I use a Twitter blocklist that automatically filtered out a lot of the people who were Sealioning you yesterday and today. I know you don't like having to block people, but those people live to annoy, bug and harass working artists on social media. Some
I appreciate the thought but I don’t think Blocklists are for me. Even some of the people who come in just to be jerks can be okay to talk to, sometimes.
I totally get why people would choose to do it, but I don’t think it’s the right choice for me. Even blocking one person usually bugs me.
Killing joke was meh, to me too. I always prefered Devil's Advocate to it. It highlights the Jokers madness, and Batmans commitment to justice regardless of what path it takes him.
I am drawing a blank on Devil’s Advocate. Not sure I read it.
At the risk of incurring the wrath of angry fans, aside from Barbara's role in the Killing Joke(which i agree with), what else did you not like about it?
Hmm.
That’s a fair question. Okay, let’s see. I haven’t read it in years. And I am an Alan Moore fan, I think he’s created works of shattering genius.
But to me, people act far out of character the entire time. And he added a sexual sadism to the Joker that was, at most, hinted at previously. I know he says Barbara isn’t raped in the book, and I completely believe him, but there’s no question that there’s a sexual component to it that I thought was really kind of juvenile and embarrassing. It rings the bell for people who haven’t seen enough shitty revenge movies, I guess.
I remember being amazed by the art and structure, but I love those characters and Barbara and the Joker in particular were just not recognizable to me.
Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, I don’t judge people for liking it. It’s absolutely bizarre to me that so many people got upset that it’s not my favorite. I could name a dozen Alan Moore superhero stories I like more, and I can certainly name a lot of Batman stories I like more. Something about the combination here didn’t work for me. It is so completely not a big deal, I have tons of stories I don’t like for one reason or another. So does everyone.
So, I know there’s some great stuff and it LOOKS amazing. But as an Alan Moore fan, and a Batman fan, it was the first time I really felt let down by something he’d worked on.
What did you think of Bex Taylor-Klaus' portrayal of Sin in Arrow?
I am an expert on Arrow.
I'm doing a project in class, about people and what they're deviant is. I picked you. Cause you write female characters in a great way you know?
Thank you! But I’m not 100% sure I understand the question…what their deviant is?
