My friend Christy, who runs the popular tumblr genoshaisforlovers.tumblr.com, is in a very difficult spot with some medical bills that are causing her living situation to be in peril. 

Many of you may know her, she’s a sharp writer and editor and a massive Deadpool fan.

The Thing I Miss The Most About Missing SDCC This Year

Without question, it’s the cosplayers.

Love talking to readers, but I am really bummed I didn’t get to see the cosplayers this year.

It's Nicola Scott's Birthday!

Nicola Scott is my Australian sister.

I first found her online by accident, she had done an amazing Wonder Woman picture, and she had drawn some small press comics. I wanted her for Birds of Prey badly, and at the same time, I think Greg Rucka was trying to sound her out for a project.

I went to talk to editor Mike Carlin about her at SDCC, and showed him her work, and he hired her that day. It was awesome. But she had never done a monthly book and so there was a little concern, I am told, from DC, about the pressure involved. 

Instead, she slayed it. Professional, creative, gifted beyond measure. Working with her on BOP was amazing, and a joy every day. She created Misfit’s look entirely. 

Then we worked together on Secret Six, and she created Jeannette and retooled the look of the whole cast. Some of the best butt shots ever.

We got to live our dream and do a couple issues of Wonder Woman together, and that was heaven.

One of the best, smartest, most innovative artists I have ever worked with. She makes every writer look like a genius.

And she’s my dear friend and I love her.

Any opinions on Wonder Woman wearing a skirt rather than pants in the upcoming Batman/Superman movie?

I honest to god don’t find pants to be the universal cure that some people seem to find them. I like the costume, I just don’t like the heels or the brown color scheme. 

In close-up, it’s full of Wonder Woman symbology and that surprised and delighted me. I am cautiously optimistic.

"I know this because that character and I are friends and they TOLD me." Did they say anything about being too old/middle-aged/young?

Yes, when we were finishing our milkshakes, they said age is irrelevant.
