La Mole Comic Con starts today.

I can’t wait to meet the readers but boy, do I feel bad I never learned any Spanish!

Come say hi!

Whose idea was it to make Misfit the future Huntress in the Titans of Tomorrow storyline?

I think whoever was writing Titans at the time, I wasn’t consulted, but it seemed like a pretty astute idea. I thought it was clever.

Wow.

First impressions of Mexico City…we were exhausted, I have been up for about thirty six hours straight, and to get here, we had to leave our home at 2:30 am, so it’s been a bit fatiguing. And we have never been to Mexico and have been getting very contradictory reports about what to expect.

So far, we LOVE Mexico City. Where we are at is very nice, it could be a nice area in any Cosmopolitan city, people are dressed in very high fashion (we felt quite underdressed in our hotel).

We were told there were no restaurants in the hotel, there are three, and there’s cool restaurants and shops everywhere. We were told there is a 7-11 if we need waters or other items, but there is literally a nice mall right next door, with a great grocery store full of awesome fresh healthy food.

Everyone we have met has been lovely, very kind and patient with our shameful lack of Spanish.

We can’t wait to explore. Tomorrow we are going to see the pyramids and the anthropological museum. I have wanted to see these two things my whole life!

We were tired and just wanted to sleep, but we reluctantly dragged ourselves to go find a restaurant since we hadn’t eaten all day.

HOLY CRAP. Our first Mexican meal in Mexico was AMAZING.

I had chicken mole, by far the best mole I have ever had, with a fresh tamale and caramelized bananas, it was DELICIOUS.

But hubby, @rocketspouse, ordered the best dish, it came in a big incredibly hot stone bowl, and it was marinated rib-eye, chicken, homemade chorizo, grilled cactus, stewed garlic onions, fried cheese and fresh guacamole all in one big bowl, it was absolutely amazing. The waiter delighted in bringing us our first real Mexican dishes in the country and we just were astounded.

I may not want to leave.

Everyone here has been so kind and patient.

This is obviously a ‘nicer’ area of the city, but I was fascinated by all the other neighborhoods we drove through, the colors and the way each building seemed to be unique, there were beautiful elements of style and personality everywhere. We couldn’t help but contrast it to the drive to Burbank from Oregon and how every development seemed so grey and sterile and without personality.

I have a feeling this is an amazing, amazing city. I cannot wait to see more and to meet the readers at the con.  I am excited!

I am also incredibly fortunate to get to do these things and meet these lovely people. IT IS WONDERFUL.

Hope to see you at La Mole Comic Con!  Thank you for the warm welcome, Mexico City!

Hey Gail, i have a question regarding La Mole in México, are you going to have the scripts on friday? it's the only day i'm going and i really really want some. Thank you and see you on friday :)

I am!

This is my first trip to Mexico, I have absolutely no idea what the demand will be…I brought fifteen copies of four scripts is all (because of the weight, we printed them at home and took them with us and they take up a lot of our baggage allowance).  But since Friday is the first day of the con, I should think there will be no problem picking up scripts that day!

Looking forward to meeting you!

I have a question that about an aspect of comics that seems to be over looked, religion. Mainly why religion seems wholly unaffected by the fact that in that universe literal pagen gods are roaming the planet. The fact the wonder Woman proves the greek pan

I don’t want to speak for that character or that writer but I don’t imagine this is a conflict in any way. And why single out Kamala? What about every Christian who believes in a Christian god in a world where Odin exists?

My feeling is they would probably think of Norse gods as godLY or godLIKE, but not their actual GOD, if that makes sense.  I think this is an interesting thing to explore, is it possible to still be an atheist in a world where the Spectre exists. And my feeling is that people don’t decide matters of faith based on evidence exclusively and never have. I don’t think these things would change much.
