Over the past few weeks I have heard about more and more cosplayers receiving unwelcome negative press from people. It’s to these people that I address right now.

If you feel that a cosplayer is overrated, copying someone, a bit “whoreish”, not a real nerd or any of the other usual, ill…

I will be more succinct.

If you feel the urge to attack someone you don’t even know for daring to cosplay for their own enjoyment, please stifle that urge by sticking your head in a tub of boiling water until it passes.

Lady Gail! Since we know you're a west-coaster, I am wondering if you're one of those writers (like one of my favs, Toni Morrison) who believes in waking up early and conquering your work before moving on to your other activities?

My work habits are ridiculous. 

First, I am a genuine insomniac, I sleep very little and it’s always a disaster. I am often up all night, I got half an hour’s sleep last night for example.

I prefer to write at night…no phone calls, no email, even the dogs are asleep. So usually I work at night and sometimes nap during the day.  But there’s no set pattern, sometimes I work straight for 20 hours or more, sometimes I get very little done in an entire day.

It’s a bit muddled.
