Greek Villagers Survive Crisis With Their Own Food

You���ve no doubt heard about the economic calamity, of truly epic proportions, plaguing the Greek citizenry at the present time. It turns out that, for some, things are getting so bad that the best option they have to meet day-to-day essential needs is to resort to the most basic skills associated with survival.
Looking at this is perhaps both inspiring and worrisome, simultaneously. On the one hand, seeing people remain undefeated by bizarre socialist policies (many of which, admittedly, the people themselves have been all too happy to embrace, historically) and devote themselves to persevering at what is, quite literally, the most grass roots level of survival, is something to behold here in 2015. However, it is nevertheless stunning that, in this day and age, a modern government���one representative of a nation that has been a charter member of the First World since that concept first evolved���could so badly manage itself that it drives its citizens to engage in the most primitive of survival skills in order to, well, survive.
Should Americans take note? We certainly would. The reality is that unbridled socialism is so toxic to the good order of a functional economy that, regardless of at what socioeconomic level the country sits at the outset, unchecked collectivist policies will drive that nation, ultimately, into Third World status. Much of the path on which America has traveled for the last several years is at least moderately similar to that traveled by Greece, and so, given that, it may be good idea for all of us to brush up on our survival skills.

ISIS Attack Planned For Fourth Of July Weekend?

The alarm has been sounded, informing us all that extra awareness is in order this weekend as we go about our business in celebrating the Independence Day holiday - U.S. intelligence agencies sent out bulletins to local law enforcement agencies in May to remind them of the importance of remaining extra-vigilant around the various holiday seasons in these United States, given the rise in ISIS and ISIS-related terror activities over the last year or so���and the May alerts are receiving renewed attention in the days leading up to the July fourth celebrations due to take place in communities large and small around the country this weekend.

Part of the reason for the encouragement of heightened awareness right now is the recent statement, issued by an ISIS spokesman, imploring supporters to attack during the holy month of Ramadan, which ends on July 17. More broadly, U.S. officials have long been concerned about large gatherings in major cities across the country on behalf of America���s most celebrated holidays, and so the timing of the proclaimed greater threat from ISIS in recent months���with this weekend���s celebrations���is something to be noted.
According to government officials, there is no credible threat at this time about which any agency is particularly concerned, presently. However, there is no denying the increased terror activities committed by members, and/or supporters, of ISIS over the past many months, and it is, in the minds of many, simply a matter of time before ISIS itself (or members sympathetic to ISIS) makes a large-scale effort against citizens of the United States. More and more recognizable names, like U.S. Congressman Peter King of New York, are themselves publicly voicing great concern over what they see as a vulnerable holiday weekend coming up for Americans. How great is this concern, even without (supposedly) a specific threat? Supposedly, all who work for the FBI have had their vacations canceled on behalf of this weekend. Something���or nothing? We���ll see���but you are encouraged to remain on high alert, personally, as you go about your business over the next few days.
Economist Says The Real Unemployment Rate Is 42%

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, from which we all receive the ���official��� number each month, unemployment in America is at 5.3 percent (as of May), which is a relatively decisive drop from the 6.1 percent mark at which the BLS declared the level to sit in May of 2014. However, the unemployment rate has become very much a function of the eye of the beholder���and it all depends, it seems, on just what prism through which the beholder is looking.
For example, let���s talk briefly about the difference between U-3 and U-6 unemployment rates. The U-3 unemployment rate is the one you hear about most regularly, the one that is at 5.3 percent right now. Basically, that refers to those people who are fully unemployed but ���officially��� seeking to get back to work. That number, however, is misleading to many, because it doesn���t take into account the involuntary part-time worker (the person who would like to be working full time but cannot due to economic constraints), as well as the person who is unemployed but not looking for work; according to the BLS, that figure���U-6 unemployment���is at 10.4 percent. However, others see things much differently; entrepreneur and declared presidential candidate Donald Trump believes the current real unemployment rate to be at 18 percent, while David Stockman, who was the Director of the Office of Management and Budget under Ronald Reagan, sees the actual unemployment rate at an astronomical 43 percent, based on a calculation predicated on reported labor hours per year. According to Stockman, if all adult Americans were working full-time, they would generate 420 million labor hours per year; however, only 240 million labor hours is what���s currently being generated, according to the BLS. This means, per Stockman, that with the ���missing��� other 180 million labor hours representing roughly 43 percent of the 420 million labor hour ���whole,��� that the real unemployment rate is at that figure, 43 percent.
Even if you don���t completely buy what Stockman is selling, it���s difficult to believe that unemployment is really at 5.3 percent, either; even anecdotally, we all seem to know a lot more people who are out of work, or underemployed, than we did many years ago. Is it the new normal? I guess a big part of knowing that���is knowing what the real figures actually are.

Prophecy Shockumentary Says U.S. To Face Nuclear War, Obama Last President... America Is Babylon?
I watched an interesting short form documentary this week which gets into some very cutting edge information. Honestly, I don't know if I buy into everything they have to say, but it is Bible based, and seems to offer a well thought out hypothesis. The documentary is a promotion for a series of survival books. I did buy the books myself - good stuff to have in your library. This is a very timely take on Isaiah 9:16 - "Those who guide this people mislead them, and those who are guided are led astray."
The movie is very well done - production quality way above what I normally see for something like this. Sad to say, but most "Christian movies" are not this nicely produced.

U.S. Airlines Under Investigation For Price Fixing

For some time, consumers have been complaining that significant declines in the price of oil have not translated into savings in the price of air travel, notable because fuel is the most significant cost incurred by the airline industry. Now, in a story broken by the Associated Press, the Justice Department has opened an investigation into whether there has been collusion on the part of U.S. airlines to keep ticket prices high, by engineering slower growth. The Justice Department has sent a letter to U.S. carriers, demanding they turn over copies of communications had with one another, as well as with Wall Street analysts and significant shareholders, on the subject of passenger capacity. A Justice Department spokesperson has confirmed that the investigation into ���unlawful coordination��� is indeed taking place, but there has been no elaboration by Justice beyond that point, to include no specifics regarding which carriers are subject to the scrutiny.
One of the growing problems for air travelers has been the continued shrinking of carrier options over the last several years, courtesy of a number of mergers that began in 2008; as it stands, over 80 percent of the seats in the U.S. market are presently controlled by just four airlines: American, Delta, Southwest, and United.
News of this investigation comes on the heels of Jet Blue���s announcement that it will now begin charging bag fees, something it had resisted while so many other airlines gave in to the practice. This leaves Southwest as the only major carrier to eschew bag fees���but, the way things are going, how long will they continue to resist the enormous temptation? More broadly, what���s clear is that air travelers can expect to be under the gun, in terms of ticket prices and other fees, for some time to come.

I ran across a really weird idea this week, but after thinking about it for a few minutes, I quickly concluded it wasn't all that strange after all. With all of the high tech messaging going on in our culture, there is one low tech method of communication that still works very well - T-Shirts. With the upcoming election, and all of the controversial things going on in the country right now, you can bet that funny and clever messages on T-Shirts will be everywhere. Have you ever come up with a one liner that you thought would make a great T-Shirt? As a Christian, there are a lot of things I would love to put on a T-Shirt...but I had no idea that you could make a ton of money with a simple T-shirt idea.
The most amazing thing about this opportunity is that you don't need to invest any money upfront. I was reading more about this yesterday, and ran across quite a few stories of people that had made huge sums of money with their own T-shirt idea. I will be honest with you and tell you that I know nothing about how to get started in a business like this. So, I did what I always do when I want to learn something new - I bought a training program.
