Teaser from the sequel to “The Raven”
Dear Everyone,
As promised, I’m posting a short teaser from the sequel to “The Raven.” Soon we’ll be having a cover and title reveal and I’ll be posting a longer teaser. I should be able to share the release date soon, too.
Here’s the teaser:
‘The Prince of Florence stood outside a house in Umbria, conflicted.
He was conflicted for a myriad of reasons, not least of which was the green-eyed woman he’d left in Florence. Nevertheless, locating Professor Gabriel Emerson and his family was easy. He and his wife, Julianne, owned the house that stood majestically on a hill, the lights from its windows cheering the darkness.
So it was that the Prince stood outside the house, listening as Katherine Picton, an older friend of the family, bade her hosts good night and Clare, the infant daughter of the Emersons, was put to bed in her parents’ room.
He waited impatiently while the Emersons pursued their pleasure in a hot tub that was placed on the balcony off their bedroom.
The Prince wrinkled his nose as their marital union dragged on and on. He had yet to discover another married human couple who engaged in intercourse as frequently as the Emersons. He tapped his leather-clad foot on the garden floor, willing them to couple faster.
It was a starless night, dark and still. The sky was a velvet arc above him while the summer breeze whispered in his ear. He heard Julianne cry out in pleasure and waited a respectable few moments after she entered the house. Then he scaled the wall of the villa, eager to surprise the Professor while he was alone.
He was not disappointed.
“We meet again.” The Prince’s conversational tone belied his menacing figure.
Startled, Gabriel stood in the hot tub, his wet, naked body shining in the dim light that shone from the bedroom.
“What do you want?” he barked, fingers curving into fists.
“I want you to cover yourself, to start with.” The Prince tossed a nearby towel toward the man, regarding him with distaste.
The Professor wrapped the towel around his waist and stepped out of the water. He placed his body between the Prince and the door to the bedroom, which he quickly closed.
“I said, what do you want?” The Professor’s posture was decidedly defensive.
The Prince regarded the Professor for a moment. Then he approached him … ‘

If you’d like to view a trailer for “The Raven,” (designed by Jenna), you can view it here.
If you’d like to join a read a long of “The Prince” or listen to the new Florentine Series podcast, which begins tomorrow, May 2, at 10 AM Eastern, see here.
And if you’re curious about the audiobook to “The Raven,” you can listen to a sample here. John Michael Morgan, who narrated the audiobooks for The Gabriel Series, narrates “The Raven” as well. And as always, he does an outstanding job.

Welcome to the Underworld
Dear Everyone,
The response to “The Prince” and “The Raven” has been overwhelming. Thank you.
I really appreciate your kind words about the books. I’m pleased to report I’m finishing the sequel to “The Raven” now and should know its release date soon.
Recently, a reader visited Florence and was kind enough to share some photographs with me. She has given me permission to share them with you, too, since they relate to my new Florentine Series.
When I was writing “The Raven,” I spent time in Florence researching the novel. I walked through the neighbourhoods and the alleys. I spent time looking up at the Duomo. I stood by the Arno River and watched it flow.
Here are two pictures of the alley Raven found herself in that fateful night:
I should mention that the graffiti is accidental to my choice of alley, but it’s certainly interesting.
I have a few more photos I’ll be sharing in the next couple of weeks.
I wanted to mention that Perling and Elizabeth, two readers, have started a “Gabriel’s Inferno” podcast. They are broadcasting live on Sunday evenings and are proceeding chapter by chapter. On Sunday, April 12th, they’ll be discussing Chapter 5 at 7PM ET. They welcome readers around the world to join them, either by posting on the chat section of their page, or by sending in questions.
You can find their podcast here and listen to previous episodes. Feel free to share the link with others. They’re hosting a giveaway of two autographed copes of “The Raven” and five signed bookmarks. (Autographed by yours truly; the giveaway is open internationally)
All the best and thank you for reading,

“The Raven” has Landed
Dear Everyone,
I’m pleased to announce that my new book, “The Raven,” was released today. It’s available in ebook, paperback, and audiobook from Amazon, iTunes, Barnesandnoble.com, Chapters, and KOBO.
I hope you enjoy it.
Take time for beauty …
Here is a link to Botticelli’s “Primavera,” which is exhibited in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. “Primavera” plays an important role in “The Raven.” And it holds more than one mystery.
All the best and thank you for joining me on this journey back to Florence,
SR
