deliciousKaek: Respect For Trans* People
Basic Respect For Trans* People
Please use language that corresponds to my gender identity, even if my body does not seem to match, and even when talking about my past.
If you are still adjusting to my transition, it is normal to make mistakes…
Thank you for this.
I Want To See Dark Knight Rises Again Already.
Wow. Don’t want to do spoilers yet, but MAN, I loved this movie.
I can’t believe we got this movie AND Avengers in the same year…best year ever for comic nerds? Maybe!
Just a phenomenal, original piece of mature filmmaking. I know some are going to disagree, but I absolutely loved it.

Black Alice (by Howie Muzika)
I met this outstanding cosplayer at SDCC, she absolutely was STUNNING as Black Alice. As lovely as this picture is, in real life, she was even more perfect. I was delighted and honored…she was with a couple other perfect cosplayers who were also Asian and they were absolute showstoppers everywhere they went. She also could not have been sweeter or more gracious when my hubby asked if we could take a picture together.
A very happy memory from San Diego.

And it is beautiful :D
And then sometimes, you just say, “to hell with subtext.”

A Question In My Ask Box
“
Do you feel it’s possible to write a positive female character, who is both physically and mentally strong while she still acknowledges her sexuality? Some of my stuff has been called misogynistic for my female character’s use and acknowledgment of their sexuality and their willingness to be physical in a fight.
— antiherobrand”
I don’t know your material in particular, but of course you can have a female character be powerful and sexual, I am not even sure I understand the question. There should be a RANGE of characters on these spectrums…I am okay with Power Girl’s outfit and Catwoman’s innuendo because they exist in a spectrum that also has Wonder Woman and Aunt May and every other female character. If they ALL behaved like, say, the Black Cat, that would get dreary fast and would definitely be sexist, in my opinion. But A character behaving like that, out of hundreds displaying so much variety, doesn’t bother me.
My only other objection is if it is out of character. Wonder Woman shouldn’t speak or act like Catwoman, for example.

New 52 Questions of the Day
Just curious, if you are interested.
No special reason except that we are coming up on the first anniversary of the new52 launch.
1) what are your four favorite new52 books, if any? Any choices are welcome, but only asking about new 52 books specifically please…no Vertigo or non-new52 books this time.
And
2). What character that has APPEARED in the new52 but does not have their own book yet, would you most like to see get their own series?
Totally just curious, thanks!

Recently The Gordon Parks Foundation discovered over 70 unpublished photographs by Parks at the bottom of an old storage box wrapped in paper and marked as “Segregation Series.” These never before series of images not only give us a glimpse into the everyday life of African Americans during the 50′s but are also in full color, something that is uncommon for photographs from that era.
Astounding..land a lot of people on both sides of segregation who experienced it are still alive.
Mind-blowing, thank you for posting this.
