When those days come I do something else, like reading over my text, correcting etc. I also feel that it is useful to be working on two things at the same time, that is to have a ´sidekick´project, so that when I get tired of one thing I can switch to the other for a few days. As writing is a mental sport one gets drained occasionally so it is also necessary for writers to take vacations two or three times a year and do something different, in fact everything except writing works! Then one can return to the writing energized and inspired.(less)

“People bury deep inside themselves experiences and memories that are too painful to deal with, and doing this deadens their emotions. But the numbness works against them over time because having no feelings leads to depression, and people seek out behaviour that sparks emotion. Generally that tends to be behaviour that to some extent is self-harming,”
Lilja Sigurðardóttir, Betrayal

“Iceland would never be much more than a remote outpost.”
Lilja Sigurðardóttir, Snare

“to see a little brightness as a funeral came to an end, when the flag was raised again and the soul had flown away to heaven, overjoyed at being freed from Earth’s gravity.”
Lilja Sigurðardóttir, Cold as Hell
