come in The Florentine Series and I’m finishing it now. My goal is to have it in your hands before Christmas. I should have more details soon but stay tuned.
I’ve already begun working on a new series, which will be a contemporary love story. One of the novels will be set in Paris. More details on the new series to come …
And if you haven’t tuned in to one of the four different book podcasts (two in English, one in Spanish and one in Portuguese (Brazil)), you are missing out. Check my twitter(@sylvainreyanrd) for retweets and links to these fun and informative podcasts about my books.
All the best and thank you for reading,
SR
