Hi Gail! I just want to thank you for all you've done in the comic book community. I met you back at MegaCon with my best friend and we had the Stephanie and Barbara friendship necklaces and meeting you was really a dream come true. I kept bouncing up and

Dead serious about this, but sometimes, when I know I have difficult writing to do, I will put on a Wonder Woman or Batgirl t-shirt for courage.
Embarrassing true story!

A Serious Question
Have you ever been, or known, someone who was so deeply into fandom of one kind or another that it became detrimental to their life or health (mental or physical)?
It doesn’t happen often…but once in a great while, I will come across someone who is SO deeply into a particular fandom, or multiple fandoms, that they seem to disregard all else, including family, friends, occupation, and their own well-being.
I met a couple fanficcers at a con back East a few years ago that had apparently created their own world and excluded nearly everyone else, I was told by one of the con organizers.
I know it’s not my place to worry about people I barely had a chance to meet, and I’m not at all qualified to hazard even a guess as to the severity of such a thing, or even the validity of the concern.
But I’ve talked with a few people who have expressed similar concerns.
So, just wondering…have you ever been that person, or known that kind of person?
THAT IS WHAT I AM SAYING.
Look at that art, holy crap....

Gail, the cover for The Movement #5 is incredible! Virtue looks like a perfect blend of strong, commanding, coy, playful, and just plain (plain?) beautiful. Some great pencilin', inkin' and colourin' at work there! I haven't read the comics, so I apologize
Virtue is African American, both parents are African American.
Do you think readers would be more likely to interpret that bit about Katharsis being "down on her knees" as a rape reference if it had been written by a male writer? Why or why not?
Not sure, and wouldn’t want to guess. But I do think it’s interesting that in the same issue, Katharsis says she imagines seeing Cannon in peril and naked, and no one said boo about that.
My Son Is The Best Guy
Smart, kind, awesome, hates bullies, cares about all the best things.
Love that guy.
Just saying.
