IF by chance you are a cosplayer (or not) and you feel a little harassed or someone is being creepy, you can always, always come to my table and sit with us until the moment passes (or we will call security for you if needed).

We encourage anyone who has been harassed or witnessed such an instant to report it to us if they wish to do so. There will be a “Report An Incident” feature in our mobile app to do so, and you can also talk to us directly through our social media accounts, or talk to any ECCC staff member (identifiable by their green t-shirts and black polo shirts). You are also welcome to go to either of our Information Booths (WSCC fourth floor and sixth floor). We will help you.

I got hassled (mildly) by a guy taking sideshots of me without permission last year and let me tell you, the ECCC volunteers I told about it were on him like white on rice. For any followers going to ECCC worried about stuff like this, their harassment policy is definitely not just empty words. Highly recommend.

At the very least, I will be there, but more than likely, both my husband (who is very big and has zero damn tolerance for people harassing others) and my son (who is a black belt and feels the same), will be there (except for two panels on Friday, I think!).

So just keep in mind, our table is a safe space if you need it. Y-02. No questions asked.

ECCC is generally very advanced about this stuff, but it’s a big con and it’s good to know where to go, if necessary.

Emerald City Comic Con!

Okay, I love this con. I have been going since it was really small, and watched it grow and grow. One thing I love about it is, it’s a FUN con, the emphasis has always been on people having a good time. If anything, the biggest complaint I hear is that it has succeeded to a point where it’s just massively popular, and it can be hard to see everything you want to see.

I wasn’t sure if I was going this year—there was a conflict, I thought, but I was mistaken, so I contacted the folks who run it, who sadly said they were completely booked up (I never ask to attend cons, I am fortunate enough, thank goodness, to get invited to far, far more than I can ever possibly go to). So it looked like I wasn’t going. But the creator of the con, Jim Demonakis, kept on it, and finally was able to get me a table and a room.

He didn’t have to do it, he just kept on it because he’s that kind of guy.

I love the people that run this con, it’s one of the nicest, most enthusiastic crowds anywhere, and Seattle is awesome. So I am happy.

Please come say hi!  I will be at table Y-02. I am not sure if I am in the program, due to being a late addition, but I will be there. I think I will have scripts, if I can get them done in time. And I should have some books and trades.

COME SAY HI!

Who all is going?

Vengeance Moth Still Needs A Little Help!

Please read this, if you can, and signal boost, okay? A couple bucks sent her way would be lovely.

Many of you know that the character of VENGEANCE MOTH is based on a real person, a cosplayer/internet snark/actress named B.A. Boyd, whom I adore to absolute pieces (you would, too, if you knew her!).

The car she uses for basic life necessities was totaled by another driver, and because she is in a wheelchair, she needs a vehicle which can be modified with the proper equipment for her to use. We’re talking basic necessities, here.

She found a super-reasonable rig and insurance is paying some, but she could really, really use a hand. She makes the internet and comics and everything around her better, please take a look and help a little if you can. I will love you forever for it! If you can’t, please signal boost!  Thank you!

FRESH ROMANCE!

Okay, so my friend Janelle Asselin is doing something long, long overdue and very, very cool. She is bringing back awesome romance comics, with a new publishing endeavor, ROSY PRESS, and the book is called FRESH ROMANCE. It’s going to be awesome. The creators are amazing. Check out this brief video here, please!
