Gail, Love what you do, but let me ask ya... Are things going to get a little Rose & Thorn-y any time soon? :)

The New52 has a new version of Rose and Thorn on the way, I believe!

I will miss my version, that was based on a real person very close to me who went through the same struggles, but the new version DOES sound interesting!

Hey Gail, this is unrelated to all your other questions today, but I'm a pretty big Batgirl fan and I was wondering if you could tell me if there are other crossovers in Batgirl's future? I'm especially wondering about any possible crossovers with Supergir

I would LOVE to do a Supergirl crossover…I have asked about it, we’ll see. There’s another super that MAY make an appearance this year. She’s also appearing in Bop, she’s going to be a key player in some other stories. Our Barbara is VERY POPULAR right now!  :)

I wanted to say how much I'm enjoying the Knightfall story arc so far. I've been hoping for more of the smaller character moments/development with Babs. Can I look forward to seeing more of Babs outside of the cowl as well?

YES.

Okay, absolutely yes. If I have ONE regret about Batgirl so far, this is it, we have not had the real estate to show more of her personal life, because we’ve had a couple big stories in a row that allowed for VERY little Barbara time.

But I absolutely PROMISE that that changes after Death of the Family. There are some serious things she needs to think about, and some very, very major developments, and, well, I can’t really even hint at anything more right yet! But I promise, Barbara out of the cowl, YES.

So will we see more of the whole Batwoman Batgirl crossover in the coming future? BTW say hi to hubby from us. Thanks, James & Katie Petross

I HOPE so! I have spoken with J.H. Williams about it, he knows I would love to see Babs in his book. Writing them together was so much fun my head almost exploded.

So you have a nice anon message - Thank you for The Battle Within! I'd read odd issues before but never the whole volume, so it was a lovely surprise to see so much Huntress and Canary badassery in what I thought was gonna be an Oracle-centric story. So.

Aw, thanks! When people are asked what their favorite BOP story of mine is, most people say Sensei and Student for whatever reason, and I do enjoy that story a great deal. But I am really fond of The Battle Within for a number of reasons, mostly because I feel it just showcases all three birds at their MOST badass, and I really love that.

Thanks!

In "Circle," when Diana pledges herself to Kane, he tells her to "Keep faith, trust to love, fight with honor, but fight to win." I think that line is absolutely brilliant, it's 100% Wonder Woman (and damn good advice in general), and I want to incorporate

Wow, that is a great question!

Okay, first, that little mantra, I think it’s the best single bit of writing I have ever done, if I may say. I’m not sure exactly what inspired it, but it came out in a gulp, word for word, just as written, almost like a dream.

It’s been the piece of writing I have done that more people have mentioned to me than any other, often to the point of being a genuine inspiration. I know of several tattoos, and I know of several people who use it as their personal mantra…one guy used it to lose a ton of weight after an accident, if I remember correctly, and another used it to get out of an abusive relationship.

As for the ‘faith,’ part…this is a bit complicated, so STRAP IN. :)

First, I am an atheist in my personal life, I don’t really believe in gods or A God. So if I was writing it from my perspective, it would mean one thing. But I’m writing it from DIANA’s perspective, and she definitely believes in gods, as they show up for tea on a regular basis.

So, she could mean have faith in your gods, I imagine, it would be in character to a degree.

But even so, I think she means something bigger. I think she is saying have faith, in general. No Amazon should believe in blind faith, that leads to zealotry as shown in Alkyone’s case.

But faith in family, friends, and yourself, faith in your values, faith in hope, faith in effort to create a better world, I think those are the things Dinah is talking about. Dinah doesn’t really need to have faith in her gods, they exist, she can touch them and talk to them. She has, let’s say, conditional faith in most of them. But never blind faith.

I think the shorter answer would have been that faith is a pretty wonderful trait if coupled with honesty and empathy.

But my hope would be that people find the meaning in the word that most inspires them.

Hope that helps!

Now tell me, why is this necessary? I do hope that this isn’t official. Where’s the cape?

EDIT: Okay, on twitter he said it’s just a sketch. Still, not a fan.

I actually like a lot of this. I like Catman’s old outfit precisely because it’s old school, but if he shows up in the new 52, I could see updating.

Would he still be bisexual?

Absolutely, isn’t it bi-visibility Day?
