Hello Ms. Simone! How are you? I just had a quick question. Does it make you sad when you have to switch artists or creative teams? Also, what tends to cause switches like that?

Yes, it can be sad when an art team leaves. I am usually fortunate enough to get a good replacement, but when someone great moves on, it can be very sad.  It can take a while to get a groove going with an artist, I always hate to break that up.

There are a ton of reasons why it happens; the artist will go do a book they have wanted to do, they get called for a special project, they get ill, they can’t keep up, they don’t get along with writer or the editorial team, they want a new challenge, there are tons of reasons.

I am lucky enough that the great majority of the artists I have worked with still like working with me, that makes me happy. Sometimes you create serious professional bonds that last forever.

I had one artist leave for religious reasons, basically, but in general, it’s not a personal thing.

Any chance that you're going to be at the Rose City Comic Con this year?

Not sure…I know I was invited. When does it take place?

I can't find a good explanation online as to why Red Sonja and Conan are with different publishers (Dynamite and Dark Horse). Do you know why?

My understanding is that the rights were split when the Red Sonja movie was made so that two different companies own them.

Don’t know the whole story, sorry!

What are your favorite Lady Shiva stories, outside of Birds of Prey?

Denny O’Neil’s the QUESTION series, without doubt.

Have you ever considered writing Supergirl? Is there a reason why you would/wouldn't?

I have considered it, I do like Supergirl.

I am not sure what my approach would be. She’s a tough one.

Drew Moth-chan stencil for Idgy. Gonna cut it tomorrow when I am NOT half asleep.
Scared to put it on shirt; I’m using an expensive American apparel shirt to ensure colour matches the comic!
Night tumblo.

Perfection!

Hey Gail, I just wanted to thank you for unintentionally putting me back on the path to what I think will be one of my favorite cosplays ;) I saw Man of Steel when it was released over here, fell in love with Faora and decided I would cosplay her, but I go

What the fu…dge?

Honest to god?

In a hobby where there are a hundred Jokers at every convention, people griped about you playing a badass Kryptonian?

This smacks of sexism and fear of the powerful women, actually.

I say do the sensible thing and go be so fabulous they can’t even stand it.
