Office Hours out!

My first release with Amber Allure is now available. This one has a professor, a TA, BDSM, a little bit of angst...

Thad Wells has had enough of lovers. He's focused on his career—hell, that's hard enough, being a young professor fighting for his spot—so when he, literally, runs into Jay Banner on the green, he finds himself saying, "No, no, he's not interested," even as his body's saying, "Yes."

Jay Banner, on the other hand, knows exactly what he wants and knows how to get it. He also knows someone's hurt Thad—and not in the fun, spanky way Jay does when he wears his leathers—and he's determined to get closer to the hot professor.

Things heat up between them, but they both have secrets, and no amount of book-learning can educate two men who might have outsmarted themselves.

Buy it here. (and it's currently only $3.90 on a special "New Release Price")

"Professor Wells? I need to speak with you about my paper."

He kept walking, heading for his appointment with a cold beer, a Valium, and bed. He fucking hated the beginning of a semester, when everyone still believed they could break the rules. Especially these days. Christ. "My office hours are Tuesday and Thursday, one to two-thirty."

"I have a class then."

He shrugged. Not his problem. "Talk to the TA, then. He'll help you out."

The kid sighed, the sound frustrated. "I need your opinion."

He graced the kid with a look. "Obviously I gave it to you. You have a grade."

The look back was his mistake; he walked right into someone tall and solid enough that he went sprawling back on his ass, butt skidding on the crunchiness of the autumn grass.

"Shit! Are you okay?" A good-looking, clean-cut face leaned over him, green eyes concerned.

He blinked for a second, then hauled himself, his bag, and his pride up. "Of course. Excuse me."

At least that scared off the questioner.

"Sorry about that, man. I should have been paying more attention to where I was going." The guy grabbed a phone and a pile of books up before batting at him. "God, you're covered in grass."

"It's fine. I was headed out." He was not going to snarl. Not.

"Yeah, it's Friday, isn't it?"

He got a warm grin. The smile made the man even more good-looking, crinkles appearing at either side of the pretty eyes. The guy was a little older than most students, now that he'd gotten a better look.

"Was on my way to the pub, actually, looking for a beer to celebrate the beginning of the weekend."

"Have a good time, son." He nodded once, refusing to pay attention. He didn't need any bigger of a target painted on his ass, thank you very much. No noticing pretty students. No way, no how. Not with the scandal just really dying down.

"Whoa! Hold on just a second there. Son?" The guy laughed. "No fucking way are you old enough to be calling me son. Unless you've got one of those pictures in your attic. Or was that a heart under the floorboards? I can never remember which."

"The Picture of Dorian Gray, and not the last time I checked, which, honestly, hasn't been that long." He'd been up there setting mouse traps just this summer.

"You've actually got an attic? Too cool."

"I do. Stores the Christmas tree, the dead bodies." Was he actually standing and talking to this man? Seriously?

Those green eyes stared at him for a moment, definitely nonplussed, then the corner of the guy's mouth twitched and those eyes just twinkled. The twitch turned into a laugh and the sound settled right in his belly. "Oh, damn, that was a good one."

Thad winked, telling himself, very firmly that he was not flirting with Mr. Pretty. Not. Not not not. "Thanks."

"Hey, you want to go to the Corner Pub with me?"

He blinked. "You don't know who I am, do you? I guarantee you, I'm bad for your career, but thanks."

"Well, no, but that's what having a drink together is about, right? Getting to know each other. I assume you're a prof." Those lips twisted into a half-smile, this one self-deprecating. "Or are you one of those profs who won't socialize with TAs?"

"I'm one of those assholes your professor tells you about."

My God It's Monday

I don't know what happened to last week -- I seemed to have lost it entirely. I'm going to blame it all on the time change ;)

Today I am participating at a release party at TRS. It's here.

And tomorrow I will be at the TRS Rainbow Blog.

I have news of the Velvet Glove variety. I think I already mentioned that the stories that are in the print volumes but aren't currently available in ebook are going to be released over the next year. I've got the date for the first one -- Connor' Journey will be out on December 28.

To my US readers -- have you started planning for Thanksgiving yet?

Torquere Press has a sale on -- put in veteran2011 for 20% off til the end of day today.

My God It's Not Monday

Man, Mondays always seem so hard to get organized!

The winner of last week's paranormal Monday prize of ebooks copies of Need and Chosen is Helen J. Congrats!

I have a new short story coming out tomorrow.

The Question

Sky and Will have been best friends for a long time and every Saturday they get together to watch the game. Sky has a question, though, which just might change their standing Saturday plans, and their relationship, forever. Will Sky have the guts to ask it?

"Hey, man, can I ask you a question?" Sky looked over at Will, who was draped over the back of the couch like the world's biggest slug, worn jeans and ancient flannel shirt his standard weekend-being-manly uniform.

Not Will's workday slacks and too-expensive button down shirt with ugly shiny shoes thing. Or his tiny shorts and tank top workout get up. Or even his 'oh, I'm going to tear your ass up' Friday night leathers. Just his coming to eat chips and watch the game clothes that Sky had seen every Saturday afternoon for the last eight years.

Will took a swig of his beer and glanced over at him. "Like saying no will shut you up so I can watch the game."

"Fuck off, dickcheese." He threw a piece of popcorn over, turned to watch the replay. It was a stupid fucking question anyway.

Will just laughed at him, reached over for a handful of popcorn and tossed two pieces at him.

He flipped Will off, shaking his head at the ref. "That was a bullshit call, man."

"They're never going to get a fair shake." Will stretched and ate the rest of the popcorn he'd stolen. "Let's see who's playing on another channel."

"Don't be a fairweather fan. There's still a quarter left." He reached for the remote, but was about a second and a half too late.

Will laughed again and stuck out his tongue, changing the channel.

"Fucker." He went to the kitchen, grabbed himself a beer and a couple cubes of cheese from the summer sausage and cheese tray that Will had brought.

"Uh-huh. Takes one to know one." Will had stolen the bowl of popcorn by the time he got back to the couch.

He plopped down on his recliner, sucked on his beer. "Back on the game, huh?"

"You know I was just fucking with you."

"I know." He grinned over, rolled his eyes. "Good cheese."

"I know what you like."

"Yeah." That was why... Well, shit. That was why he had the question he had.

Will leaned his head back against the couch and gave him a look. "So?"

"So what?" He watched as Miller threw the ball away, running down the clock.

"So what's the question?"

This'll be available at Torquere Press on Wednesday!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween yesterday. Now it's done and it's November. Two more months until the new year. It seems like just yesterday that it was the new year. 2011 that is. Wow.

Oops, I think I slept through yesterday!

October seems to have gotten away from me. I can't believe Halloween is Monday next week.

I'll be at the Torquere Press Livejournal on Friday this week, and I'll be taking part in The Romance Studio's Halloween spookapalooza Oct 28-30. And the plan for my newsletter is to have it out on Halloween, so that's Monday next week.

Wayback Wednesday

Today's Wayback Wednesday is Bite and Bitten, which just happen to be the prize for this week's paranormal Monday, so put your name in the hat to win them (see my last lj entry for how).

Anton loves a well-prepared steak. That's all he's hoping for when he meets Greg, his new live-in chef. Flamboyant and confident, Greg attracts Anton immediately, and he finds himself wanting to know Greg better. Much better.

It's not just a normal attraction for Anton. He's an unusual man, with unusual desires, and Greg seems to be filling a place in Anton's life that he's never explored. Anton prefers to be a civilized man and not let his werewolf self run free, but it's the wolf that wants to claim Greg for a mate.

Someone disapproves of Anton's relationship with Greg. Someone close to Anton, someone inside his carefully controlled household. As he and Greg come closer and closer to mating for life, the danger gets nearer, forcing them to depend on each other to stay safe, and for Greg to stay sane.

Can Anton convince Greg that his wolf would never hurt him and keep Greg safe from the menace outside their relationship, too? Sexy, razor sharp and fast-paced, Bite will keep your heart racing!

Anton has lost almost everything he holds dear: his apartment, his life in the city, and his long-time friend and butler, Jackson, who has been kidnapped by a rival pack. The one thing he still has is his lover and mate, Greg, who is learning to be a werewolf, even as they try to put their lives back to rights.

Determined to get Jackson back, Anton finally approaches the werewolf pack that's his to lead by right, but that he's largely ignored. They agree to help him, but Anton has to embrace his inner wolf to work with them, and to help Greg come to terms with what he is.

Meanwhile, butler Jackson is trapped - hurting and beaten - praying for rescue that looks wholly unlikely, even as his time is running out, while Greg is convinced he's going crazy, fearing he's hearing voices that won't go away.

As pack Alpha, it all falls to Anton to keep his people safe, but there are forces at work that even the strongest werewolf might not be able to overcome. Can Anton keep his friends safe and save his beloved mate from the voices that call to him? Find out in this sequel to Sean Michael's best-seller, Bite.

My God, it's Monday!

I have a new short story out!

Lion Tamer, a Hammer story

Single Hammer Club Top Christopher is dressed up for the club's Halloween party as a lion tamer, complete with whip. He's an expert with the whip; he just needs to find someone special to use it on. Will newcomer and sexy kitty Travis be just what he's looking for?

And at the moment, Torquere Press has a 15% off coupon going today and tomorrow -- so you can buy it with 15% off! The code is hal2011.

So the Velvet Glove stories that were on Turn of the Screw that are available in the Velvet Glove print books are going to be released as ebooks over the next year. The ones from Volume 1 will be first. I don't have any release dates yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I do.

Halloween is only two weeks away! Which means October is more than half over and I still haven't done my newsletter for this month. I must fix that...

Winner of an ebook copy of Fur and Fang is Kathy S.

This week's paranormal month contest is for ebook copies of both Bite and it's sequel Bitten. Just send me an email at seanmichaelwrites @ gmail . com (without the spaces) with 3rd Monday in the subject line and I'll pull a winner Monday next week.

My God it's not quite Monday anymore

Congrats to buttononthetop who won an ebook copy of A Private Hunger.

This week's contest for paranormal month is an ebook copy of Fur and Fang, with stories by myself and BA Tortuga. Just send an email to me at seanmichaelwrites @ gmail . com (without the spaces) with 2nd Tuesday in the subject line and I'll pull the winner next Monday.

I've got a werekitty threesome in the works at the moment. Two growly alpha males and a lovely beta kit who's only just been turned and doesn't know if he's coming or going. The two Alpha's have an interesting dynamic, but they're going to need their little beta to keep them from tearing each other apart, I think.

Okay, off to beer!

Wayback Wednesday

Keeping with the theme of October being paranormal month, today's Wayback Wednesday is Shifting.

This anthology gives a whole new meaning to the phrase animal attraction. Shifting features four novellas from Julia Talbot and Sean Michael that bring out the beast in all of us, from the slinky sensuality of the big cat to the tight social structure of the wolfpack, these stories show us what it's like to be a little more, or less, than human in a human world.

Ranging from colonial India to the gritty streets of the modern city, the settings have something for everyone, and the heat has less to do with the rainforest than it does the relationships forged between these extraordinary characters.

Let your inner wild child out. Don't miss Shifting!

You can buy it here.
