Amazon Flipping At My Own Garage Sale
As many of you know, for the past nine months I have been having a blast with my Amazon Flipping project. For those that are not regular readers, this is what I call my strategy of buying items offline and and reselling them on Amazon. In some circles this is called retail arbitrage. If you do a Google search for this phrase, you will quickly learn that this is the hottest thing since the launch of eBay. What I love about it, is the simplicity. Amazon sells my stuff and handles shipping, customer service, billing, and then deposits my share of the proceeds directly into my bank account every Friday (sorry eBay, but this is so much easier).

Finding Items To Sell At My Own Garage Sale
Garage sales at the Paris home have historically taken place about every couple of years (the point at which our garage begins to overflow with junk). When my children were younger, we would bribe them by offering the proceeds to fund their summer activities. These sales typically generated hundreds of dollars, so it was never difficult to get the kids on board.
This year was a lot different. Our children are now in their twenties and we had no takers on the garage sale proposition. My wife and I had been putting it off (for nearly three years) and decided to roll up our sleeves, clean the garage, and do a Saturday half day sale. Whatever did not sell, we would donate to a local charity thrift shop.
Finding Items To Flip On Amazon At My Own Garage Sale
In preparation for the sale, we had amassed a large pile of items. I grabbed my Android phone and started scanning the barcodes to see what treasures I might find. I discovered over $200 in retail value in about a dozen items (mostly books) that were separated and shipped off to Amazon (sorry garage sale customers). These items would have gone for pennies on the dollar or simply discarded.
This was a real reminder for me of how easy it is to find great items to resell - even at my own garage sale! The moral of the story here is that there is tons of merchandise out there to buy and resell. As much fun as it is hunting for items around town, it was even more satisfying to hit pay dirt in my own stack of 'junk.' Despite the fact that I am always looking for 'flippable' products, I almost missed quite a few right in my own home.
After this experience, I wondered how many of my readers might be having their own garage sale this summer? How much money in their stack of stuff would they miss? 250 Fired Disney Employees Forced To Train Immigrant Replacements
So much for the mantra that we need immigrants to do jobs that Americans won't. This one makes you really wonder. The New York Times reports that 250 Disney employees were laid off last October and replaced by workers relocated to the United States from India. The immigrant replacements are in the United States on temporary visas. This particular visa program (H-1B) is to be used to fill technical jobs with immigrants for which there are insufficient American workers available.
According to reports, Disney employees were humiliated further by being required to train their replacements as a condition of receiving their severance pay.

Prophecy Shockumentary Says U.S. To Face Nuclear War, Obama Last President... America Is Babylon?
I watched an interesting short form documentary this week which gets into some very cutting edge information. Honestly, I don't know if I buy into everything they have to say, but it is Bible based, and seems to offer a well thought out hypothesis. The documentary is a promotion for a series of survival books. I did buy the books myself - good stuff to have in your library. This is a very timely take on Isaiah 9:16 - "Those who guide this people mislead them, and those who are guided are led astray."
The movie is very well done - production quality way above what I normally see for something like this. Sad to say, but most "Christian movies" are not this nicely produced.
I know the idea of America as the prophetic Babylon is controversial, but this is not a new theory. If you want to go further on this topic, here is a book you might also want to read - The Final Babylon. Whether you agree with the theological perspective of the movie or not, the preparedness message is one we should all heed.

Abandoned Wal-Marts Being Staged For Jade Helm?
The blogosphere is buzzing with word that the government is using abandoned Wal-Mart locations for the upcoming 'Jade Helm' multi-state military exercise. Before you write this one off as a wild conspiracy theory, consider the picture (below) of a former Wal-Mart location in Cincinnati with razor wire installed. Other reports are of 8 foot high fences at these locations as a perimeter around the parking lot area. Adding to the speculation are witnesses reporting seeing military vehicles (including tanks) going in and out of these apparent command centers.

I frankly don't know what to think about all of this, but there is way too much smoke here to dismiss it all. Of course, one grand theory is that the government is wasting a bunch of taxpayer money. That would not be anything new, but when you look at the sheer number of reports, there might just be some 'there' there.

What's Next? Well, Cutting Off Your Own Limbs Of Course
Some may be shocked by the gender transition of Bruce Jenner, but now we know that this is really not all that cutting edge at all. The next thing we are going to be told to accept as 'normal' is a group being identified as 'transabled.' The designation applies to individuals that feel uncomfortable with one or more of their limbs. They have a psychological need to become disabled (described as a craving).
Moral depravity always ends in death and destruction. You might laugh and think that this transabled movement is too weird to catch on, even in our twisted culture. My view is that each step into darkness beckons the next. If the disfigurement of gender reassignment surgery is not quite enough to satisfy your appetite, you might opt for the removal of one or more limbs. We used to have a term for this kind of thing thing in the 'good old days' - CRAZY.
Not everything a person feels should be acted upon - this is why we are not considered animals. Part of living is having the self discipline to think through our impulses and decide whether they should translate into an action. I have to say, however, that I have never been tempted to saw off an arm or a leg. Next we will be told that those having their limbs amputated by choice should become eligible for Social Security Disability, and all of the other benefits that legitimately disabled individuals receive.

FBI Operating Mysterious Fleet Of Drones Over U.S. Cities

If the government wants to reassure us that it���s not really interested in spying on us average citizens, the latest revelation about the activities of the FBI are hardly a step in the right direction. An investigation by the Associated Press has revealed that the FBI is essentially operating its own air force, of sorts, deploying numerous, low-flying small aircraft over a multitude of American cities, aircraft armed with a variety of high-tech surveillance equipment. The AP���s review of the agency���s activities found that the FBI operated these aircraft over more than 30 cities in 11 of these United States. What���s more, the AP learned that the FBI is cloaking this activity behind a veil of fictitious companies���with names like KQM Aviation and NBR Aviation���that are effectively serving as fronts for the agency���s surveillance activities.
According to spokesman Christopher Allen, the planes in use ���are not equipped, designed, or used for bulk collection activities or mass surveillance.��� The conclusion we, as citizens, are supposed to draw is the same one that we���re supposed to draw whenever something like this comes to light: that the agency doing the surveilling is specifically���and only���looking for truly bad guys, people the rest of us are fine seeing ferretted out by these kinds of operations. The fact is, however, that the equipment utilized on these planes is quite capable of not only taking video of basically anyone (not just real bad guys), but, in some cases, of even identifying people on the ground by way of their cell phones���even if they���re not making a call!
Since 9/11, especially, privacy experts have been particularly concerned about the government���s inclination to basically do whatever it pleased in the manner of surveilling its citizens. The belief is that because Americans can see a clear and present danger in the form of Islamic terrorism, they will be more tolerant of ���gray area��� efforts by the government to keep an eye on things. As worrisome as this newest information is about FBI behavior, it is only the latest in a long line of privacy intrusions by federal agencies that seem to be picking up steam as the ostensible justifications (the prospect of ISIS in America, for example) for it become more prevalent. Nevertheless, one has to imagine (hope?) that a vocal majority of Americans will soon���finally���express their great displeasure, in no uncertain terms, about the efforts by their own government to keep watch on those it likely now sees as its subjects.

Mike Huckabee's Bruce-Gender Headlines
It is not enough that we had to see Bruce Jenner dressed as a woman in our grocery checkout lines this week. We are now being told by the media that we better not joke about the new female Bruce. To be sure they had a villain, they dug up a video of Mike Huckabee making a comment about gender confused boys being allowed to go in the girl's locker room. Huckabee's comments were from a speech he made all the way back in February.
I just watched a CNN interview where the comparisons are already being made between the pilgrimage of the gay community and transgenders. I don't want to hear that 'times have changed.' Who on earth ten years ago would have approved of a gender confused boy being in the girls bathroom or locker room?
The sick liberals keep moving the goals posts of morality, and those that don't go along are considered haters. I have no idea what is going on with Bruce Jenner, and I should add that many in the PR community still wonder if this is all just a money-making stunt. Let's not forget that Bruce Jenner is in the cast of a reality show - a show that makes its stock and trade being provocative. Jenner is not a private citizen trying to quietly live his life. The same media that is telling us that we should not look cross-eyed at all of this, is parading Jenner around like a carnival sideshow for just this very reason. Don't sell me a ticket to see the bearded lady and then call me insensitive to bearded ladies when I gasp at your freak show.
Bruce's 'transition' whether real or not, is clearly dysfunctional in my view. Even those within the psychiatric community are widely divided on the long term effects of gender transition. Not to mention that there is no agreement on what transgender means. To claim transgender status, you can simply perceive yourself as a different gender. You don't even need to buy a new wardrobe...
By the way, Huckabee is right. California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law AB1266 in 2013. The law gives students the right ���to participate in sex-segregated programs, activities and facilities��� based on their self-perception of gender. It also made national news when Planet Fitness made it clear that their locker rooms would follow a similar policy. These are just two examples of how public policy is making accommodations for the new cause celebre, and it is just the beginning.
Even if we all decide to go along with this, how will we know when someone claims transgender status simply because they are a sexual deviant? No, Mike Huckabee is not an insensitive buffoon, he is just not drinking the Kool-Aid, nor am I.
