See, this sounds okay to me, but again, remember what I keep saying, the customers for publishers are retailers, not individual purchasers.

And as a rule, retailers order VERY cautiously on all ages books (with few exceptions).

So it’s risky.

I thought Brian Wood was co-writing Conan/Sonja. Not that this is not equally fantastic, as I was a big fan of Jim Zub's Red Sonja and Cub one-shot.

I hear this every once in a while. I think it’s a pretty fundamental misunderstanding of what writers do, authorial intent, the value of a reveal, character evolution, the difference between a writer’s voice and a character’s, and the ability of a character to recognize bad behavior and try to correct it. All of which are, I’m sorry, fairly rudimentary and obsequious issues of fiction in general.

If someone reads that story in full, and thinks I am slut-shaming Helena…the only real response I have is befuddlement. Canary condemns her own actions WHILE SHE IS DOING THEM, on panel, in ink. I don’t know HOW to hang a bigger lampshade on that.

I also had Ragdoll kill a guy with a wrench once. Doesn’t make me a murderer.

Seriously, sometimes people go MILES past the point.

But once a story is out there, people see what they see, not much can be done about it.

I was being mostly silly. The truth is, I most have Grant-Being-Wonderful stories. He’s been a doll to me, very supportive, since way back before I turned pro.
