Hey buddy i was wondering if they are gonna make a volume one of the secret six (2014)?
They will certainly do a collection!
I'm submit scrips and am sometimes asked to insert 'trendy' jokes into things to make them "more relevant". Ex: Man writting on laptop wife asked "What are you writing hun." Hun says "Oh just my Jonah Hex/Elogated man fanfiction hastag lol" How would I tel
Barf.
That’s terrible advice…I have no idea what it is you are writing for, but random insertions of pop culture without context is what makes things like Family Guy so unwatchably grating.
Editors are not infallible. Some are great, some are awful and some are in that vast weird space in the middle. Many times, people will make suggestions for you to put more fins on the Cadillac because it looked cool a hundred million years ago, with no more thought to it than that.
Remember, your name is going out on this thing. Your name. The only indicator you have on the book, it’s right there. If you stick in some terrible Miley Cyrus joke that is already dated and is only going to be embarrassing two months from now, that’s your call, and you have to live with it.
I have quit books when asked to do something I knew would suck. That is always an option.
If you CAN, there may be a way to subvert the request into something that’s actually cool. Go that route, if you can. Otherwise, give them another solution and stick to your guns.
We only have one stock option in this stuff, and it’s our name. Don’t devalue it.
Was Tremor aromantic or just asexual? I'm trying to figure if there are any heteroromantic asexuals in media.
Tremor is aromantic and asexual. She did express some surprise and delight at a naked Catman, but that was just one rare moment.

Strix is pretty much my everything right now.

I'd love to read your Mary Marvel! What did you think of Grant Morrison's depiction of "good deeds journal" Mary Marvel in Multiversity?
Have not read it yet!
Hello Gail! Sorry if this puts you on the spot, but you're the best person I know of to ask about something like this. I'm planning my first comic. I've been thinking about making one of the main characters blind, but once they're in their hero gear, they'
Okay.
My first response is to say execution is everything. Almost any idea can work if the execution is smart, thoughtful, informed, and well-crafted. You can tell a story of, say, domestic abuse and make it powerful and inspiring, or you can tell a story about a beautiful field of flowers and make it miserable and soul-destroying, it’s all about execution, not intent.
But REALLY, the thing that’s far more important is, why ask me? I’m not blind, visually impaired, or disabled. This is not really a question for me to answer.
Even more than asking the WRONG person, the problem here is not having any contact with the RIGHT person. Do you not know anyone who is visually impaired? If not, have you researched where there are resources for them on the net, or places where they might be able to help you do this accurately?
If your alarm is going off on whether a story might be problematic, odds are, it’s something you need to do your homework on, and not because you might get negative feedback, but because if you want to tell a story like this, it’s important to get it right out of basic human respect for people who have the condition you are writing about, AND for the integrity of your work.
I would say simply, asking a sighted person if something is okay for a non-sighted person is not the best way to start.
But I don’t want to be discouraging, so let’s throw this out there to the readers and see if anyone would like to help or provide information.
Anyone out there have a strong feeling about this based on actual experience?

I just spent, like, an hour searching for this panel. So I’m gonna share it, darnit.
It is embarrassing to say how much I love this panel, one of my all-time favorites.
I know I wrote Bane a little differently from most others, BUT DAMMIT I LOVE BANE.
I worry sometimes you don't understand what type of impact your books has. One of my buddies his sister is mute by a muscular disorder some of her face and vocal cords showed her Strix She smiled and that for her takes effort.
Wow.
That is lovely to hear.
I do have some idea of what stories can mean, I have a stack of letters from people that are about extremely meaningful things that have happened to them because of my stories. Wonderfully moving letters, about very serious things…it’s hard to even talk about them. I just read a letter a reader wrote that said that reading Creote and Savant allowed her to come out to herself as a gay woman. I’ve had many, many readers say that a book helped them choose not to hurt themselves. And characters like Burden and Vengeance Moth and Scandal and Ryan Choi have meant a lot to many people.
I am underselling it because it’s overwhelming to realize. I know comics and stories helped me make it through very very dark times. It means a lot to me to try to pass that on a little bit.
Please say hello to your friend’s sister from myself and Strix.
Hey Gail, have you ever watched Mystery Science Theater 3000?
What is this theater of which you speak?
This is going to come off really strange, but my girlfriend and I have been in a heated debate for the better part of a year now, and I'm coming to the expert to solve it. Do you think that Canary and Huntress ever had romantic feelings for each other?
I really like to leave that to the readers, but they clearly love each other. So who knows?
